I am on OMAD and am just starting Day 2 of a 7 Day water fast... however I do drink some lemon water with salt twice a day for the potassium and sodium electrolytes...
Loved this podcast! The diverse viewpoints on fasting reflect the complexity of the topic and highlight the importance of considering individual circumstances and beliefs when evaluating its merits and drawbacks. Thank you for always providing the most interesting information on a variety of topics!
I was just coming on to post this. Great video. But frustrating that these experts can’t agree on this, as well as other things like risks, proper way to fast etc.
It seems that it's better to eat it, and have your last meal of the day at around 6PM. That's what Dr Scharffenberg also does. I'm sure Dr Howard Tucker also doesn't skip breakfast.
breakfast thing is still controversial since a broken family putting less importance on nutrition tend to skip breakfast and have more health problems. you need to eliminate confounding factors to avoid misleading conclusions

Im only half way through but is he having scientist with opposite views or am i missing something? And is the second guy discrediting fasting becsuse people dont have self control?
DR Valter Longo is wrong... on so many levels. He is basing all his info off food study questionnaires m, which are extremely FLAWED. People who eat breakfast seem healthier? Yeah... that could be healthy user bias... Some people fatten easier than others. We are not all the same. THE ONLY real expert here is Dr Jason Fung. He's right on the money and actually helping people. The first guy is okay but he's a weirdo vegan who should only talk about fasting....

Are you implying that you are coming out of water fasting for adding lemon and salt?
@@jason7638 I'm not sure whether the lemon water breaks the fast or not...
The lemon breaks it. You can see it by measuring your ketones.
I fast Two - 24 hour fasts twice a week and eat only breakfast and lunch for the existing 5 days with a lean Keto like diet.

Dr Jason Fung is the ONLY person who makes sense out of these "experts." Using observational food questionnaire studies.... PUHLEASE....

Whenever you have your first meal IS breakfast…because you are BREAKING the FAST.
You know...I never really thought about it.
Your a genius.
@@gympho1 Apparently it is 😂😂
Yeaaah, he also got his "facts" from food questionnaires!!! Lol
The more whole the food.. the less processed (heated/cooked) ..the better
This is really true! Got gallstone from 18:6fasting and Keto..
You "got gallstone"? Was that a typo or side effect?😮
It was from the keto diet.
Could some name the gentleman in the interview that discussed the gallstones please? His information was quite eye opening.
