Doom works perfectly, Fallout 4, Skyrim, all the wolfenstein games etc. Witcher 3 runs like max 60 fps even at towns when you set everything to high. This thing is amazing !
I never understood the excitement of 60fps on Deck. 60 does me no good if it means 90 min battery life (or 77 min in one case). It's not a desktop PC, and isn't meant for flaunting high framerates and max resolutions. I keep everything capped at 30 with the frame limiter, no exceptions (barring Rayman Origins because it ran half speed at 30), and res at 1152 x 720p to save a bit on power draw there. Low settings. Medium textures if it needs it.
@@ActionJaxonH idk, I been playing quite a few at 60 high and get at least 2 hours but I completely understand wanting to maximize battery. I got a nice battery pack off Amazon if I can't put the deck down
@@ActionJaxonH It's a per case basis for me. Games like Hitman or XCOM I'll play at 30 no problem. But for something like Doom or Wolfenstein, 60 all the way.
Fallout 4 works perfectly? You may of just made my day
@@ActionJaxonH I mean to each their own.. you like 30fps and high battery but since it's an option, there's nothing wrong with someone else liking 60fps and less battery life. It's a give and take either way.
Alien Isolation, Dead Space 1 & 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dishonored, Phoenix Point, Gears Tactics, Hitman, The Ascent, Remnant From the Ashes, Bioshock, Alan Wake, Valheim, and all the recent Dooms and Wolfensteins because those iD Tech games look and play ridiculously well on the Deck, it's insane.
You have all those installed at once???
@@H0und0fHircin3 Only one each of the recent Dooms and Wolfs, but yeah. I have a 512 with a 512 expansion. 45 games installed and only about 22gigs free, lol.

And how are the controls for the FPS?
I love half of the games you mentioned above but I haven't tried any of the AAAs on my SteamDeck - I am using it for the famous indie game devs for now and playing AAAs on my PC.
@@ksaweryglab FPS controls work fine. I don't do any competitive FPS like COD or anything on the Deck but for singleplayer FPS, I have no complaints.
Hollow Knight, Celeste, Cuphead and Prey - these things are amazing on Steam Deck!
I’ve been playing through Jedi: Fallen Order for the first time on Steam Deck, simply amazing game and it runs really well on steam deck, especially when capped @ 40hz mode

Currently playing resident evil village. Biggest reason I bought it was to play on my deck. Got my deck a few days ago and I play it during work lol. Runs really well with some minor jitterness every now and then
Borderlands 2 runs PERFECT

Outer wilds is an incredible experience on the steam deck

Installed Crysis 2 last night. I couldn't believe the deck locked 60 fps on ultra quality.
I toggled the controls and found gyros enabled when you aim down sights allowed for some crazy precision, I also put my cloak, jump, and reload on the back buttons. You almost never have to take your thumbs off the sticks and fingers off the triggers. Just incredible
😯 it does run Crysis.
How amazing! My younger self would be shocked that a hand held can run Crysis on ultra.

Just got the steam deck as a Christmas present to myself. Yesterday I had a blast with Cyberpunk. I’m impressed how well it runs. Also, Exo One is a recommendation from me. It fits well the deck and the soundtrack is awesome.
GTA 5 and Reddead redemption 2 are a must! And snowrunner of course
Valhiem and Rogue Legacy 2 are the ones I want to try now

I got ESO to work with a few tweaks. Even got all of my add-ons working with it.
Binding of Isaac is amazing on the deck. Having mods on the go is fantastic.

I would add Risk of Rain 2 to the list. It is Steam Deck verified, and with my current level of skill, each play session is fairly short…
Darksiders, all work exceptional ( besides the first, but it works decent too with GE proton). The 2nd one thou was a highlight for me, very solid experience

Grabbed this thing mostly for isometric rpgs. Grim Dawn, wasteland 3, pillars of eternity, disco Elysium. Grim Dawn is fantastic on the steam deck.

For all your PS4 & PS5 games you already own, consider streaming the console to your Deck vs repurchasing on Steam unless you need it portable. Also compatible with launchers; Epic games, GOG, etc. Hoping for two new features;
•Allow XB console streaming (currently xcloud & game pass exist.)
•Android Playstore Access or emulation (This would be a semi-NVidia Shield replacement territory)

@@matthewjohnson1891 Yes. There's also nowna work around to get XB console remote play (local network) working now as well.
How do you stream PS4 games to the Deck?
@@adrianhazzard6665 look for flatpak in desktop mode called 'Chiaki' you'll also need your PSN profile's base 64 value. Works with PS4 & PS5 and thinks your Deck is a Vita.

I'm doing Far Cry 3 for the 1st time. The Ubisoft launcher is quite a pain, as we have to connect everytime we start the game. But ir runs great, and I'm glad I discover this game.
The Slog that is the combat has pretty effectively kept me from making much progress in Ori and the Blind Forest, it's not hard, it's just a button mash with simple dodging, which takes too long because the enemies are ungodly tanky for no apparent reason, either that or Ori attacks with all the power of a spitball.
Will of Wisps has far better combat, give it a shot.
Just received my deck today and downloaded dying light 2 and RE2 remake...this piece of technology is astounding in every way...
How does dying light 2 run on it?
Steam Deck players also get Breath of the Wild. Runs better on the deck than the switch if you use Cemu.

I actually installed Fallout 4 last night. Was impressed with how well it ran. I get its an older game, but still felt awesome to playing buttery smooth on a hand held!

I was playing sea of thieves on my Samsung z fold 3 for a year straight. I use a gamesir controller. It worked great. Now I have a steam deck. And its amazing 👏

Blasphemous, LA Noire, Sleeping Dogs, Dishonored, Witcher 3, Mad Max, Death’s door. These are just a few games that are great on the Deck

I ended up playing House Flipper on my Steam Deck. I had double dipped and got the Switch version previously, but it's nice to be able to paint houses in portable mode and with a decent framerate.

I'll bet "Poly Bridge" is a good game to play on it. "Project Zomboid" would prob be awesome too.

The lack of seeing MGSV: GZ and TPP as well as the Arkham Series is surprising.
MGSV Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain work perfectly at 60 FPS on highest settings, and Arkham Knight runs essentially perfectly on highest settings at 60 FPS, only dipping down when driving the batmobile and flying around the city, but it's mostly unnoticeable. All this on the 64 GB model with a 512 GB Samsung EVO Micro SD Card.
If you want to buy those games, I'd suggest wishlisting them, and waiting until a big sale and then you can get MGSV definitive experience, (GZ and TPP) for like $12 with all DLC, and Arkham Asylum, City, and Knight, and all their DLC for only $9, (You'd have to get Arkham Origins seperately, cause it isn't included in the rocksteady bundle.)
How is Arkham Asylum and Arkham City? I've only played them on console. I heard they have some weird launcher for the PC game.
Also, is it the remastered version or OG?
@@TBrizzle01 I don't think I ever got to play as Joker in Asylum, so I think that might be OG, City is GOTY edition.
They both run fine, at 60 fps. There are occasional dips in the open free roam, but that's the same for all of them. They run fine, and so does Arkham Origins, you just need to use specific versions of Proton-GE.
But they all work. I picked arkham asylum, city, and Knight for $9 on sale, and got all dlc.
please tell me, there is no voice acting of the characters in skyrim, the rest of the sounds are present. what could be the problem?

Need for Speed Hot Putsuit runs at 60fps in 2560x1600 on Deck. Short arcady races of just a few minutes. Criterion online requests nag at every start, but you should try it if you own it.
Well, these games play better on Steam Deck because it has Blast Processing.
I am surprised GTA 5 is not mentioned. It runs great on steam deck and super fun to play. GTA series stays in the heart forever no matter how much time passes.
@Grand Theft Crash Oh yeah I just recently got mine and first thing I did was install GTA 5 and Witcher 3, both of these games are old but very good. Also tried to play Elden Ring and God of War (2018).
You need Internet to launch GTA offline couse of the Rockstar Launcher
I would say Cod Bo3 and outlast 1&2, as well assassins creed franchise, and saints row franchise, let’s not forget about multiversus, and outriders, DayZ Stand-alone, Alien isolation, Marvel vs capcom, Lego Star Wars, unturned, elden ring, Skyrim, bio shock, 7 days to die, and last but not least the forest.
Im glad I got a steamdeck. My girlfriend goes to sleep very early in the evening so instead of being outside in the living room on my PC away from her every night, I can now be in bed with her while gaming

@@thejomah it does have controller support, I have only tried it once, but didn’t have any complaints as the ingame menus were already a little janky even on keyboard and mouse.

I've got hopes that Valve will make dedicated software for the deck. Highly doubtful, but I can hope.

Batman Arkham knight works great on it, the only problem is that it crashes sometimes.
I own it on my pc but when I try to download it on my steam deck it won't let me as it says they're working on its compatibility...

Switch version of Witcher 3 is a blurry muddy mess whereas here it looks lovely. It's the same with Doom Eternal. So glad I got a Steam Deck which was only last week after I waited 7 weeks for it to get to me here in Ireland.

It’s 4am got the steam deck last night fell asleep waiting for games to install wall here i am eating chocolate drinking a beer in bed whilst she’s asleep lol
This game list is not doing the Steam Deck any justice 🤦♂️ most of these listings are not the most popular franchises/titles and can run on a potato or at least looks like it can. So far, I've got RE2 Remake, Soul Calibur 6, DOA 6, GTA 4 (which isn't even verified), Max Payne 3, Phasmophobia, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, etc running flawlessly without having to download any unofficial software or sacrificing the image quality or frame rate to a degree where it's noticeable on its screen. No hate towards indie games because there are some lesser known ones that I like but they're not console/hardware sellers, especially when they visually look like a mobile game. They should be a foot note or addendum, not the main topic of discussion.

There was a reservation on Steam back in June of 2021. You can still reserve one now, but probably wont get it until October 2022.
