Listening to Nate share his humility on this podcast makes me proud to be a fan. I’ve listened to every single episode since the very beginning and I’ve never been disappointed by the content, banter, and general fun this group of personalities have on the Nateland podcast. This is not by accident. Good folks surround themselves with good people and it is refreshing to see comedians like yourselves in the public eye NOT take that for granted. Keep it up Folks!

I loved the "Appreciating the moment" discussion. Recently, my family was waiting to board our plane back home to Nashville. Out of nowhere, my 3 year old daughter asks me "daddy, why is everyone looking at their phones?" I looked around and literally everyone (hundreds of people) had their face buried in their phones. It was disturbing and freaked me out a bit so could only imagine the emotions my daughter was feeling in that moment. I told my daughter, "baby, about 20 years ago before cell phones, people actually looked at each other and talked to each other and this is why we don't allow you to touch our phones because cell phones are silly." her response was "okay daddy". I hope my daughter will forever think cell phones are "silly". Love the show, thanks folks.

Aaron waxing poetic about the wonders of science and genetic food modification that has gifted us the miracle of square watermelons and then having Nate interrupt with “do you think they just put the watermelon in a square box while they grow?” is such a perfect example of their different approaches to life and problem-solving.

I think I speak for everyone when I say it would be awesome to have a Nateland+ or "Nateland Extra" podcast. It seems like almost every episode ends with Nate asking Bouncie House "Is that it?" and Brian says "Yeah, pretty much." I want to know the remaining information that Brian looked up! So there should be an extra mini episode where Brian just quickly goes through the remaining fun facts and the rest of the guys react and then maybe share more road trip stories or upcoming events. If Nate doesn't think he can handle any more time with Brian then he could bail out and the podcast could be called "The B.A.D.land Podcast" for Brian, Aaron, and Dusty.
    Who's with me?!?!

I worked at a small town gas station that was the "cultural hub" of a small town (population 250 rounded up). The other key buildings were a bar Abe Lincoln may have visited and a Lutheran church where my dad was the pastor. This meant that everyone in town had to buy their packaged alcohol, cigarettes, and lottery tickets from the pastor's kid. I got to know some folks in our small town better in the one year I worked at the gas station than the previous 18 years I lived there.
My best friend got a job there too. We got really good at "beer profiling." Someone would walk in, and we would guess what type of beer they would buy. Guys who recently turned 21 are likely to buy Natty Light, people in their 30s or 40s dressed like are going to a barbeque may get But Light or Miller Lite in bottles, and old hunter types of get Stag. Typically, people who smoke Marlboro reds get Budweiser while people who smoke Marlboro lights drink bud light.
Gas stations profit margin are really slim on gas, that's why the convenience store part is so important. I really enjoyed my time working at the gas station.
    I'll go proofread this now.

When I was a kid my sister had a seizure and my parents called 911. The police, fire and ambulance were all dispatched to our house. Once my sister stabilized the firemen were leaving and the EMTs were preparing to take my sister in the ambulance. The firefighter came back into the room and calmly says to my mom “ma’am your kitchen is on fire, we need to cut the power”. My mom tells them that’s just a tator tot that fell in the oven earlier that’s burning. He assured her the wall oven was actually in flames. Nothing like the house catching on fire while the fire department is already in your house.

I am a youth pastor, so I am used to students audibly responding to rhetorical questions or moments in a sermon where they aren’t supposed to. I preached at a funeral this week alongside another guy. When the other guy was sharing some stories and remembering the individual who passed, a grown man in the front row was loudly and awkwardly responding to everything the guy was saying. The guy speaking was a little rattled, but I feel like my years preaching in front of jr. High students had me prepared for this moment. Aaron - would you be available to hire out to help make sure audiences know when enough is enough?

FYI. Not all fuel is the same. I own a chauffeured transportation company and after we switched to only using Shell fuel, we decreased our engine maintenance/issues by about 70%. Discount fuel saves you a few cents up front, but much more later. Of the discount fuel companies, Costco also has high quality fuel.

I’ve worked in refining for over twenty years, and was thoroughly surprised to hear you guys say that the mid grade gas is a blend of the higher and lower octane gas. I was shocked because that’s actually correct. Different gas stations use different additives, but the octane comes from blending higher and lower octane gas together.
Another great blend - mix the cherry and coke slurpees together to make a cherry coke slurpee.

I have to admit that I love this conversation regarding nectarines. Last week I figured maybe it was a mistake to say that a nectarine is a small orange. But this week we're talking about half apple half peach half plum. That 's a big fruit right there. Nate asks - Do you eat the core right there? And then you argue about whether you can eat it or not. It's a Pit guys. Have we never heard of a peach pit. You just got finished explaining that the nectarine is a type of peach. You sound like aliens seeing fruit for the first time in your life. I can see the topic for next week's show - fruit. Keep up the great work. I can't stop laughing listening to you all.

I agree with Aaron and his philosophical view of gas stations. I also think the same could be said of this podcast, having something for everyone. I listen at night after my kids are in bed and I'm cleaning up the house. My husband makes tea for himself but I don't drink it because to me, hot tea is just hot dirty water. My husband also had a planet fitness membership before we met and for the first 7 years of our marriage until I nagged him enough that he sent in his cancellation letter. My husband also has gout and had to flare ups that sent him to the ER while I was still in the hospital after the birth of our children.
Also, Dusty thanks for taking me back to my 5 years of working at KFC, Shoes for Crews! if you didn't wear them, you could quite literally break your neck.

Oregonians (as a general statement) were not freaking out over having to pump our own gas..... most of us in the east side of the state were HAPPY! Finally we are able to get out, pump the fuel, and get on our way without having to wait on someone to do it for us or wait in huge lines like they do in the cities! The person saying we all freaked out must be from the West side of the state, that explains a lot. 😉😏

Just last week my husband and I were debating not turning your car off while pumping gas and getting back in the car while pumping. I looked up the chances of a fire or explosion on The Goog and it was like 1 in FIVE BILLION. I leave the car on AND get back in it. I'm livin on the edge.

Let’s go folks! I’m on a mission to listen to every episode before Nate comes to my town, Sioux Falls, SD on Oct 15. I started in August and I’m listening at work at 2x speed because of the time crunch and have 51 episodes to go and 11 work days left. I love that there is a podcast where the hosts talk about anything from pretending to be a guy on his porch that has the same rules as the royal family to if you should test screws that hit you in case they were from space junk. Love the podcast so much! Keep up the good work Nate, Aaron and Bubble! Also, it’s pronounced “freeze” and not “fries-e”

At first when Nate was talking about living in the moment I was really confused. But then I started to understand what he meant. There was a time when I was pretty addicted to entertainment and my phone and I did not realize that I was checking out from my real life. I started to notice that joy was more elusive and my mental health was suffering as a result of not being present. There were other life circumstances and a disorder that contributed. Now, after about a year of practicing mindfulness, going to therapy and making conscious efforts to invest more in my real life and make the most of every day, I am proud to say that I am much happier and less distracted. Love the podcast and the profound ideas that usually seem nonsensical at first.

I mean I’ve loved Dusty’s addition to this podcast but I’m fully convinced with this episode. Dusty kills with random anecdotes and conspiracies and I’ve been reading comments about Nate’s hoarse voice and feeling disappointed with people not understanding that this is the result of the profession

Listened to this episode yesterday and then last night my wife and I went to a concert at a south Texas honky-tonk. We were standing along a railing, enjoying the performance, when the guy beside us started banging his ring on the railing as if he was part of the percussion section of the band. Super annoying to everyone around! I had given him the stink-eye twice to no avail, and then...emboldened by Aaron's machismo, I turned boldly to this fella and said "Enough!!!"
However, I had forgotten to factor in that I am a 53 year old man that is 5'11" and 175lbs and Aaron is...well...larger. Much much larger.
I'm now in the Texas Medclinic getting stitches over my right eye.
Just wondering if there should be a "Do not try this at home" warning on this episode? Love the show boys...keep em comin!

When y'all were talking about icees and slurpees, Dusty mentioned he loved the dog mascot and then y'all shut him down saying it was a polar bear. He was thinking about Slush Puppies. That's what we had in our mom n pop gas stations in West Georgia, especially by the trailer parks. I'm sure that's what Dusty found in East Alabama gas stations as well.

Definitely appreciate the real moments or "rants" like this episode had. Don't feel obligated to get back to the topic when something real hits you it's cool to see you run with the thought process because it's relatable.

Guys. My father, when he was a child used to throw a Lit match straight into a bucket of gasoline and it wouldn’t flare up. It would go out. He’d win bets with that trick all the time. Granted this was the early 60s. But still. He always said it was the fumes that flared and not the liquid. Much love guys.

We moved to Oregon from Arizona when I was 14. It’s about a 2 day drive and when we crossed over the OR state line we stopped to get gas. My dad gets out to fill up the car like he’s done for the last 30+ years of his life, and the gas attendant (who looks to be a 16 year old high school student) comes over and asks if he can help my dad. My dad looks at him with a confused look on his face and says “no thank you, I got it”. Then the attendant politely explained that it’s illegal to pump your own gas in OR, and it’s been the bane of my dad’s existence ever since. He loves going on road trips mostly because he gets to pump his own gas.

Loved Nate’s “rant”, good stuff! As always dusty cracks me up. Brian’s face waiting for everyone to finish so he can move on is hilarious and Aaron’s laugh is the best! I just love all of your unique personalities!

In Australia, we call them petrol stations or service stations, but most commonly in our general vernacular, we call them a servo. The name service station was more common from when there was an in-house mechanic workshop at the petrol station, or you could top up your engine oil with the free bottles of oil in a rack between the pumps. Nowadays, with about 99% of the service stations also being convenience stores we still use the name servo even though it would be less than a third of the petrol stations that are actually service stations.

Dusty, I am 100% with you on the inconveniences at the gas pump! If any of those things happen I’m just throwing up duces. My husband calls these “first world problems”, but no way I’m waiting around for slow pumping gas & I’ll be darned if I’m going walk inside to sort this whole thing out. I’m just gonna mosey on over to another gas station that allows to me the antisocial hermit that I am 😂✌🏼
