I have this major fear: by the time the #COVID19 vaccine is widely available and we can have dine-in restaurants again, so many restaurants will be out of business that the only places left will be fast food chains and large restaurant chains like Denny's and Applebee's. It could be over a decade before we see a large variety of restaurants again.
As soon as the COVID crisis is 'over', new small restaurants will spring up like weeds. All those bankrupt/closed old restaurants = empty restaurants to buy for cheap, plus lots of restaurant stuff to get for low prices.

Literally no one goes to Cheesecake fatory in my state, people dont waste money on mediocre food, they spend it on the super competitive delicous local restaurants that have existed for 30+ years
I stopped by one of the Cheesecake Factory restaurants last week and from my experience, it seemed as though they've cut their budget in the area of properly training employees regarding good customer service skills. I've never been to a restaurant with such a horrible greeting in my life and it was supported by management waiting inside the door at a desk a few feet behind the unfriendly greeter! Inside, there was an almost empty restaurant with the number of cars in the parking lot standing as proof. No hustle and bustle inside as an unsmiling waiter slowly passed by me standing in line to order a piece of cheesecake because they "were so busy" it was going to be at least a 30 minute wait outside in the cold.....So, I reluctantly settled for a piece of my favorite cheesecake to go.... and even ordering that, I was treated as if they were doing me a big favor instead of my business being important to them!! The taste of the red-velvet cheese cake was still delicious despite having to go stand outside in the cold to wait for it (there were 2 people ordering cheese cake and I made up one of them)! Needless to say, the cheese cake counter for to-go orders wasn't busy either. We live approximately an hour and a half away so I am guessing, by the looks of things, many others had all ready experienced the total lack of congenial, humble and just plain basic quality customer service and appreciation! Congratulations to the Cheesecake Factory on 119th Street in Overland Park, Kansas on my award to you..... perhaps the corporate office will use this store as an example and present you with a visit to hopefully change things around so that myself and others who previously thought so highly of the place can still partake in going because personally, I've seen many stores with great food close at the expense of allowing their customer service to go down hill! I really hope this doesn't happen here! COVID is NO exCUSE FOR poor behavior!!
The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite COVID restaurants... Door Dash delivers perfectly (though you need to order with a focus on delivery: choose items like meatloaf/mashed potatoes that travel well and stay away from fried items that have a sauce applied like Chinese-themed fried chicken in sauce as the breading will just be soggy and limp by the time it makes it to your home).
This is mass produced luxury and no body wants to pay to endure awkward rules like masks and social distancing and then the scaled back experience of it all. Instead of going out, private parties and dinners are the likely choice. If you or someone close to you has a nice home featuring a granite bar or island in the kitchen and a patio, it's perfect to do a dinner party just using things like Trader Joes products. I went to Cheesecake Factory last in 2006 paying $30 for a pasta entre, salad, cheesecake slice, and ice tea with no doggy bag which I thought was too expensive. Particularly so for I worked at a Dillard's next door for only $8 an hour. I live 3 blocks from a really nice Cheesecake Factory the past several years, but haven't had it once though noticed it's been mostly closed and no people around the mall since late last March despite it being a nice tourist center area with a really nice mall and walking streets. I've tried to shop the Macy's about 6 months ago, but no inventory to even do curbside by internet order. The malls are finished.
Covid19 didn't derail them, their quality of food yet raising prices did.. If it doesn't taste good straight out the oven to your table think about how bad it will be when you are using carry-out and have to reheat it.. Yuck! Let me also add that whoever was at the top didn't want to adapt and change so that's their fault..
I love the cheese cake factory because they have good customer service, the food doesn't come out to fast and doesn't taste microwaved. Also they let you see the kitchen where your food is prepared. They may be a bit pricey for alot of people, but trust me it is worth the spend

Rule no.2 of dining in the US: avoid any 'factory' restaurant.
Rule no.1: avoid any chain restaurant.
I have to admit. I loved going to TCF back in the day early 2000s. It was a crowd pleaser among friends and family. And it was good for sharing different dishes. Weekends were packed and had a fun atmosphere. I stopped going to TCF when Yelp was at its peak. And it was easy to find out about new and undiscovered restaurants in the city (Seattle). TCF will always have a special place in my heart. Lots of good times and food.
The cheesecakes are good but the food overall is pretty crappy at cheesecake factory.
The cheesecakes are no longer made in-house
@@wilshirebloke they were never made in-House. They are shipped frozen and thawed in the restaurant.
It costs around $8 dollars to make two large cheesecakes at home with leftover ingredients. A single slice at cheesecake factory costs around $8
ua-cam.com/video/269UyNBBRio/v-deo.html
@@carrotcake5058 it would cost way more than 8 dollars to make 2 cheescakes of that size, just the cream cheese alone would be about $45 if you buy a quality brand. That doesn't include the crust or any toppings or fillings.
7:21 "McDonald's has upped their offerings."
Shows the same shiznit they've been selling for 50 years.
Americans: Complaining about not having enough money.
Also Americans: Eat out on a regular basis.
Ok Americans.
It depends on your station in life. For some people $2000 in the bank to go dining is being broke. Because they have to order that bottle of Dom Perignon to drink during dinner.
@Weenie Hut Jr's Thanks for the tips.🌞
Yes, please don't reduce menu options, the variety and quality is what keeps us coming back!🙏💖
Waiters: "If you can't afford to tip, you shouldn't eat out"
*massive decline in full service restaurant business*
Waiters: ".... oh"
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Ain't that the truth!
If restaurants didn't make waiters work only on tips maybe they'd stop asking for tips. 🤔
@@WeAreChecking they're delivering meals now. A driver went viral after she complained about an $8 tip
In America though, if your customer doesnt tip you are working for almost free
Time to change the system in USA finally. In Europe the waiter gets his money from restaurants.
Tips are tips, no salary.
“Two or three times at home.” ...Yeah, portions are large, but there are still a ton of crazy people who eat the entire 1000-2000 meal, and some that even order a desert!
We used to share 2 starters and were filled for dinner at cheesecake factory.
One piece of cheesecake is three servings. So the price is OK.
Merica! 😢
Im honestly not worried about corporate franchise restaurants. I'm more worried about small independently owned restaurants.
Really? You’re worried about a small group of people losing their business over hundreds of thousands of people stuck in the corporate loop losing their jobs and their assets? Emotion definitely overpowers logic, huh.
Does everyone not understand that a corporate pyramid is not just the CEO or other executives, but hundreds of THOUSANDS of workers that make up the tiny legs keeping the company afloat that rely on their corporate benefits and sometimes live paycheck to paycheck? Like you people are blind.
I love Cheesecake Factory
Now I am craving to go there. The fact that there are high calorie food doesn't mean you have to order it.
You can dine light on the same menu.
Oh the Cheese Cake factory, where Penny used to work! Those days!!!
Shut up Sheldon!
The menial job 😂
And it looks just like a cheesecake factory on the show too!.......Not. Looks like a school cafeteria
Everyone says they love cheesecake but every single office party I have ever been to that had one of those pre-sliced platters of multi-flavored cheesecakes barely got touched. It may taste good but it sits like a boulder in your gut so people avoid it because it's too rich, too heavy, too fattening, too...terrible. Cheesecake is terrible. That's the truth.
More than likely because those multi-flavored cheesecakes aren't the best in quality.
He said “NBA stars” and put up a picture of Shannon Brown 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😭😭 leave my man Shannon brown alone 🤬🤬🤣🤣🥲
😭
I noticed Monica, his former wife, first
I got hooked to their cheesecake, and end up gained 30lbs . Am 5’8 and was 117lbs but within 5 month I gained 30lbs from eating cheesecake every day 😬. I used to buy the entire cheesecake every 4-7 days .
You got it admit though their cheesecake is unbelievable. I stopped eating cheesecake for 3months now, and only lost 10lbs. It’s taking way longer to lose weight.
People went for the "atmosphere" Not the quality food.
LMFAOO you ain't lying! Cause the cheesecake factory menu in my neighborhood is trash! But when I go to the one in Houston TX AMAZING!
I hate the atmosphere but go for the food. It really comes down to what you order.
Omg. When I was living in Maryland I loved this place. They finally came to Jersey and now this!!!😥😥
I only watched this because of Penny
Why aren't there more ice cream style trucks driving around? I would totally run out to a truck for food! Kids!!! Pizza truck in the subdivision go get a cheese pizza!! Kids hamburger truck!! Kids cheesecake truck!! Omg we are getting fat eating only off the trucks. Hahahaha
The cheesecake quality has gone down hill, and that was the only reason to go.
Food is somewhat bland too
Oreo cheesecake, Avocado rolls, Fish Tacos! Every single time! I love it!!! Don’t go!
Oh good,I thought it would be the millennials that took the cheesecake factory down.
fat boomers did it
😈
The Cheesecake Factory is thriving better than ever right now!
First time I ate at a Cheesecake factory in the US, the menu was soooo huge, the Cheesecake was so heavy and too rich, the bread is good though.
The only item that I like to eat there was Bangkok Chicken they remove that about 20 years ago so I stopped going. Last year someone gave me a certificate so I went there and the crowd it's what I called ghetto rich.
Ghetto rich 😂😂😂🤣🗣
I like Cheesecake always thought the prices were high though. They don’t offer any specials since covid and prices haven’t changed either. So many other restaurants offer pandemic specials so I think that’s why they are suffering.
I thought all they served was cheese cake. cheese cake gives me stomach aches so I never went in.
I thought that too
U have lactose intolerance
They treated their employees like trash during the pandemic. Employees have the option to pay into an "emergency funds account" The company refused to release the funds during the pandemic. The lying to the shareholders says it all. Not surprised they declined to be interviewed.
Employees? Serving tables is a job for young college or high schooler. When did you morons think it was a career?
@@elal6051 #1. Look up the definition of employee.
#2. What's with the name calling?
#3 You know absolutely NOTHING about the restaurant business.
#4 Go troll someone else.
I never like the idea of eating at a "factory " 😄 went there many years ago with colleagues, ordered a salad, it came with the entire head of iceberg 🥗 in it's original shape, such a turn off🤢
You don't find many normal size customers inside
That’s how it was supposed to come silly. Smh
Omg I once had this in a rather fancy restaurant in Clearwater Beach. It seemed so weird to me😂 but coming from Europe i thought this is the American idea of fancy. Lol
And we'll lose our little local mom&pop gems. 😭
As soon as the COVID crisis is 'over', new small restaurants will spring up like weeds. All those bankrupt/closed old restaurants = empty restaurants to buy for cheap, plus lots of restaurant stuff to get for low prices.
Why do their menus have ads? That is the dumbest thing ever!
Lmao
1:10 Guys!! This video was taken in New York!!
This is the Queens Center Mall Cheesecake Factory. 😊
Pre-pandemic, I used to work as a Busser at The Cheesecake Factory. I used to make anywhere from $21-$27 an hour (including tips). It was an amazing job to have while in school. I hope to see the Chain recover. I would love to go back while I finish Nursing school. Any teenagers out there looking for a high paying, entry level job, cheesecake factory is your best bet.
Their portions are huge!! Gotta watch myself there. Maybe they’d save money if they reduced portions? It’s good but my fatass doesn’t need all that.
I loved their spaghetti and salads.
Literally no one goes to Cheesecake fatory in my state, people dont waste money on mediocre food, they spend it on the super competitive delicous local restaurants that have existed for 30+ years
This looks like it was filmed in the 90’s - the music is terrible and should have been lowered just a little.
I actually like their food but I think it depends on who's making it sometimes
The microwave is the head chef at the Cheesecake Factory, so send your regards. He'd love to hear your opinion.
CNBC is so good at making these mini docs.
Let’s be honest, the only reason the Cheesecake Factory has been open this long is because of their free bread 😂
That's Olive garden
Texas Roadhouse has it too
@@capnsteele3365 you’ve obviously never been to CAKE
Anyone who actually likes their food must be really poor
@@MayorMcheese12 yes, only really poor people are eating there... I have six figure income and own a million dollar house. I must be poor too.
Cheesecake factories by us are always packed. ❤
Stay home and cook. There’s a pandemic going on. You wouldn’t think so reading some of these comments.
I miss Sizzler and Seafood Broiler restaurants specifically!
I imagine the cheesecake factory
As a buffet where there's only sweet stuff 😇
In Texas there can still be an hour wait to be seated in the Cheesecake Factory.
If it was derailed, it is bc they had no imagination to reinvent their business. They had the best chance to succeed if any company did.
Good topic👏
Sad news. I love the Cheesecake Factory and was looking forward to going to eat there after the pandemic ends.
I've never been to a cheesecake factory even tough I love cheesecake and live a mile from one
They have a good happy hour.
It’s not worth it. They’re overpriced and artificially flavored lumps of cream & butter. 🤮
You are not missing a thing.
Covid19 closed restaurants that were on life support. Only the strong ones survived.
BINGO!!!
I love the cheese cake factory because they have good customer service, the food doesn't come out to fast and doesn't taste microwaved. Also they let you see the kitchen where your food is prepared. They may be a bit pricey for alot of people, but trust me it is worth the spend
This place has ok cheesecakes....but a failure as a restaurant.
Before covid.
TRUTH
I agree
This video is worth watching! More of this, please!
even their cheescakes have decreased so much in size
Cheesecake Factory is only located at the fancy mall. Tried to order cheesecake from them, but they don't deliver that far

The Cheesecake Factory is my one true love ❤️
They’re still doing great, they’re just complaining because it’s not more. They’re already moving to have their food and cakes in grocery stores. They’re marketing to restaurants to buy their cheesecakes at the food shows.
Been there twice this year and both times there was at least a 30 min wait. So maybe its in another part of the country.
Yea virginia has restrictions but I went to get 2 slices new years eve and it was a crowd dining in.
There is still no Cheesecake Factory where I live but there is a Barnes and Noble that sells a few flavors of their cheesecake.
One word:
Penny...
Penny, Penny, Penny
When a restaurant has a 21 page menu, they aren't cooking those entrees to order. They are reheating in microwaves hence the mediocrity.
My local Cheesecake Factory has an open kitchen. You see everything being g cooked.
