Suzanne Gormley was in Starsky and Hutch as Nurse Cathy Corbett.
So Ira matches "His Drink" (general answer), with "Ripple" (specific answer), but won't match "Sailor" with "Man" because he says one is a specific answer, and one's a general answer. Sure Ira, that makes sense.
Is this riot 3 and 4 now? Could, at that time, a sailor be a women???? Did they have women sailor back then??? Of course the episode before where Gene's was fighting him over hickie, this isn't a good week for Ira judging.. Hasn't even Gene said that they can't match a general with a specific earlier in the history of the show but I have to go with them on the famous game show host, I don't know of any women host in the 70' either game or talk show.. There 3 times Gene's has tried to get a match for someone on an answer, 2 this week alone.. But I have also seen Gene surprise that Ira match an answer as well..
So if Patti had answer Gene Rayburn instead??? That is a specific to a general??? Could you imagine the conversation afterwards.
Pattie: "Gene Rayburn"
Ira Buzz
Gene "Hold on! Ira are you saying I'm not a man?!"
Yeah, and earlier he matched "punch" with "black eye," even though you can punch someone in the stomach, or any other part of the body. Well, it was the 70's, they were all drinking (except Richard), and -probably all on cocaine. I still watch it, though.
"Can't match a generality with a specific." What the heck? They do it all the time. The rule used to be you can't match a specific to a general but they violate that rule all the time too.
So, Gene tried the “pretty dimples” again, even after the Karen Lesko incident! Note the crew breaking up.
Good catch, Derek!
She looks like Karen Lesko too!
What happened in the Karen Lesko incident?
@@pencils812 Gene introduced Karen Lesko and said she had pretty nipples (instead of dimples).
@@pencils812 He slipped and said "pretty nipples" instead of dimples. Karen had a rather full bust.
Another huge screw-over with Ira’s stupid decision. That was WRONG of him.
Actually, there was no screw over. The contestant won the game anyway.
My Pinocchio answer was 'the pool'. Weird that no one else thought of it!
3:00 Don't see that very often
No “Murder on the Orient Express”?! I guess that was too many words for the audience to write.
I thought of "Murder by Death" but just checked and it didn't come out until 1976...
I'm pretty sure they matched "man" and "sailor" before. It's not that you couldn't argue a sailor could be female, but it seems the judgement was quite inconsistent at times.
I wonder how Richard really felt about Ira?🤔
Who cares. ANYONE'S better than saint Richard!
Ira was a reason why Richard left.
6:01 Richard and Brett are laughing about the dimples.
Ira effed up.
It's nice not having commercials every 2 minutes.
I actually would enjoy seeing the original commercials from the 70s
Leslie needed more camera time.
Pinocchio put out the fire by putting his nose into the hostess' business... (Rim shot)

Terry Sonnleitner is beautiful. A classy champ even if she didn't match Richard (8 ball).
Hated to see her leave
@@bmorant1902 I'm going to do that! Those dimples and that smile! I'm in love!
I felt bad for Terry when Susan was brought out! Richard was all kisses her and all the guys where infatuated with the beautiful Susan! Terry was pretty but Susan was off the charts! I'm in love with someone that is probably in her 70's now!😂
@@vikings844 I'd much rather look like Terry than Susan/Suzanne.
Ripple? I remember that. Might as well drink MadDog✌
Gary Burghoff found Brett Somers in his back seat with a _________ .
1. Adult toy
2. Gun
3. Boy scout
4. Severed head
5. Bag of weed.
A. R. Henry an adult toy.
I'm glad to say at least two of those wouldn't have made it past the censors back then. There's no reason to make light of the worst of human depravity.
Drink and ripple are a non specific to a specific so how come it was ok for a point.
Leslie's movie he plugged at the end: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Kill
I've watched a lot of these and the next day they brought a contestant back because the ruling was wrong on matches
The sexual innuendo in this gameshow didn't run, it GALLOPED!
Charles Nelson Riley was gay.
for the movie that Leslie is referencing....www.imdb.com/title/tt0081382/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_106
those last two questions were not of equal difficulty
Marcia's "ripple" but Leslie Nielsen's "punch" didn't? Listen carefully: Gene added "bowl" to Leslie's answer when it was clearly NOT on the card! Ultimately meant nothing as the end result would have stayed the same,...but considering how all over the place the answer judging was, had to bring this up!
A man is a man in general but specifically a sailor and a well known game show host could be a woman. If Patty would have wrote Gene than that would have matched because Gene is a man.
Not back then. In the US Navy, only specific ratings are/were actually sailors, and women were not in those positions then. And, while a woman technically could be a well known game show host, none had been. There weren't any women game show hosts at all, well-known or not.
@@LynxSouth we CAN'T speak for every single country that has a Navy! So it's possible that there were female sailors in other parts of the world
I just watched episode 578, is that Susan in the audience at 6:14? She was wife of a contestant that won 5k! I smell a conspiracy! The question he won with was super easy and Gene gave Susan the ok sign from the stage!
15:53 Stage lights are on due to a double overbid
Someone seems to be have a sore throat this week it sounds like, back to episode 110. ROFL!! Another good episode.. ;0) Funny how everyone else seems to understand Gene in the head to head but Gary???? GR
ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Patti! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Marcia! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Leslie! ;0) Love the entrances, silliness, voices, acting and the fun Gene! ;0) Camera in shot! ;0) I didn't asked the question yet? Man! ;0) Dummy! ;0) Thank you Gene.. ;0) Drink! ;0) toilet! ;0) Bridge! ;0) his honor! ;0) Everything is more crowded
now.. ;0) maid! ;0) cream! ;0)
Marcia is such a funny woman
I see why Ira was cheesed at Dawson.
Murder Inc is good but I'm shocked nobody said murder on the Orient express including the audience participants. Well now Patti actually had the funniest answer of the night which is no surprise, after all she is consistently kooky, one of my all time faves
The problem with Patti is she NEVER tried to match. Countless times there were contestants with 5 matches, like Suzanne here, and the only one they didn't match was Pati. She just could never bring herself to write the definitive answer when there was one.
@@mehboobkm3728 never heard of it, sounds intriguing though, I have heard of the country however
@@mehboobkm3728 I have heard that as well, I've also heard from some Christian theologians that Iraq was also the ancient city of Babylon
Now if folks at GSN would show match game what we never see there, but never show all 73 and all 74 skips 75 and 76 time Game show network show them
There was an earthquake, and a fire, some of those tapes were lost...
Frank Drebin and Mrs. Krabappel!
Where is "The Rule Book" when you need it? I have seen contestants give REALLY broad general answers (that I think should have been pressed for a specific) that matched all the panel's specifics. In this case I think it was justified, they all answered man but used his occupation for comedic effect. So. Stupid.
Although, what if the contestant was specific? Should the other occupations still count? That's where "The Rule Book" would come in handy. Haha. Or they should have rephrased the questions so there was no room for error? Is that even possible? Oh, the English language...
It's not at all a problem with the English language or logic; the problem is all due to Ira, who doesn't know how to use either English OR logic. In basic logic, if the contestant gives a general answer, any specific panelist answer that fits should also match. It may or may not work, in terms of logic, the other way. However, Ira is a really fuzzy and illogical 'thinker', and he's inconsistent to boot. He sometimes allows matches of both types, and other times disallows them. He doesn't even follow his own 'rules'.
@@LynxSouth ira was fixated on her dimples. 😆
I remember when gene was going to tell a young lady, does she had beautiful dimples, and instead he said you have beautiful nipples! And they did air it not too long ago.
EIGHT BALL
Suzanne would be extremely beautiful if she had bangs. It looks like she has a 6 inch forehead like Herman Munster.
Susan was absolutely stunning! Anyone know if she is alive or if she ever had an acting career?
This looks like her:

Suzanne Gormley is an actress, known for Starsky and Hutch (1975) and Match Game (1973). Says she was on Starsky & Hutch
Suzanne looks so much like Minka Kelly it's uncanny
S's voice sounds like jackie kennedy
In the Hostess.
Ira must have been tying to bed the one with those answers not matching
I don't know WHY the audience doesn't groan when the contestant picks saint Richard, then maybe they it would SINK IN that they keep picking the wrong person!! I'm GLAD the contestants lose when they pick him!!!
Folks we found our Karen. Stop whining on every comment you post, it's getting old real fast.
I was surprised by Richard's lack of grace (some might say rudeness) when he said the audience was right to boo or groan the contestant for her answer. He was shifting responsibility from himself to the contestant by insinuating that she had given a bad answer and he had given a good one. Whether true or not, I think it was of uncharacteristic poor taste of him to criticize the contestant like that especially after she'd just failed to win $5,000. Oh well, as you said, she did pick him after all...
Game 2 Susan is a Hottie !!!
Is this where Gene said she had beautiful Ni___s.😁🤣🤣🤣. They banned that one. Oh Gene. Glad they cleaned up the answer. To dimples.👌. I really love this show. Leslie Nielsen was one of my faves
He was such a good comedic actor that he made my 💜 blank.😁. Love, respect and positivity always. Vee J.✌️🖖✨🕯️💕🌻🙂👾👣.
Women are sailors ALSO! 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Is there a female name for "sailor"? So the answer SAILOR could be a man or a woman, right????
18:14 Stop Being Rude to Patti Brett! No wonder you were a mean drunk
I've never seen Leslie Nielsen with his shirt unbuttoned to the navel before. 😍🐺
She has pretty dimples and huuuuge forehead ! Girl needed some hair styling advice there, bangs are her friend 😀
Suzanne was hot!
I skipped this one. 4 commercials is too many.
suzanne is gorgeous
