I cannot begin to tell you how magnificent a performance this was! From the Magnificent beauty of the beginning of the song with slow tenderness and true feeling , it takes your breath away! To the second part of the song where they really rock it and bring the house down this was a fantastic movie and Whoopi Goldberg deserves an award for this outstanding movie !

I have to say, that this musical (and movie!!!!!) is a masterpiece. I can watch it more than 25 years later and have the same emotions, like in the early 90's when I watched this with my mother.
I don't understand why songs in church are sang like someone died. Shouldn't it be happy? Like a celebration for His greatness, mercifulness, and so on. I feel like masses should be filled with joy that God has given His people a day to gather and worship Him. To sing praises and be thank ful for all that he has given. I think more people will go to church more with that kind of atmosphere.

The first song was so memorable. The choral harmonies! The feels. Nostalgia! The bridge of the second song (Sister Act I) where Lauryn Hill and three other ladies were center stage was the highlight of that performance - clean and well blended, soprano high notes!
