The guy was 3 miles from OSU Campus' main drag. I'm shocked they didn't have a plan to stop him before he got there (plenty of armored SWAT around either OSU police or CPD for campus lockdowns). He would have definitely killed somebody if he made it that far.
When he got over to the farm left, I wondered why they didn't try to take out steer axle or driver axle tires. That would of made fleeing tougher. Losing tractor tires are a bitch.
Media holds professional and legal integrity by stating this was an "alleged chase and crash". Good thing they did that so there was no mistaken accusations¡
Back around the late 80's there was another chase of a semi down High street. It started way up at the old truck stop by Hyatts Rd. on Rt 23 (High St. turns into Rt. 23). It was on a Friday night, and the Highway patrol, Delaware Co. Sheriffs, Franklin Co. Sheriffs, Worthington PD, and CPD were all chasing him. They had a CFD ladder truck go to Arcadia and High to block the Road so he wouldn't make it to the OSU campus, where thousands of students would be on the streets and in bars on High St. He crashed when an OHP trooper rammed his front tires, causing him to crash into an Art store near Weber Rd. on High St. The guy had kidnapped a woman, and was at the truck stop in a semi.

Nothing to see really. Truck is finally stopped at 15:00. Everything before that is just watching the truck driving away. We don’t even get to see an arrest.
I think it was the spare tire rack from under the trailer. Seemed like he damaged it when he went through the middle of the roundabout. You see it come loose much later and go off on the side of the road. A LEO on the radio mentioned it was tires.

Question, no one has any spike strips, to deflate the tires? That could have been done just after 1:33 when the truck was stopped. Set up just ahead, all across the road.
A cop would have to get ahead of the vehicle to deploy spike strips. That would have probably been pretty dangerous, since the guy was trying to ram police vehicles. I presume if they could have found a safe place to deploy spike strips they would have done it. But it would not be easy.
