What's your favorite de-esser?
As you pointed out in another excellent video, Melodyne is the game changer for me for de-easing, de-breathing, and even some compressing. For control freaks like me, nothing compares!
Logic pro x stock De-Esser cause its free haha
Sam Smyers
I unsubscribed from another channel due to the content creators slide into blatant biased sponsor pushes and I'm glad I found your channel. Please keep up the good work.
I watch your videos for about over a year and have only now noticed how less subscribers you actually have... incomprehensible, one of the best channels for explaining plugins and mixing techniques, keep going!
Wow, thank you!
Less subscribers? How many did he have over a year ago? He’s at 16k now! Btw, I’m new also.
Great video Sam, Thanks a lot for this. not a correction but just add On's to those watching in the future: Allround and wideband are more for mastering and controlling whole mixes. I would focus more on the threshold and range knob as a newbie and only on a single vocal. I would also just place the threshold knob at infinity to be safe (as it allows the range knob to try and keep the gain reduction at the same level right through the mix of the single vocal) It is actually more focused and effective if you use the single vocal mode with split band as it only targets the selected frequency of the vocal and not the whole audio. than you can use the Allround and split mode together to target the whole mix (Esp the high frequencies like you said), a high shelf to bring back those frequencies in a control and clear way. Sounds amazing. Once you understand what the threshold and range knob do together, you will get the rest of the plugin which makes it fun and easy to use. The range knob can really help you control how much you want the de-esser should work on a targeted range and help you reduce those sibilances as flat or smooth as you want, do this while you have the audition buttons on. You will hear clearly how much reduction is being applied to the high frequencies. Do not forget keep the threshold on at infinity if you are unsure.
Great video! Clear and cut! Just subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
Awesome video!!! I was struggling today with using this de-esser but your video definitely helped me understand the details of each knob! Thank you! :)

At the threshold set to negative infinity and range maxed out, this plugin seems to have the power to turn any singer into Mike Tyson.
😂😂
Spat out my milk reading this lmfao
Thorough explanation 🙏🏼 thank you for service 👌🏼

Great Video - do you think you can use a DSer to remove bow noise or bow scratches from a violin recording?

so should i always keep my threshold at infinity?
if you have the de-esser on a single vocal then you can try putting it on infinity
@@samsmyers thanks
Great and informative video!!
nice tutorial bro
Thanks!
Awesome thnx
fantastic! So useful!
Wow bro nice one
What's the song?
Hello I have tried this plugin but in full masters from vinyl for example. It creates a noise inside the songs when I try to de-ess and it makes the songs more harsh.
Also fabfilter proq3 when I match it creates resonances and makes the bass very hard and distorted
the best
This is great. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
which headphones are u using?

You should have used this plug-in on your UA-cam channel!

Your mixacademy looks like a virus with all the weird buttons and headlines everywhere screaming at you. You are a great mixer but should consider to have a more professional aproach to your website and webinars. I was thinking about enrolling in you class but then i watched the "live" webinar which happened to start excactly when i clicked the link. It all looks fishy, just saying...
You will scare people away
Where does it say the webinar is live?
Thanks man. I appreciate 👍🏾
