I love how this is pretty much how fighting a Dark Souls Boss feels like, Rick even tried different strategies and summoned a couple of NPCs to help him.
Basically doing what the vikings did. Die, fight again, repeat

I love how everyone thought the episode was going to be centered around the afterlife and Diane but it just turned out to be a whacky random adventure 😂
This was the worst part of the episode.

My biggest turn-on is when Rick and Morty edgelords over-thought-out fan theories are hilariously torn apart and ignored.

I love how Rick insists on the guteral "POOOOOOOOOOPE" every single time. Really gives "Dormamu, i've come to bargain" vibes. Also, love they dont give him a name or anything, leading to great lines like "its over *the pope* "
1:12 - Morty just killed that guy with a random candstick so easily. He really is a badass at this point.
And yet i feel like he got extremely nerfed in the rick prime fight, just to make Evil Morty look more badass.

If both morty's were badasses then the big reveal at the end wouldn't have that much of a punchline.
@elcalabozodelandroide2 yeah, I get that, but Morty deserved better than only saving Evil Morty's life with the Prime Rick robot (which is a little impressive), like he could have come up with a plan to switch places with EM or been more involved in the fighting. In the end, he was mostly a cheerleader and comfort doll for Rick.

The “Poooooope” yell is also very reminiscent of Jeff at the end of Paintball yelling “Deeeean!” As he barges into his office for the climax.
Dunno if I'm just getting used to the voices or what, but while Morty definitely still sounds an octave off, Rick is absolutely on point this episode. Those repeated 'Pope!' screams honestly could've been Justin.
Im just glad people accept it. Honestly im glad they took people who sound like the original, and didn’t go the solar oposites route.
Rick's been on point since episode 3 save the famous spaghetti line.
The voice actor was excellent in unmortricken

The new Rick va totally nailed the Rick battle cry. Mortys VA is doing great too but it definitely sounds like an deeper into puberty take on Morty
Honestly i don't mind the voice drop. Really sells that morty is growing. Can even retcon it as morty hit puberty.
This is like a Dark Souls boss fight against the Pope even down to the enemies regenerating every time and then charging in with only slightly altered plans
To be honest, it’s been a while since Rick and Morty didn’t go on some classic adventures, they were dealing with too much serious/individual stuff lately
It was quite a breath of fresh air
And I like the fact that their relationship seems... healthier? I mean, Rick tried morty's idea, apologised when it didn't work, and they both moved on from it. That would not have hapened in prior seasons.
Yup tho the alphabeth episode or how is it called was a trainwreck
So they shouldn't go too goofy
And I think the writers understood that and it got them to this episode, which I really enjoyed

@@TimothyGod same, as someone who grew up watching the cheesy 80's-90's movies that it parodies, I thoroughly enjoyed Numericons. Easily top 3 of the season for me. Honestly I feel like I'm the exact target audience they make this show for, because I've never been badly disappointed by a single episode. I have my least favorites, but they're all good to varying degrees imo.

The writers made it clear their stance on "you missed" notes BUT it's crazy how the brought back Rick's Promortyus armor and didn't give Morty a laser-whip. Could've even had him "slice his dick off" in that short moment just before the Pope blast.
Rick using a pokeball to catch the pope was freaking awesome and funny. He's like NO! And then it played music after he gets caught

You can catch actual pokemon god in the games. The pope seems like a down grade. So totally doable for Rick.
To be fair, Arceus just gives you an ‘avatar’ of himself that totally explains why his signature move didn’t by default, automatically changes to match type weakness and have a 300+ or higher dmg modifier and ignores invulnerability/semi invulerability states.
Legends arceus did a good job to flex what happens when super goat with a fence tutu holds back a little less, via ORIGIN PLATE and really made it canon you never got his real form that would be where he actually makes use of his ‘thousand arms, when already in a previous entry, he can use his avatar to casually create a new copy of one of his ‘three children’ of time/space/void as a lil OP babee legendary to make use of.

Pokémon is already a ‘kids game’ that is more inconsistent with its Pokédex entries cause likely it’s a bunch of 10’year olds writing it instead of the actual professors who study the dang things checking and submitting actual facts instead.
Doesn’t help they change the entries literally every entry by making it flavor text to make it hold even less weight when you have a literal psychic waifu who can make black holes destroy likely a whole country and itself since the black hole would just succ everything around it to fuel its growth till it eats the planet or anime’logic implies and someone throws a hyper beam at it and it destroys the black hole despite it would just succ the energy itself.
Ultimately, just like how scarlet/violet gives no FUCKs to quality control, gamefreak, the Pokémon company and Nintendo gives no fks to its ingame anime/lore consistency since it can just suddenly make a Turtle, yes I’m talking about terapagos, just work in entirely two different ways in both the anime and video game,
But that’s what you get when they make a god damn marketable plushie legendary with multiple forms to sell various plushies of it and with ogrepon they gave it a bunch of masks so they can either have ogrepon GACHA boxes to get one of the random masks or some expensive bundle deal to get all 4 together and a ‘shiny ogrepon’ instead of the one you have to buy separately that either comes with the grass mask or not.
Face it, pokemon as a whole gave up on its focus on the anime and game and are just full on shill mode to sell merchandise instead to make all the moneys with the least amount of effort needed, where they can likely let the games collapse and likely still make profits on the merchandise and just push even more on the tv show and movies being more of AD ware for the merchandise instead.

I mean it could have easily been a different rick/morty then the ‘main’ one and maybe Rick wanted to actually have a fun adventure then get things over with by pulling a dik move to shut down the pope’s opening nuke.
Hell with the Pokémon reference it could probably be he was aiming for the pope to run out of ‘power points by using the same move over and over or the ‘trainer’ aka God got tired of it so he shut off the infinite power source to focus on something else.
The real Pokemon folks better make a pokeball that looks like this one as a crossover gag 😂

I mean, not really? I stopped watching Death Battle after how blatant their favoritism is. If it isn't DC then they base it off of who's been running longer OR who owns the IP and funds them at the same time. They're just biased. Never even saw that episode lol.
Neither of them are invincible and both are genius level, gadget overflowing, experienced space adventures. It was going to be close before getting to how often Rick has been shown to die/brush with death once an opponent is equipped enough.
