Don’t be jealous of your friends traveling with older children. That time for you will be here in the blink of an eye! Always remember, the days are long, but the years are SHORT! Thank you for doing your podcast. I’m enjoying it immensely!
If good parenting - disciplining your children - makes other people have a negative impression of you, then the fault is with them, not you. You are doing just what you should do.
Never feel quilty for disciplining your kids. So many parents today don't. Your kids will grow up binging respectful to others. And that will show what wonderful parents they have.
I want to say, I'm super impressed with Lila's perfect boldness into the microphone. I think this is the first time I've seen her not turn shy in front of the camera/mic. She's such a joy. What great kids you have!
I love this family and miss them so much. I miss watching them once a week when the show aired. Thank you Zach and Tori for doing this podcast. I love it when the kids get to join you. I think you both are doing a great job raising your kids. You got a lot of fans all over the world who tune into the podcast, because we miss you on the small screen. Hugs and love from Wisconsin.
I'm almost 60, and still waiting to travel. We've struggled finally all our marriage. Anywhere in Europe is on my bucket list. We've been able to do 2 big trips with our kids. They're grown now. Enjoy the time with them while they're little. It goes by so fast
So cool about your tour of the White house. I also had the privilege in 1978, being Canadian I didn't even know it was possible, so finding myself in line with a small group to go in to tour was so exhilarating! I was totally overwhelmed!
Traveling is SO enriching for all ages. You don't have to do it a lot, but shoot for twice a year -- one bigger adventure and one smaller local adventure. Visiting other places, other communities, other personalities, other landscapes, other regional cultures, will make both you and your kids better humans. Kids don't necessarily appreciate it when they're young, but they can look back later and appreciate it more, and it truly accelerates their brain growth. I'm so glad my parents took us camping every year and road trips to different states. I got to go to France when I was 15 as a nanny for 2 weeks. My oldest boy went to Peru with his class when he was 14. My youngest boy saved money as a young adult to go to Japan. My oldest daughter went to Germany & Africa. We gave them the travel bug young -- it's so great! And it gets better & better as they grow. Good job, Roloffs! ❤
I was also honored to be able to visit the White House. My sister lives in DC and she got us VIP tour of the White House, she had some connections. It was AMAZING!
So relate Tori! I also only listen to books as opposed to read them and my husband is always trying to talk to me with my air pods in my ears. I lost one air pod at a hotel and the one remaining had water damage 😢. BUT my husband bought me new ones for my birthday today! I have a 9 year old and 15 year old and traveling is so fun now.
When I was growing up my family went on a car drive vacation every year. Always in the US. GO TO SCOTLAND!!! It's the most lovely place and so amazing. The scenery and landscapes are beautiful. It's a once in a lifetime. I was there for 12 days in Sept 2019. Home base was Galsgow and went on day trips. Castles and pubs so cool!
We took 4 kids 15, 8, 7, &5 years old across from California to Iowa. Our 2nd grader when he got back to school , they were learning about the plain States , and Our son said he had been to all the places.
Thank you for a great experience this summer and telling us all about the fun 🎉! Keep up great work! Parenting is hard so hard at times, but so rewarding!
Hello Zack and Tori good to see you guys....So proud of your babies getting to do something fun abd what they love and got medals to us awesome....I hate to read so the audio book is my go to I love it...
I listen to audible books only. I can do so much while listening. And yes it counts as reading a book, IMO. TFS. Scotland would be a great anniversary present for Tori. I bet your mom would come watch the kids. 😊
Love your podcast. You are doing a great job. Look forward each week to hearing about your family and how you are navigating your way through parenthood.
I really resonated with what you said Zack about conditioning and having timescales with where your child should be according to this unwritten set of targets and its exhausting as a parent to just stop and let them grow up without so much pent up stress to fit a set criteria. It really got me thinking and also got me re-eveluating my decisions 😅 thank you amazing episode yet again Tori and Zack, look forward to the next one!
I’m jelly on you visiting the White House and Washington DC, it’s my bucket list place. What’s with visiting Scotland Tori? I love the bagpipes and the accents, haven’t been but where I live in DUNEDIN New Zealand is Edinburgh of the south, so you come here too!
Just amazing and soooooooo beautiful...what a connection, just amazing...lov u 2 so very much...Your doing an outstanding superlative job on all counts!!! God the Father is with you all
I just absolutely love listening to y'all 2 speak! I love how much you love each other and your kids and your experiences, your both so "normal" and I just love that I'm "normal" 😆! Love y'alls topics!
I found this to be an excellent video🎉 I was blessed as a young child to travel thru the White house and now at 60 its a wonderful memory. Go to San Diego ❤
Great podcast!! We took the kids to DC and it was the best family trip ever. Go again when the kids are older. I promise they will appreciate it when they're a little bit older. ❤❤❤❤
As someone else said, continue traveling with the kids but also know how much the kids can take according to what you're doing (like the tournaments). But I have great memories of family trips as a kid, and I'm 66 years old. And don't feel bad for disciplining your kids in public; more parents should do that.
Zach, I often think we move to fast now... and then don't allow time for our brains to catch up. A trotting pony is fast enough for me! ( although I have a car and occasionally fly!)
Sounds like you had a great time overall! Parenting can be hard at anytime, but it seems especially while you’re traveling can be quite taxing!! I would’ve loved to have seen pictures of your trip!!
The thing about children is they don’t give you any prewarning on when the blow up or overwhelm you, stress is real when you are a parent. Surround yourself with parents who can give you advice and calm you down. But don’t worry, your doing great, have patience life is a journey. 😊❤
You would love Scotland we holiday there most years ,but im in the uk so not a huge flight etc , you should do a whole uk tour its so full of history and things to do

Tori do not beat yourself up! I have a 35 yr old son, soon to be 28 yr old daughter, and a 12 yr son. My youngest and I took a direct flight from Austin to Orlando . My 12 yr old seen the flight attendant on Delta giving the kids in front of us fruit snacks. He did have his snacks and it made me so proud to see him offer his own haribo candy and fruit snacks with the poor kids (his words)! I told him to be thankful just for the opportunity to be able to fly and go out of state for a 2 week vacation. We just moved to Gatesville, Texas last November and there are many of kids that have never left the city of Gatesville their whole life! All they know is WalMart, H-E-B, and the dollar tree! They never even seen a Hobby Lobby more less know what kind of store it is!
I absolutely LOVE DC! And it is amazing on the 4th of July! Great restaurants, amazing museums, monuments, rich history!! And, I say this as a patriot with love and sadness-DC is a very clean city, but that’s because the “dirt” that happens is in the corruption in the belly of the town, in secret rooms…
Don’t be jealous of your friends traveling with older children. That time for you will be here in the blink of an eye! Always remember, the days are long, but the years are SHORT! Thank you for doing your podcast. I’m enjoying it immensely!

YOU WILL LOVE SCOTLAND!!!!!
Love you got to spend some time in DC. So much to do and see! Which Smithsonian museum did you go to? My favorite is the Air and Space museum.

The humidity in Baltimore & D.C. is higher than the temperature in the summer months. It’s a twice a day shower. Lol
I really like listening to your Raising Heights! What source do you use to listen to audiobooks, Tori? I’d like to listen to the Bridgerton series. I’m like you, I can get so much done listening to an audiobook.
Going to Scotland in September just me and my husband, without the kids of course because they are 21 and 29. One day Tory, you will go.
Reading vs. Listening is interesting. I listen to tons and love it and have had debate w many ppl. Done some googling and most say it is the same, but maybe does different things, pretty sure said when Listening you tend to imagine visuals of the story more than if you were reading and reading helps learn spelling more of course. Like doing an elliptical forwards vs. backwards, same thing overall, just different muscles.
Where can I make a donation for DAAA
I find 1 week trip then a 2 week trip the next year...when they are little short trips...50...100...200 miles from home...kids grow so fast...❤
That’s cool you got to go there I bet it’s so big you could get lost. If you didn’t know which way to turn.
Thank you for telling us about the books!!
Try Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. The campus is beautiful - overlooking the ocean.
Ft. McHenry is awesome, and Baltimore and the inner harbor. Your kids would enjoy going on the USS Constellation in Baltimore Harbor.
Have you read the Outlander series? LOVE THEM!!
