@Alex Scott Here are some tips that helped me.
1. Plan towards it
2. Be frugal and minimal on spending (don't buy why you don't need )
3. Save money towards retirement (Roth IRA/401k)
4. Build an emergency fund
5. Save to invest, this is the most important because it's a proven way to get richer. Very important to financial success.

R u going to add a powder room to the 1st floor? Is there ac? Where will the washer and dryer be? In the mud room? R u keeping the radiator heat? Was there any lead or asbestos? Sorry for all the questions but I want to do this soon.
Thanks for the questions! We don’t currently have plans to add a powder room but maybe down the line once we’re ready to move out (we need the mud room space for storage!). Keeping the radiators bc they actually do a great job! Laundry is in the basement and each unit has its own basement and own laundry which is great. And no lead or asbestos that we know of anyway 😅 good luck!!

No. You don't have to start a business. As far as taxes, when you file it'll be on a schedule e form. That's it.
