It's a great story, but that's not how they make movies. The whole song is recorded in a studio, and they are lip syncing on set. Otherwise it doesn't sound good. Also, it's not a multi-camera live production. Every reaction shot you see is the result of hours of camera setups, lighting, etc. I mean he may have improvised in the studio and they worked it into the movie, but what you on screen is not improvisation.
