No - interest gets applied everyday it is held in there. 7 day yield mean the average of what Fidelity’s money market fund was giving in interest % the last 7 days.
It's a 2 stage calculation. It's the average yield over the last 7 days extrapolated out for the next year. (Not a guarantee of return for the year, but it annualizes the yield %)
What are you talking about, SPAXX and all other funds tied to the FEDERAL INTEREST RATE fell because THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT cut rates. Fidelity didn’t cut anything Also fidelity money market funds gain daily , they simply post what you’ve earned at the end of the month - the rate the MMF was on the day you owned is what you earned Dumb headline , bad info, stop putting crap online for clicks
Let's breakdown why you are wrong and how simply just watching the video could have prevented you from writing this. As explained in the video, the Federal Reserve controls federal interest rates, however this video is specifically talking about Fidelity products lowing their interest rates. This is directly related to the Federal Reserve (all this was explained in the video). Thus, Fidelity did cut their interest rates. I explain in the video what the daily rate is and how Fidelity PAYS OUT on the last day. Thus, you get paid out on the last day as a cumulation of all those interest rates. Next time try watching the video before going on a tirade online.

Did Fidelity maintain the amount their fund pays out? No? Sounds like they cut their rates. Doesn't matter if it was the direct result of the underlying assets cutting the yield.
Where do you keep your uninvested cash?

So is it better to keep the cash in SGOV or Fidelity SPAXX.
I personally just keep mine in SPAXX, the difference in yield between the 2 seems nominal. There might be some different tax treatment though.
I like SGOV better, but SPAXX for Fidelity settlement funds is easy enough and similar enough I wouldn't spend much time on that.
Hi. Does 7 day yield mean you have to keep the money in for 7 day minimum?

It still costs $4.30 for every $1000. I invest before it goes over $999.
haha no they will still charge you
You mean the FED cut interest rates…..
No, as I addressed in another comment, Fidelity also cut interest rates.
The Khmer outro is a nice addition. Influenced by Strongman, I am sure 😂
lol yes I love Strongman - I was actually the one who noticed it live and posted it on his Discord. We are both accountants

@@xaldath4265 OR, and just hear me out, THE FUND TRACKS THE RATE. Dear god you guys, no one actively went in and cut anything.
