Great video. just a setup 2 Vantrue N2 pro's using this video. What was important to me was basically how to toggle the setup as well as the GPS info which I don't have, I did reset the mgz to 60 since i read this is what they use in the US. Everything else I followed what you have set up. this was a very useful video for setup and not some sales pitch on how great the product is. I know that already it was after purchase I needed help.. very good slow explanatory procedures on why you used the settings too. Thank you.

Do you have a video on how to play the video on a larger screen?
Question: Is there any way to change which camera shows full screen? Default mode shows the main camera looking at the road in full screen, but the one looking at the inside of the vehicle is so small cropped on the top left corner. I’d like to switch this so the inside of the car camera shows full screen and the road is minimized in the top left corner. Is this possible??

Okay I have had mine for a month and still have questions.
1. I have it on 5 minute loop recording, when I press the okay button, it often doesn’t save the video and stops recording. Even when there are no files on the card (64GB)
2. How do I get it to save videos in case of an accident? Just press the okay button? Or the !/P Button?
3. My card only allows for like 30 minutes to be in storage at a time. I want to save 5 minute video clips but when I press the button it only shows like 1 1/2 minutes then the video ends. How the hell do you work the recording on this thing?

Can you make a video on how to set a passcode or encryption for the card so if it gets stolen the theft can view the card ?
There is an attachment, where your camera uses your OMB-2 connection under your dash. There's no other connections to the OMB except for the power connection to your battery and it doesn't mess with the OMB port or your computer at all. It's just power. I bought mine off Ama**n and haven't had a problem with it or my vehicle at all. My dash cam is the Vantrue N2 Pro, but the power cable will work if you have an older Vantrue unit and you want to power your camera 24/7. Don't leave your driveway without it.

It's not that hard once you've done it a couple of times. I do it all the time...just be careful though as the card sometimes pops out with force and you can lose it

@samrizvi do recordings automatically save to like a cloud or to you phone for a save and quick review in case something happens to the camera? Do you have to manually remove the SD card or download the file for a hard copy?
When I made this video, the only option was to save to the SD card. I don't know if Vantrue has an app now or if the camera can now connect to the internet and save them on the cloud.

Thank you for the info. Although this camera is old (2024 is when I bought it), I just needed one for UBER and I got it for $110 from Vantrue. IT seems to do the job from the reviews I have watched. I'm hopin gto just keep the camera in the car and never have to replace the SD card (as it should loop). I would only need to look at the SD card on y computer if there was a issue, right?
That is correct. That's the best way to set it up and use it.

I need to be able to review the clips in the same order that they happened IRL. So far, I've tried the various instructions people have recommended, like clicking on the file name to rearrange to that, but have been unsuccessful. You can open up the SD card on your computer and you will see a folder where the protected files are saved. Simply delete the files in that folder.

Frequency default on mine is 60Hz. That makes sense - the US TV system is 60Hz, in the EU I believe it is 50Hz. I suppose it won't make a difference if you never intend to view the video on a TV screen - but if you ever need to edit it on a PC it might make a diff.(??)
I don't think Hz makes any difference while viewing on a PC or phone
When u press the p button does it save the video from then on or from before you pressed the button

if you have it plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet of your car, it should only record when the car is on. if you have it hardwired to your car battery then it is supposed to record when the car shakes or something. that's all i know about that.

That is just the way it works. So it turns on and off when you turn your car on and off. However, if you hard wire it to your car battery, you can it's advanced features such as motion detection and shock detection.

LCD is the little screen on the cam .... off will keep it on or 1 2 3 will delay turning it off ....
I bought the vantru n2 pro. I have loop recording on and set it at 5 minutes. I was under the impression that when I clip the video it will save the last 5 minutes into events folder. But when I clipped it after driving for an hour it only saved the last 40 seconds?
The loop recording setting basically just means that each video clip you record will be 5 minutes long. If the last video before you shut off your cat ignition has only started recording 40 second ago, that's what it will record. The events folder will only keep clips like if it senses shock or if you manually press the P button on the camera. Does that make sense?
The setting you are looking for I think I've covered in the video. Where it saves a certain length of video before you turn your car off.
How do i view and import the sd files on the ipad or iPhone, I’ve tried using the SD card reader for ipad but i cant see the files.

Sorry to comment on an older video, but it's on sale right now. So this camera only records when motion is detected? So it won't record the actual accident in progress, only records the aftermath? Sorry, y'all, I'm new to dash cams.

It records everything from the time you turn on the ignition to when you turn it off. When your SD card gets full, it will record over your oldest video onwards
How’s that 1, 3, 5 minutes recording works? It just records 5 min clips then keeps doing over and over?
Yes while also deleting old video to make up space for new ones.

"9:18-11:20" Can you play back those videos you've saved under the Event, Normal & Photo files on the camera itself on the fly in case your having to say show a police officer an incident that just accrued like a wreck etc? Yes you can play the videos on the dashcam screen and no it doesn't come with an SD card. I have a 128 GB that works great and I'm sure a 256 GB should work fine as well.

You're welcome. Yes if you connect the USB cable that came with it to the side of the camera and the other end into a computer or phone/tablet, you will get an option on the camera LCD to select Mass Storage Device. The SD card will show up as a Mass Storage device and you can access all the videos.

The best, easiest, and fastest way to view videos on your laptop is by taking the SD card out and putting it in an SD card reader which then plugs into your laptop.
How do you delete files?
Hi Uber Driver Now...I set up the camera exactly as shown in your video and recorded on it. However, the 64 GB card shows up as Empty when inserted into my laptop though the video clip plays clearly on the camera itself. Any advice on how to download the content onto the PC. Thanks a lot. Best.
You might have to format it first on your laptop, then insert it into the dashcam and see if it records fine on it. If not, format it again through the dashcam. If those steps don't work, you might have a faulty SD card.
How do I get mine to record continually when I start my truck and drive? Mine seems to shut off after a short time.
Only the display turns off. The camera is recording continuously.
I just bought it. Had it hardwired today. I still need to charge it 2 hours before use, correct? And then after 2 hours, it is ready to go? I shouldn't have to charge it any further, because it is hardwired into my car battery, correct?

Sir I just bought this camera yesterday but when I toggle the lcd screen button the infra red light does not switch on what should I do
The infrared lights are not supposed to turn on bright red. The human eye can't really see it. Since I'm recording the camera from my phone, the phone camera is picking up the infrared light to some extent and shows you the red light.
Can you help me? The key symbol comes on the screen on my camera automatically after about 2 minutes. Is there a way to stop that from happening. If not is that a problem going forward
I've never seen that before. Maybe try calling the company or checking on their website for support?
If you're in the US and Canada, switch the Hz to 60.

@@itsSamRizvi Our electrical system is different from the UK and most of Europe. It's the whole reason why we used NTSC vs PAL. You might get a better performance if you switch to 60hz when plugged in.

It sounds like you got a defective SD card. Did you buy it on eBay? Or some other site? I experienced the same problem and it ended up being a fake SD card.

They are not supposed to come on bright. My phone camera is just picking up on the infrared light and making it look bright. This are infrared lights. The same that are in your TV remote control.
