Also, to those who make it through the surgery more or less unscathed the A-V system is a pretty solid upgrade. The Reuse-P means that even if everything goes right you'll never have full function outside of a MS cockpit again.

the psycho zaku is based on the high mobility type zaku, and the high mobility itself internally is basically internaly identicle to the gelgoog, they were develop somewhat the same time, you can look up in the lore or kakarot97 i recommend it
To be fair, some pilots prefered the Zaku over them because of it's reliability and ease to pilot compared to Gelgoog. And Rick Dom lacks customization options for ace pilots. Johnny Ridden after his HiMo Gelgoog got destroyed, rebiult and customized his Zaku R-2 into the 'Full Bullet' Zaku, for example.
ehhhhhhh .yes and no. psychoframe technically does a better job than the psycho device (because it can control even remote weaponry and without need of a direct connection to a pilot) but psychoframe needs newtype mental energy to fully work (as the unicorn era MS show, oldtype use weapons with psychoframe are still limited to incoms and similar weapons which makes their use a moot point) while the psycho device is at least oldtype compatible from the start

阿頼耶識はまず使うために脊髄にピアス埋め込まなきゃいけないし、手術に失敗すると天に召されるか病院で寝たきりになる。さらに機体のリミッターを解除すると体に何かしら機能不全が起こる。最悪の場合は天に召される。
RPSはまず使うために四肢を切断しなきゃいけない。デメリットはそれくらい。
元々は四肢を失っても戦えるようにっていう形だったんだけど、第2部だと量産されて人為的に切り落として乗るような地獄になった。
赤い塗装は何処まで行っても赤い彗星のようにはなれない偽物と言う暗示だったんだろうな
