- On February 21st, 2024, officers responded to a shoplifting reported Dillard's after receiving a description. They spotted the suspect, who then fled back into the store, abandoning the stolen items. This is footage of the events that followed.

Good Georgia. I remember in my hometown there were three Black Teachers that were the best Dressed and respected. They got busted in another town for shoplifting and one was the Mayor's Wife. Dillard's had been watching them and finally caught them. You never know what people are in to to get what they have.
Stores are either going to need to go all Online or start checking ID's at the door before they allow people to enter. As we all know, these criminals never have their ID on them so just checking ID's would probably cut the shoplifting problem by 90%.

I was on the jury of a Walmart shoplifting case. We watched store surveillance videos of a grandmother with 2 young teens and a baby. She would open the diaper bag and school backpacks while the teens went and grabbed what they wanted, came back to grandma and shoved stuff in the bags and under the baby in the baby carrier. They went around the store and repeated it with more stuff. Then they start to walk out and got stopped by store security/loss prevention officers. There was 2 too many people on the jury so the judge released myself and another to go. I later found out that NO charges went against grandma!!! She said she had no idea what her 2 grandkids were doing but she will punish them for that. The video was clear and concise!!!

I was a juror on a murder trial, I ended up being an alternate. They had his DNA under her fingernails. I found out it was a hung jury and then the judge acquitted him, wouldn't allow a retrial. I totally understand you frustration.

You know, I work in retail, and we have codes for things like calling for change at a register, or emergencies...if you've shoplifted at a place to the extent that you *know the code they call for a cop coming after a shoplifter*, then maybe you should rethink your life.
