Aegon 2 is the King Westeros deserves and needs for the War for the Dawn, he’s got the drip and the best dragon Sunfyre plus he can go cup for cup with Bobby B (like ur channel btw good luck)
While his actions are repulsive, the show could have made him compelling despite those things. The show fails, in my opinion, to display the reasons as to why Aegon is the way he is. Nobody expected him to be a saint, but at face value, the writers think he's complex, but never care to explain what makes him that way.
Props for going into Rhaenyra's faults as well; I really hope in Season 2 they show how she is a poor leader as well. I think that the interesting part of this story is the reality that there were no good choices and that things fell apart due to Viserys' poor rule. I like the idea that she will degrade mentally and emotionally to a bad state. High hopes for season 2, hopefully they don't crash like the House of the Dragon did
I’ll be making a video about Rhaenyra next which I hope to release in a week or so. But yeah, the mental degradation, if done right, will be the proper one that Dany never got in GoT.
TGC improvising the line "do you love me?" tells me that he understands his character better than the writers. I think his acting might get the audience to sympathize with him. Also i think the writers did a big mistake butchering this awesome character who, although a terrible ruler, but one of the bravest Targaryen ever. His bond with his dragon is like no other. Sunfyre was just like his rider. How are they going to recover from that? Why didn't the writers show Sunfyre in season 1? Why did they give us that stupid Rhaenys scene when they had a much better material source from the books? Like you said, they don't give a shit about him. Though i hope they write Aegon much better this season. Or maybe they should just give that job TGC because he knows this character better than the writers do.

Aegon's character was completely assassinated in the show

Modernity. Need I say more?
At least put an effort on making a video....
