This song reminds me of some of the best days of my childhood. Its funny how such a simple song can make you look back with such longing and reverance.
Great song. Was briefly in the movie "Can't Buy Me Love" in the back-to-school pool party scene early on. Sadly, Amanda Peterson, female lead as Cindy, died in 2015. She was 43.
Biggest mistake I made during the 1980s was not going to see the Cutting Crew open for Starship Summer 1987. I had to work and did not make an effort to get time off. Two awesome, talented acts. Nick Van Eade always reminded me of someone I knew early in life, he always seemed so cool and upbeat to me.
+Davin Dx I saw them on that tour, only I really didn't know who they were at the time. I'd heard "(I Just) Died In Your Arms", but nothing else. The only reason we were at the show is that they were playing at Kings Dominion in Virginia, and my mom happened to be at the park that weekend. Starship was okay but forgettable, but CC knocked me out! If they weren't playing an outdoor amphitheatre, they'd have blown the roof off. I went home and bought the album, and have been a fan ever since.
@@autographedcat I thought this band was awesome and I already heard about three of their songs by the summer of 1987 I can only imagine how stupendous they were live
El segundo The Scattering no tuvo tanto.
This is a classic case of an awesome and naturally talented band who suffered at the hands of the music industry never really getting the credit they deserved. McMichael and Eede were a tremendous songwriting partnership which tragically ended too early. Best thing to come out of the 80's by a long way
Absolutely Bloody Brilliant..I'm just gonna have to try and get my hands on the DVD version of this concert..I wish I'd seen them live back in the 80's...Damn
Thank you Jen Talaber,it is good to know that others feel about Nick's voice in same way. This song is one of those which stay in the memory. The timeless one
There are rare songs, that people will collect like rubies(more rare than diamonds). And a true collector brings them out to show others, that he has a deeper appreciation for gems. I've always carried this one with me. It may not have thrown the light of diamond upon release, but you sure can still feel the energy. Your right driftingtheworld. Most of this was heard to the rolling hills of Westlake in Austin.
saw then in London 1990, great live band r.i.p guitarist ,he also played with Robert plant at Glastonbury I remember , carnt they get back together please please
:: I bought the cassette tape here in Mexico, after I saw the bland playing this on 'Solid Gold' and the entire album is class. The compact disc also I got. It has remixed version of the 4 main songs, 'Any Colour', I've Been In Love Before too. Fear Of Falling, Life In A dangerous time, Sahara...whoa! Excellent Album! This is the music I listened too when I was 15.
Oh. By the way everyone. The song was in the movie "Valley Girl". With Nicholas Cage and Deborah(HOT)Foreman. Music in the movie was mainly top notch of the times("I Melt with You"-Modern English). This song is played at the party Nick crashes early in the film. Valley girls...did that just give you a funky ass slap in the face or what. 1983
That's how good they where. It's 100% live. You can tell by all the little detail in the vocals and all the instruments. But you'd have to be a musician to pick up on that... 😉
RIP Cutting Crew guitarist Kevin MacMichael (1951-2002)
WELL LOVED AMEN
indeed 🙏🎸
So sad 😭💔🙏
And the drummer frostie😢🤲
this band is my best from the 80s along with the outfield. cutting crew is the best live performing band i have seen
Yooo bangin' on with The Outfield and Cutting Crew
This song reminds me of some of the best days of my childhood. Its funny how such a simple song can make you look back with such longing and reverance.

Man I love this song. It is one of the 80's best. I feel 24 again... for a few minutes anyway! :)
Anyone else here in 2022???? For some reason I woke up and this song was playing in my head.....
Great song. Was briefly in the movie "Can't Buy Me Love" in the back-to-school pool party scene early on. Sadly, Amanda Peterson, female lead as Cindy, died in 2015. She was 43.
Another great 80's tune! This song always makes me think of the movie Can't Buy Me Love.
I've been looking for that song for almost 15 years now and then heard it again in the soundtrack of the 80s movie Can't buy me love!!! Great!!!
I absolutely love that "o-o-o-o-ow!" :D
Don't sleep on "I've Been in Love Before", "A Year in the Wilderness", etc. ...This band was great. RIP Kevin...
Only true music lovers dig this song. Such melody and like someone else mentioned - great hooks on this album.

Igualmente para mí, es un ícono......... pero en mi vida esta canción !
Somebody listening in 2021?
Heard this on Sirius 80s on 8 on the way back home from my brother's home. I guess I must have missed this one little gem by The Cutting Crew.

This song alway reminds me of the last family holiday I went on as a teenager. I lived in my head with it.
I loved this song and the energy! Thanks for the upload!
Love that the bass player is playing a Jaydee. The song reminds me of being 17 and a girl called Catherine.
From Your pic, they did a cracking job with Op Mate. 😁 yeah I picked up on the JD, I wish Mark K would go back to playing them. Cheers.
Man! These guys were great live! Thanks so much for sharing!
This song went under the radar. I died in your arms was the main song that overshadowed the rest. I loved this the most back in the day
I've Been In Love Before is still one of my favorites.
I agree this song was the bonus track that

Saw them live last night as part of the 80's Mania line up at The Palais here in Melbourne. Loved it! (Even met Paul Young!)
What was he like to speak to? He always comes across so well in interviews. The reason he started to sing was to overcome a stammer.
Me too. Great band, great voice.Love them

The one who died was lead guitarist Kevin, not lead singer Nik
The song was in the party seen in "Valley Girl" 1983, it heralded the rise of Nicholas Cage. It's at the beginning.
