love crafting with my Cricut! I mainly make stencils to paint on wood, so I have a tip to share for inexpensive materials: I use contact paper from the $1 store! its also good to use for practice since it's way cheaper than blowing through vinyl!
I just got my Cricut last week after thinking about it for YEARS!! I do feel overwhelmed and not sure where to even begin. I'm binging all the how-to and tip videos. Thank you!
I’ve had my Cricut for 18 months & I was so overwhelmed & scared to use it, I just gave up until I watched this video so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’ve joined 3 beginner’s groups on Facebook & I’ve subscribed to both yours & Tanner’s channels!!! Your videos are a God send!!!
Oh my gosh!! I just accidentally came across this video. First time watching you!! And I really enjoyed it and how you're so down to earth. I still consider myself a beginner, and I still have so much to learn. I have watched Auntie Tay before and her videos have helped me along the way. Thanks for your tips! - Melissa
I bought a 'kit' when I bought my cricut. It came with different types of vinyl, 3 mats and several other tools. This gave me everything I needed to get started. And you are right, the learning curve is steep!
I love your comment. The cost of learning. Yay!! After ruining three heat transfer sheets and screens yesterday. (I bought the silhouette screen printing kit and thought it was all good when I tried but nope...)it ironed on not smoothly every time. I still don’t know what to do differently moving forward and it was pretty discouraging. I’m super new to my cricut and that was my first time using htv so... here’s to the cost of learning! 😋 great video!
My cricut air 2 arrives tomorrow and I can’t wait but I’m an absolute novice to this but really want to learn and at 50 you can start at any age learning xxxx
I've watched some very nice videos over the past two days...😣just took the beast out of the box😆...but this was by far the BEST one for me. Very down to earth and real, explained everything in detail and extremely encouraging. This was truly a beginners video. Thank you so much.
I just got my cricket I’m February. I finally got a cut. Then Praise the Lord finally got it peeled. I’m not very tech smart. So this was HUGE. So excited
I hear ya,I bought a explore air 2 in january, and man did my brain hurt learning it at first.I agree with all your suggestions they are the key for sure,it sure does get better as you grow, there sure is alot of enjoyment and satisfaction that comes from seeing what a person can create.the cricut sure is a awesome machine.
This is awesome. I came to this channel because of you lol but wow so glad I ran across this video. I just unboxed my maker and I’m sooooo overwhelmed but excited to do something!! Thank you for all the information! 🙏🏼
Just ordered a machine tonight before it comes in I’m gonna watch as many videos as I can to try and soak info in. I’m a bit intimidated by this but also a super fast learner, and catch onto stuff quickly. I have many friends with machines and they all have said the day you order binge UA-cam lol
Hi! What printer do you use? Do you recommend someone starting out with a Cricut to buy a fancier printer? I’m trying to find a decent printer that will print quality images but not break the bank.
Well done, thank you so much. This has help a lot. All great info. Do you have a list of amazon vinyl that works best and I’ll definitely order the transfer you recommend . Just found you, and I hope you have more video on how to start.
Hi and thank you so much for this video. I just took my Maker out of the box but idk kinda scared to mess things up. Does Cardstock have to be a certain size or anything? Can I practice with some Cardstock I bought at Michaels? I don’t have any kind of supplies at all. I didn’t buy the bundle so just wondering about that. And what does mirroring mean? Does that mean to put vinyl upside down?
My husband bought me the Cricut Maker for Mothers Day. I love the thoughtfulness of this gift but am astonished about the lack of any type of supplies to help me get started. I'm also somewhat dismayed about the lack of directions. I'm not very computer savvy. I can email, shop online and type but my skills are limited. Is there any hope of me ever catching on to this? I spent my entire Mother's day trying to make a card from Walmart card paper, that I already had here, and I never did accomplish it. I'm not even sure if Walmart card paper is a acceptable paper for this machine, but the Cricut didn't come with any guidance and i think I've pretty much read thru it all. Sorry, had to rant! I hope if I stay at it I can learn. If someone could show me the paper I need that would be a big help. I can't even think about vinyl right now. Rant over. Thank you! People like you are going to be only hope!
Lauren, thank you for sharing, your very informative video. But you are tantalising crafters who happen to live outside Canada and the USA. Sadly we don't have an inexpensive, Michaels Craft Store to nip into. With regard to your ultra fully stocked dollar store, I think it's only managed to drift across the ocean on a raft with basic supplies. We can only look in torment from a distance through the shop windows. :)
I saw in other videos that ya'll are using DaFont.com - as a reminder, DaFont.com is only for Personal Use.. you can't sell items with those fonts because they're not for commercial use. It's copyright infringement. You need to buy those fonts to use on items that you are selling.
Please help! I uploaded a picture onto my cricut design space. Everytime I mirror the image it flipes to a grey box Also, it keeps going back to print then cut. I don't know what to do Can anyone help? Thanks!!
Super helpful got my air 2 months before the maker came out and was mad. I would have waited and paid the money. But anyhow have only done about 4 projects, keep buying supplies 😬 but hopefully soon will start using it.
Thanks for the info. Question: I can’t use the svg ‘s off of auntie tays site. The Cricut tells me it’s an unsupported file. I can only use the png files. Any suggestions?
Just bought myself a Cricut explorer air 2 and I’m wondering what kind of laptop to buy to connect with my Cricut. I am currently using my iPhone but I want a mac/apple laptop..
I got a surface pro to use with my Cricut. That way I can use it like a tablet but it runs on software instead of the app, which I've heard is better. Also have the option of drawing and designing own stuff!
