This game was so ahead of its time, the graphics the sound effects the battle combos and the fetalities all are insane, this game is a classic and definitely one of the best games in the history of video games, and the developers who mad this masterpiece are geniuses, to this day its still one of the few games that are actually playable

This really brings back memories because you had the movie in theaters, and MK3 in the arcades. There was no internet so you watched people play or asked how they did a combo or finisher. You had gaming magazines too. The arcade version of mk3 is so superior to any home console version too. I was in middle school when this came out. Sadly a year or two later arcades started being closed down but imagine a crowd of people hovering over an mk3 cab to watch people vs.
I remember the 1st MK🐉 machine being revealed @ a movie theatre near my house. One of the game developers was there to demo the game against any challenger for free. It was a big crowd. "Toasty!"😁🔥🐲

I personally like the new ones , although I’m younger so I didn’t get to play the arcade . I do have the arcade 1 up and find it enjoyable just wish I knew how to do the fatalities and better combos .

Dan Forden nailed the sounds effects with those Boombastic hits and screams when they get crushed. The stage themes are also excellent. My favorite is the Cathedral stage theme.
That laugh during the gameplay is so sinister and awesome at the same time!!!! Sound effects as well as cool backgrounds and characters is what separated these Mortal Kombat games at the arcades!!! Of course the fatalities too!!!!! Best fight game ever!!!!

@@robertbodnar8745 They're easier than they look. You can often bait Motaro into jumping and he tends to drop his block halfway through a combo. Shao Kahn loves doing the Knee Uppercut. And when he decides to be stupid, he'll just stand there and taunt you, leaving him wide open. Not saying they're pushovers, just not impossibly hard, either. In fact, I could beat UMK3 multiple times on one coin by beating Kahn and then using the code at the end to choose Super Endurance, which, IIRC, would bring me back to the start if cleared.
