@RichMizenko - how ignorant can you be. Who compiled the Bible ? What was the ONLY Christian church for over 1500 years? You subscribe to Sola Fide and Sola scriptura. Those are theological/biblical interpretations neither right nor wrong. But you claim YOUR way is right? Catholics are just another Christian denomination, they accept Jesus as savior. I’m sure you “ Christian ‘’ church is also a denomination. Based on you closed mindedness, I’m assuming Southern Baptist. No where do Jesus stare that if it is not in the Bible that it doesn’t exist. He just gave us the Bible as a guide. Quit being so ignorant and close minded. Think about it, The Bible (New Testament )you quote from, who compiled ? I’m not even Catholic, just educated. Actually attended a Mennonite College. Quit spouting evangelical born again American version of Christianity as the absolute. Only God is the absolute. Last I checked you are not Him.

The Holy Spirit moving among men? Notice the New Testament was written by the Jews , the inspired scripture came out of Israel and no where does it mention the gentile church can overrule Jewish scriptures , Jesus apostles who were all Jews including Paul and Barbarous the apostles to the gentiles.
Also we know there were other churches who were NOT part of the Roman church like the Ethiopian church who suffered through persecution by the Muslims. The Ethiopian church opened Luther eyes to realize God had other believers that had nothing to do with the Roman church.
I do agree Protestant have made many of the same mistakes as the Catholics in thinking they are the only ones.

@RichMizenko The catholic church doesn't teach that you need good works to get to heaven but most Catholics will argue that you do because they don't know better. They will argue that you need to be baptized as a baby by getting water sprinkled on you and this is because they're so misinformed and don't really learn the bible, they just know what takes place in the Catholic church. I'd rather not follow a religion structured by today's people and priests that claim they have some kind of special authority to forgive sin when they don't. Their structure and unbiblical rituals makes it a religion that keeps people from following Jesus. Catholics are proud of their religion and many don't even know the gospel.

I know of way too many Catholics that have their prayers answered by God for that generalization to be some sort of truism like the law of gravity.
I personally don't agree with some things that the Catholic Curch holds to. But I'd never in a million years put myself in the role of God as their judge.
They believe the fundemental core of Christianity - that Yeshua is God manifesting in human form, living a righteous life and suffering mightily, unjustly and horrifically tortured and exectuted, rose from the dead in three days, appeared in bodily form to his followers, and in a special manner to Saul of Tarsus, that his death was sacrificial on behalf of the human race, and that by believing in Him, in His resurrection, that we are reunited to Him as his holy children.
Deity, death, resurrection are the foundational stones of the good news - it's in the creedal proclamations prior to any written Christen text - the first Christians proclaimed those creeds and these were orally transmiited until finally embedded in Paul's epistles, the gospels, and Acts. (Modern scholarship has gleaned out these pre-literary creeds.)
Catholics hold to those foundational elements, as does any Christian that is sincere in their adherence to the Lord.
Do those foundational elements get entangled with other things? Probably. A proliferation of denominations suggest it happens a lot. God is a God of grace. We see that proclaimed in the Hebrew Bible and in the New Testament.
For we to come along and proscribe God's grace with some manner of exactitide and absolutism is being pretensious. We are the created creature with a soul, but we are not God.

Where he arrived at the gates of hell and asked the gate keeper if there were people of various denominations there, for example, baptist, methodist, presbyterian, etc.. and the gate keeper answered positively, that there were indeed people of different church roots there, including from nis own church.
Then he went to the gates of heaven and asked the gatekeeper there whether people from his denomination were there, and the gatekeeper responded negatively, he was surprised and started asking about all the denominations he could think of, but the gatekeeper kept shaking his head ‘no’

the first century Christian text, the Didichae, shows us that Christians from the very beginning designated both the fetus in the womb and the new born child as innately precious. In the section on ethics and morality it list the act of abortion and the act of infanticide as among the ways leading to death (i.e., eternal spiritual death) - that these are things that are immoral for Christians.
They made a point of listing out things that were being practised in their surrounding Hellenistic society, but that were immoral and against Christ.
It's perfectly obvious that nothing has changed in the least as there are still those that murder the fetus in the womb and some of them advocate for infanticide. While there are still Christians that proclaim the sanctity of new human life both in the womb and newly born.

I'm currently writing a book called "Just One Test," where there's a split in the scientistic community over conducting just one test to find God.
The split occurs when those who call themselves scientists don't want to conduct the test because they've already made up their mind on reality.
Yet, those who do the test, such as this woman in the video, find God.

Anyway, the book she mentions reminds me somewhat of "Person of Interest" by J. Warner Wallace. Written by someone who was an atheist and a cold case homicide detective, who investigated the gospels and the Bible using the method he used in those homicide cases. It's a unique examination of the evidences of Jesus and the resurrection.

I think because those in "science community" tend to get tunnel-visioned on "scientific, empirical evidence" where they have to do experiments to prove a hypothesis because if not then their conclusion is not valid. At least according to academic rules.
You cant do that with history, and non-material things like the mind, spiritual, which are actually lots of things. Some of them got caught up in arrogance that "science" can explain everything when its not, and its a matter of time until it can "scientifically prove" something. Try asking them if they believe any past figures like Newton, Einstein, or heck one of their favorite misquoted Darwin. They will have faith (believe in) that those people exist and yet they cannot "scientifically prove" it with experiment.
One of my favorite short quote to illustrate why those 2 is compatible, "science explain how, God explain why". I think I butchered it from John Lennox lol

    Following Rene Descartes meditation
    Category 1: Minds
I exist and I am a mind. Therefore Minds exist.
    Category 2: Matter
I have feelings. These feelings originate from sensors in what I call my body. The sensors are receptive to stimulation from events created from within my body and from events created from outside my body. The stuff that bring about these events I shall categorise as matter. Thus my body is also made of matter. Therefore Matter exists.
    Category 3: Space
My body needs space and matter in general needs space. Matter can exist only in space. Therefore space must exist.
    Category 4: Time
My body needs time to change and matter in general needs time for change. Matter can change only in time. Therefore time must exist.
From the above observation I conclude that these 4 categories permeate each other and exist equally with none more abstract or less abstract than another.
Now to the question of the origin of these categories
Could it be that any one or more of these categories can be made from any one or more of the remaining categories? Could these categories transform from one to another?
Matter needs space and time for its existence, therefore without space and time matter will not exist as such matter could not have been the origin of space and time.
From physics it has been observed that space and time can give rise to matter spontaneously. As such matter maybe a result of a localised change to space and time.
So then could space and time be the origin of everything else?
Again from the theory of the Big Bang all space, time and matter originated from this singular event. Therefore space and time could not alone have brought about the other categories.
Since the big bang was an event, could it be that all things are made from events?
Where there is space, time and matter there is always an event.
There can be no space , time or matter without events.
In an instant all of space and the matter is nothing more or nothing less than a set of events. So then space, time and matter is one and the same as a set of simultaneous events from one instant to the next.
From this observation the 4 categories can be reduced to 2 categories
    Category 1 : Minds
    Category 2 : Events
Now then can minds exist without events. We know that simultaneous events give rise to feeling in minds. We know from special relativity simultaneous events cannot give rise to anything physical or material. Therefore feelings cannot be physical or material. Now as feelings are a part of minds we must conclude minds are not physical.
Now can the mind exist without feelings OR does feelings create the mind, that is one and the same as the mind?
If feeling create the mind then as feelings are created by events then space, time and matter which we have concluded is the same as events, must also have feeling and thus be one and the same as a mind.
Thus we would need to conclude a rock has a mind or is part of a mind to the same extent that my brain is a mind or is part of a mind.
This conclusion is not palatable as such let’s consider the OTHER alternative
Now if a mind can exist without feeling then we also know that the mind can create events. (e.g throw a rock, move a finger)
So then given that the mind can create events then the big bang (The Event) could have originated from The Mind in order to evoke feelings in other minds.
These other minds may have also been created by The Mind.

Matter and energy cannot be created nor destroyed, therefore no matter nor energy would’ve existed to do the causing. Consequently, whatever did cause the universe to exist, would need to be immaterial and exist beyond time and space! Genesis 1: 1 God creates time space and matter!
The KILLER is, Entropy! Entropy is somewhat opposite of evolution and why did this come into the universe if everything’s getting better? Genesis 2:17 says death came into the universe through the first sin!
First two chapters of the Bible not the 500th chapter or the thousandth chapter; explain what evolutionists have not explained; and no other worldview EXPLAINS ENTROPY -The 2nd LAW AT ALL, let alone the first law of thermodynamics!
So the Bible explains how matter, space, time, entropy, and energy get here; Right out the gate!

One person‘s DNA could stretch to the sun and back 61 times! Psalm 139:16 “in my members you have written many books“.
John 21:25 “I suppose everything Jesus did the world will not have enough room for the Books, telling of it“!
God made matter and energy, a.k.a., the first law of thermodynamics and DNA, pointing to himself; pointing to an outside source beyond the realm of the universe; that these things were made there!
Job 38:35 “were you there when I created the lightnings and they say ‘here we are!”’ This is God talking to Job!

This marvelous passage of Scripture you have cited first teaches me that I must be humble so that I can seek His face in prayer. From the next phrase in the passage, I find I must turn from my wicked ways. It is then that He will hear my prayer from Heaven and forgive my sin. This means to me that I will have to confess my wicked sins when I humble myself and pray. After this He will hear from Heaven, forgive my sins and heal the land. So, with this basis, my prayer will contain the confession of the greatest sin of our land. At the same time, I will confess the greatest sin of the church in our land. This is one in the same sin. In turn, not perceiving this is why there has been no healing of the land, despite the offering of untold billions of prayers, going back to World War II, that have requested such a healing. Heavenly Father, I admit that our greatest unconfessed sin is that we have replaced holiness with human rights as our guiding moral principle in everyday life and government. I now request that Your living church will confess and turn away from this great sin. I then request that the church lead the entire land to confess this great sin so that our land may be healed. In the name of My Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, Amen.
I am convinced that unless the church repents, the land will not repent. It is the stubborn pride of unrepentance that is preventing the church from seeing and confessing our sin and bringing the healing of the land. It is the stubborn pride of the church that prevents the church from seeing that the human right doctrine is the means by which Christian civilization has been dismantled. The fruit of our eighty years of unrepentant prayers is that we have given rebirth to the most despised anti-civilization of history -- that of Sodom and Gomorrah -- while the church now prays on without any repentance from, or confession of the great sin of the land.

Not that break throughs aren't still happening, but they have become almost entirely politically based scientific research grants rather than doing science for the improvement to the human condition. I am deeply worried about the future of our country if those who lead us cannot repent.

Wise testimony. History is chock-full of instances where people have decided they know best and set up codes to live by based on their notions of morality. History is also chock-full of stories of the innocent people who have suffered and died under such systems. In the end, we all decide to go our own way and follow our own moral compass or we decide to try and live by the rules set-forth by God. As C.S. Lewis put it: “There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'Thy will be done.' All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell."

In asking for proof of the existence of God, in the very questions lies the answer.
Ask your self what is it about a proof that makes it so great?
A proof is great becouse it does not depend on the time, place or person that gives it. A proof exist even if it has never been spoken.
Therefore where do they exist and were they created?
If you believe proofs were not created then you believe the proofs are eternal. So then the proofs are your God.
If you believe the proofs have a creator then that creator is God.
PS:It takes a mind/intelligence to understand a proof so can a proofs exist with no Mind or is a Mind essential for the existence of proof?

It's not enough to say that one should seek truth and question everything, It's that there's a lens by which we naturally reason from and question things from that isn't necessarily true, So by having that place as the starting point to begin with and question everything from that point may create a type of prison in which a person believes his stance is rational but May actually be opposing the truth precisely because it's questioning it rather than merely asking questions about it. There's a difference between asking questions and questioning things. Questioning something implies some type of opposition or resistance to the alternative, a defensive way of questioning. Asking questions is different in that it's wanting to know more and explore other ideas, and this is necessary at times because some things can only be understood through making decisions rather than waiting to be completely informed before acting on it. In this way, a person can get in his own way by questioning things. This is one of the issues with agnosticism or atheism that I can tell.

It was named Palestine after the Philistines who were the longtime enemy of Jews and hailed from what is now called Gaza. So, no there was no Palestine in the first century, the name came from the Romans as a way to persecute Jews, and there has never been a country by that name or king or currency etc.

I do believe Catholics are Christian. Do they hold differences from Protestants? Absolutely. Do Protestants have differences from Orthodox? Absolutely.
      What makes one Christian?
Acknowledging that Jesus is the risen Son of God(And God incarnate) - That God is triune(Father, Son, Holy Spirit) - That they recognize that only Jesus blood can wash away their sins. That they must turn to Jesus as Their Lord! & Repent (Turn away from sin) That they accept the indwelling of The Holy Spirit which leads them on a life of sanctification where they will not be perfect until being caught up, but will but will be remarkably different than they were when they chased pursuits of the flesh. That they believe the 66-72 books of The Bible(depending on the canon you use) represent the inspired word of God.
I’m here to unite and not divide. Are there people who call themselves Catholic. Protestant, orthodox who are not really saved? Absolutely. But I’ll let The Lord judge! As for me, I’ll focus on my relationship with him rather than picking apart someone else’s.

"Thoughts" and The concept of God
Usage of the word "Thought" in this post is taken to mean anything that is part of a humans conscious experience. Under this definition a sound heard is a thought as much
the thoughts going to solve a mathematical puzzle.
Based on the above definition it can be said that all of humanities knowledge consist of "thoughts". For anything to be known by a human it must become a "thought".
In the context of such a definition of "thoughts"
The set of all "thoughts" would fit the concept of God. If you accept Mathematical Platonism then God would exist
The concept of God entails a single entity that has the following properties
Wisdom: The set of all thoughts will contain the perfect answer to every possible question
Infinitude: The set of all thoughts will have an infinite amount of thoughts
Sovereignty: There can be no thought that is not an element of the set of thoughts
Omniscience:The set of all thought is all knowing as it contains all thoughts.

I was appreciating the talk all the way up untill the final point, and I don't by any means blame the speaker. The excerpt from Lee Strobel's "A Case for Christ" (which I have not read), in which a protestant thought leader is promoting this idea that the 1st century Jews who came to follow the resurrected Christ abandoned their Jewish herritage in favor of a new religion. This is patently false and you will find no evidence of this in the New Testament. Even Paul still refers to himself as a Jew and Pharisee. The truth of what Jesus did is far beyond the scope of religion, it leads us to an understanding of a greater reality, i.e., the spiritual world being much greater and real than our own physical reality.
In order to see how the 1st century believers lived (because unlike more modern traditions, lifestyle is unequivocally linked to observant Jewish practice) it's better to look not on what they might say of themselves, but how those of opposing opinion would say about them. The consensus was that that those who followed Jesus were a part of a rogue sect of Judaism and they were referred to as the "People of the Way." Their children were still circumcized on the 8th day, they continued to keep the Sabbath and observe the rest of the festivals in the Jewish calendar, as well as the same dietary laws. They continued to be fully Jewish in expression, through and through. We can see this by how the apostles discussed the inclusion of the non-jewish "converts" who did not convert to Judaism but believed in the message of the gospel and were receiving the holy Spirit as were also the Jewish believers. They were very aware as not to shock the gentiles, culturally by putting up on them a bunch of restrictions that the Jewish people enjoy, so they chose carefully only a few which were all interlinked, much in the way their own Laws were presented.
There was an eventual breaking away from the Jewish leadership by the gentiles believers -- it became unpopular with them to be treated in a similarly persecuted fashion as their Jewish counterparts. They struck a deal with the Roman authority that if they were to break off communication with the Jewish leadership, but retain their belief in Jesus, they could be once again treated as non-jewish and go about their lives in Roman society enjoying all the benefits (mainly, they wouldn't be taxed to the same extent as the Jews). This is how the great split seemingly occurred.
So we can see that the Jews did not cease being Jews in the least bit. After all, Jesus was the Jewish Messiah long promised in the old covenant. He came as a Jew, lived as a Jew, and died as many Jews did in the first century.

As a Christian myself, I personally know Christians who were raised many different ways. One of my husband's closest friends was not just raised as an atheist, but raised to believe anyone who believed in God/was a Christian was to be laughed at/mocked. He used to make fun of Christians, and now he loves the Lord and God is completely changing his life. My former pastor was raised Muslim and was disowned by his family for becoming a Christian. He gave up everything to follow Jesus. I know people who were raised in the new age who have converted. Raised with no religion of any sort. And some who were raised in the church. Christians come from all walks of life. A few of the women in my Bible study were drug addicts and alcoholics before becoming Christian and the Lord has completely changed their lives.
Being taken to church as a kid is not indoctrination lol. If you as the parents are believers, going to church is a big part of that. Serving and honoring the Lord is a huge part of your life. What are you supposed to do? Leave your kids home alone while you're at church every week?
Parents all have a right to raise their children how they want and in whatever religious tradition (or lack thereof) that they belong to. If you truly believe with your whole heart that something is the truth, wouldn't you teach that to your kids? And I know many people who were raised Christian, but have chosen not to follow Jesus. At the end of the day, we all have a choice. No one is forcing anyone.... in fact the Bible is very clear that you can't force anyone to believe. Our job as Christians is to share the Gospel. That's it. After that each individual makes their own choice.

*This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.*

I am curious as to why you say that Pope Benedict XVI was a proof of God.
