Out of all the videos I watched on this yours was the best. The PVC tip and petroleum jelly brilliant. Thank you!

Thanks for this useful tutorial, I will no longer have to disassemble the steering box of my XJ again when it is time to change the seals. Greetings from Venezuela.

Glad it helped!
I know some of the video was somewhat oversimplified, however..this to me is the best one I've seen so far thank you
I wonder if heat or gentle persuasion with a hammer is okay to use on the arm?
Glad it was helpful!
I would definitely use the puller to get even force. Heat or hammer to jar things loose. Mine did not come off easy. It took a lot of force to break it loose.
Great info thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Very well explained thanks a lot.
Glad it helped!
Thanks I just tried it and it really works thanks
Glad it helped!
My 68 Dart steering box needs new pitman arm seals. Hope it works this easy.
Yeah, the same pump was used on many vehicles. I hope it goes smooth!
Thanks bud 🤘🏻
I hope it helps!
@@HowtoandReviewsOfficial thanks my only problem is not being able to find a seal kit for a 08 wrangler jk , might be replacing the entire box
One more question, spring side of seal facing up or towards the arm?
Again thanks for the well done video
No problem. Spring side facing up into the pump. Flat plastic face side down toward the pitman arm.
Damn im struggling to get the last seal i used to screws n broke so theres stuck on the seal im pulling with pliers but nothing im insert 2 more screws n use a hammer n piece of wood 🙏 thanks man im doing this on my 1979 camaro z28
You will eventually get it. There’s a bearing behind that last seal. Make sure you don’t go too far, or you might be running the screw into the bearing, and you definitely won’t be able to pull it out.
@@HowtoandReviewsOfficial you know what i think i went too far in with the screws then ima try n unscrew them with pliers thanks alot !! Ima try it next weekend hopefully it comes out
Nice video. about how long did this job take??
My first thought is one hour if things go smooth. I would plan on one or two hours. Because things always seem to take longer than they should.
Pitman arm stuck
That is the way of working on vehicles. There usually something…
Mine didn’t come off easy. It took some effort.
