Thanks to you guys I made a HORRIBLE first impression in the school drop off line today( My daughter's first day of 3rd grade) We were laughing so hard that we got honked at for not moving forward. Then my daughter hopped out when it was her turn and yelled "HELLO FOLKS!" to all the teachers. Lol thank you so much for all you do! Much love from TX!

Hello folks, I'm 13, and love listening to this podcast at night when going to bed, whether it is a new or old episode. Did you know that there is actually a city in Colorado named dinosaur! I has all the street names named after a dinosaur. Just thought that was an interesting fact to share with y'all. Also, if I could, I would like to suggest you do an episode on random abilities. I have an ability of coin rolling, which is one of the weirdest abilities to have. Also stuff like professional pillow fighting. Love the pod.

I’ve been watching since Day One and looking forward to my home state of Colorado finally coming up on the rotation. After 110 episodes of this nonsense, I don’t know why I’m surprised that y’all spent 15 minutes discussing whether Dusty could survive jumping from Tennessee‘s elevation into the ocean. Such a hot Colorado topic! I appreciate Bathtub for desperately trying to teach us about the state, and appreciate Nate for refusing to let that happen. Great work as always, my dudes. Keep it up.

I discovered this podcast a little late in the game and have been trying to catch up. I needed a current episode today but recently watched the last time the elevator conversation came up (trying to watch in order). Nate's reaction was identical to the first time, In fact the whole conversation ran about the same. Nate- "So it lessons it though!" Nate is almost certainly headed towards a future elevator incident, and he's going to try and time the jump. Love the work you all put in. Thank you all!

I caught Nate‘s on Rogan. He started to talk about the bear story and said that he mentions it on his podcast. Rogan asked “you have a podcast?“ And Nate, being the great promoter he is, waved it off and replied, “yeah but no one‘s going to listen to it. Anyway….” and went on with his story. Just wanted Aaron, Dusty and Babblative to know how close y’all were to being promoted to 10 MILLION People. Better luck next time boys.

I didn't realize that comments for this we're going to happen on last week's show but I wanted to put in my piece. When I was a teenager I got to go to a party where most of the members of the Utah Jazz were there along with the owners and the coaches. So I had a basketball signed by Karl Malone John Stockton Jeff hornacek Mark Eaton Pearl Bailey Larry Miller's the owner Frank Layton and Jerry Sloan. I priced that ball it was my most prized possession count 10 years later and I thought it was neatly put away in a box and it's been a pretty harsh winter I get home from work one day and I see the ball peeking out from underneath the snow drift where it had spent the whole winter my 5-year-old apparently had found it. Needless to say the names were basically gone in the ball was flat and I was a sad man. Keep up all the good work guys you guys make every week a little better

Found Nate a few months ago and have been binging his specials and the podcast ever since! Love the show and the whole crew! I believe there is an episode of Myth Busters where they test driving with the windows down vs. using the A/C and the difference was negligible! Also, as a resident of Colorado (more specific Colorado Springs), I loved this episode so much. A few other cool things here are the Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, Seven Falls, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which is considered the highest zoo in North America at 6,714 ft. above sea level. Also, Blue Moon the beer got their start in Denver at the Sandlot Brewery in Coors Field!

I visited Colorado in 2017 with two close friends of mine. We hiked in Sand Dunes National Park one day and stopped at a rough little diner on the way home, the type of place Dusty would feel right at home in. We all made jokes about how the food was going to make us sick. Well as it turns out, all 3 of us got food poisoning. We were scheduled to hike two 14'ers the next day. One friend started throwing up when we started, but me and the other guy are bad friends so we left him and carried on. Between the food poisoning, elevation, and length of the hike, it is still to this day the hardest day of physical activity I've ever had. I've backpacked the Grand Canyon, completed a half-ironman, and finished a 30-mile trail run. None of these come close to hiking at 14,000 feet for 7 hours with food poisoning. That being said, Colorado is a great time, can't wait to go back.

You guys have been a large inspiration lately. A-a-ron when he first lost all that weight and the first time Nate swore off candy made me want to lose weight also.
However, just like Nate, I quickly fell off the wagon just a few days later. It wasn’t until The episode a few weeks ago after a small break when you guys commented how much better Nate was looking and he acknowledged he has successfully kept to his diet/workout plan thanks to the help of his hairdresser I went all in.
I also have to give credit to the tv show ‘Alone’ you guys talked about. I started watching that while I work out and seeing that both Nate can do it and these people on the show basically starve for 60 days I told myself “Man up. If they can do it you can do it.
Thanks for inspiring us each week, even if it’s just to read out loud.

In 1985 a mob of Patriots fans tore down the goalpost at the old Sullivan Stadium after a big win over the Bangles* to clinch a Wild Card Playoff birth. They carried the goalpost out of the stadium and started carrying it up route 1 and ran into a high voltage power line. Five people went to the hospital to be treated for electrical burns. on the topic of goalposts at the front of the end zone. I am a die hard fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL (Canadian Football League).Th goal posts are In the front of the end zone. In the 2019 west division final against our bitter rivals the Winnipeg Bluebombers. On the final play of the game we needed a touchdown and a two point convert to force overtime. Our quarterback Cody Fajardo who was having a spectacular season in his first year as a starter, rung his touchdown throw off the goal post to end our chances of making it to the grey cup. Love the podcast keep it up!

Rental scooter restrictions put me in the dog house on vacation once. My wife and I visited Washington D.C. and I accidentally overbooked us one day. We had 15 minutes to get to our bike tour, and we were about a 35 minute walk from the meet up spot and the closest Uber wasn't going to arrive in time. We were in such a hurry that we rented two Lyme scooters to get there quicker without paying attention to where we could actually ride them. As it turns out, most of the National Mall and areas around it restrict the use of these scooters. So here we were with two scooters that did not work, and we had to cover about two miles. We had to push with our feet like a Razor scooter which was more exhausting than if we just ran to our destination. My wife was NOT happy with me, but we made it on time and didn't get divorced.

I’ve been catching up on episodes, and a few back Aaron said he thinks The Social Network is the “best movie of the aughts.” It actually came out in 2010 but it honestly doesn’t even sniff the best movie of either decade. In fact, almost any Leonardo DiCaprio movie alone from either decade would be a better pick. Don’t even get me started on Moneyball being the “best baseball movie.”

Listening to the latest podcast and heard Nate say he was in Wisconsin Dells. Curiosity got the best of me so I checked Nate's show date and location. By some top-shelf dumb coincidence I happened to stop at the show location on the day you were scheduled to be there. I was passing through the Dells coming back from seeing my mom in the hospital in northern Wisconsin. I needed to walk my dog and just happened to stop by the venue as it had a wooded area around it. I remember seeing a tour bus and a guy walking around talking on the phone. If I had known at the time I certainly would've yelled a "hey bear" for good measure, albeit at the risk of looking insane to the venue workers seeing a random guy yell that into the woods.
The honest to god's truth, I was listening to the podcast while laying on the hospital table getting a vasectomy. I'd like to think that had to be the first. It hurt so darn bad I had to relisten to the first 25 minutes as I didn't remember a thing you all were talking about. Don't let the doctors trick you on it being painless gentlemen. Dignity & trust gone in less than 25 minutes that day. :-)

Hey bear. 🐻 When Breakfast brought up about Juliane Koepcke, I thought, “Hey! I just learned about her!” Another clean podcast/UA-cam show ‘Things I Learned Last Night’ recently did a whole episode about her. Their show is almost the same as this show - researching the internet at a mediocre level about a certain topic and sharing what they learned, all while hilariously poking holes in the content, and each other. The hosts are Jaron Myers and Tim Stone. Jaron is a clean comedian. I’ve often wondered if you guys run in the same circles (you both seem to know John Crist). Their show is definitely worth checking out if it’s not in your radar yet. Both shows are my favorite podcasts to listen to.
‘Nateland’ has been invaluable to me. The “well-researched” content, clean language, thoughts and opinions, and laughs always keep me coming back and wanting more. Essentially, this show has become the “background music” of my life. Extra win: I’ve played this show so often (therefore subjecting my husband to listening) that he’s slowly moving from tolerating it to almost enjoying it. 😊 He loves ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘King of the Hill’, and this is truly the best mash up of both. 😂 Thanks for all that you do folks!
P.S. LOVE the addition of Dusty! We need another conspiracy episode. 🤔

My family went to the ropes course park when we vacationed in Branson a few years back. Nate isn’t kidding when he says it’s high up-the top is about 3 stories high. Somewhere at the top is a full-on zip line where you’re somehow supposed to trust this little harness and single rope to keep you in the air. I stood up there contemplating my “not-zero chance” that I would be the one to die from the rope breaking on the zip line while my little sister passed me by like twice. Ultimately I did the zip line and it was fine. Just fine. Probably wouldn’t do it again.

been a Miami fan for 40 years and I can only think of 1 game that fans rushed the field....after many down years and beaten badly by Syracuse (w/Donovan McNabb) the previous week, Miami played #2 & undefeated UCLA (1998). They won a shootout. Edgerrin James rushed for 299yds. After winning I remember thinking "What the heck....Fans are rushing the field??!! so I had to go too. so fun but you get on the field and then its like "now what do I do?"
I patted Dan Morgan on the shoulder pads and thought he was shorter than I expected. Then Scott Cov8ngton was carried off the field by fans and players.... all the great UM players and Scott Covington is the only one in a regular game to get carried off.

Nate’s elevator but had me laughing hysterically.
But I imagine jumping in the elevator is useless like as if you were to jump on a moving train. You wouldn’t hit the back of the train, you would just jump in the same place because you are both already moving the same speed.
Love the podcasts and thanks for the entertainment gentlemen.

One of my friends in college got a DUI. He was allowed to come and go to serve his 30 hours in jail. He would go in the evening after classes and use the quiet time to study and then sleep there and come back to campus in the morning. He did this 3 or 4 times until his time was served. I had no idea that was allowed.

Colorado and Utah have always been in competition for ski tourism. And until the Winter Olympics drew a lot of attention to Utah Colorado was generally winning by a huge huge huge margin. Well one year, several years before the Olympics we're even an idea. One advantage Salt Lake has over Denver as far as skiing goes is that there are eight ski resorts within 40 minutes of the airport. Most of them are actually closer than that in fact most of them you could get off your airplane and be on the slopes within 40 or 45 minutes. Where in Denver wants you get off a plane you've got two and a half to three and a half hours of driving to get to a resort. So one year long before the Olympics, one of the folks at the Utah tourism Bureau came up with the idea to level the playing field a little bit as far as ski tourism goes. So the Utah tourism board bought up dozens of billboards 30 to 40 minutes outside of Denver and all the signs said were "Ski Utah, if you were here you'd be there by now." Note to self badass campaign got National and international attention and made a change in ski tourism for Utah starting that very season. And it's probably part of the reason why Utah was able to win the Olympic bid for the winter of 2002. Another interesting fact about 22 Winter Olympics was that it was the first real big National event or internationally event since 9/11 had occurred. And President Bush was told by most of his staff and advisors that he should not attend the opening ceremonies which were to be held at Rice Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah. But he said "I will not be scared Away by terrorists!" So he attended the opening ceremonies in Salt Lake end of the time I worked for a telecommunications company in a skyscraper downtown. And during the ceremonies and and many many hours beforehand there were snipers posted on the roof of about $27 buildings all around downtown and the you if you campus. They were ready for anything. It was fascinating!

John Denver wasn’t thought of as “pop country”, he would technically be considered “folk” country. Or a country folk singer. Let’s go folks!

Per Google: “While it is true that everything in a falling elevator will float like in a space capsule but the moment you hit the ground and acceleration of the elevator reduces from “g” to zero, the impact will be fatal. “

Everyone but Aaron might want to reconsider their opinion on prison roommates.. At age 18 I went to prison for 3 years. During my stay I had 2 stints in the hole, one for 48 hours and one for 5 days. That 5 days of isolation felt like it changed me permanently. Humans were DEFINITELY NOT meant to be isolated like that. It also must be mentioned, in that Colorado Supermax the one hour you get out of your cell is in isolation too, in what amounts to an open air cell.. You ain't talking to ANYONE but the guards.

I think I now have the record for the most "hello folks" without a "let's go folks" response. Last week I was in Glacier National Park...hiking every day. Every time we crossed paths with strangers on the trails I said "Hello Folks!" in the friendliest manner. Most were pleasant but apparently zero "folks" in the hiking community. I had fun with it, but the other 5 people I was hiking with hate that phrase after hearing it 2,673 times! If your a folk and a hiker...let's go! Do this!

It's so awkward to watch Rogan these days. He often comes off as the rich kid who's parents had to pay to get another kid to come play with him. And he constantly tries to impress the other kid with things they couldn't care less about. This podcast is far better.

In John Denver’d defense, he initially started out as a folk singer back in the 1960s…so that’s probably why some country music singers didn’t respect him as one of their own. Much like when some members of the folk music scene boo’d Bob Dylan when he switched from playing the acoustic guitar to electric.

The Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City in 2002. And to this day it's still the only Winter Olympics in history that made money. Where the hosting City didn't end up way way in the hole. And they started out in sort of a scandalous way, the guys on the Salt Lake Olympic Committee sort of Grease some Palms to get the Olympics there but then the governor found out about that and all those people were tried in jailed and then the governor called Mitt Romney who had just finished being Massachusetts governor and asked him if he'd like to come and try to sort things out. He agreed and came out and did amazing work for the 2002 Winter Olympics. I'm not a huge Mitt Romney fan but he did a fantastic job with that. Utah is one of two cities left in competition to get the 2030 Winter Olympics. And one big difference between the Salt Lake Winter Games and most others is that Salt Lake maintained all of the Olympic equipment and it is still in use people from all over the world come to train on this equipment and that also makes it so that if we do get the 2030 Olympics it'll be that much less of a cost to put them on. The skating oval the luge the ski jumps are all still in place and in fact you can as a normal person you can go and pay to do the luge Yourself or do the ski jumps. Of course in the summertime if you want to do the ski jumps instead of landing on the snow you land in a swimming pool. Although I've never tried to swim with skis on, it's got to be a difficult task. But that's part of why the Salt Lake Winter Games did not leave Utah in a deep hole. I think Summer Games have a better record of not putting the cities in bad shape.
