This worked! I was trying to have someone else connect to my printer this time, so I did not need to download the app. Hope this helps if anyone is trying to connect a second person to this.
I'm not blaming you but my experience with this setup has been a complete nightmare. It won't even print the wifi password as you demonstrate. I can't complete the HP+ app setup for some reason. Previous gen HP setup (HP 4522) was no problem. I'm very nearly ready to chuck it out.

Can we connect mackbook to printer with usb-c or not?
yes this does not work it keeps saying no wifi direct hooked up and they want $9.99 per month for a driver. have to try another site
I HATE THIS PRINTER AND HP SO MUCH. WHY HAVE THEY MADE IT SO COMPLICATED.
Just wait until if fails and out of warranty........they want $19.95 to trouble shoot it!!! Conclusion, throw it out!
I spent many hours trying to set mine up. I had to get my son to help me.......and, it took him a long time. HP said to use a smart phone to set it up........HA!! I don't have a smart phone!! Hours and hours to set up!! Worked satisfactorily for awhile and then just quit. Won't print/copy/do anything. see below.......
