My first time hearing this. I have to say it's an excellent record. I was a huge fan of joy division but never really listened to new order. I actually hit this by accident when I was picking my phone up off the floor of my car because I hit a bump and knocked it off the little magnet that holds it to my dash. My thumb hit the screen and changed what I was playing to this . I was driving so I didn't try to find what I was previously listening to.( Exit Planet Dust, album, Chemical Brothers) to my present surprise this new order peel session is fucking rad! It was like the universe needed me to hear this
I remember what seemed to be endless nights while stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Army... Circa 2007-2010. That is, not when deployed to Iraq. This EP was much of the soundtrack.
This session and there other session are absolutely amazing ..better than the first album ..this was all I was blasting as a 14yr old kid 30odd yrs back

Ouvir o chiado da agulha no vinil, na música We All Stand, me fez chorar. Hearing the squeak of the needle on the vinyl, in the song We All Stand, made me cry.
Turn The Heater On, they certainly got the tone and mood of it, apparently Ian's favorite song. What a statistic, their only cover song. Aced it, right? Bless vintage New Order!
@@qwj68boots Hahaha,I was just about to give you the link to this song, but thought I'd have another listen to this great song, read through the comments and see you already found it - it's a great classic, and Hookys bass is just all over this
i don’t think the vinyl is particularly rare? I bought it upon release (Sept/Oct 1986) and last time I researched, is worth no more than I paid for it. Has been available in digital form since 1990s. Interesting session. If anyone wants it, they can have my vinyl copy. Hooky agrees in his book that they should have made more of Too Late.
Bernard always liked to play with surnames...wasn't Dicken his maternal grandparents name? Or is it Sumner......the Albrecht was poor German....playing along with people and their perceptions of JD and NO

Early New order beautiful and haunting. ..

Check out Human League’s first lp as well…. Then Fad Gadget.
The EP that got me into electronic music, so long ago. 35 years later still love it and still have the EP.
Here's something I used to own on vinyl and completly forgot about. Thanks for the upload and memories of my youth
Love early New Order...'81-'82...!!!
best new order recordings ever. i cud listen to "turn the heater on" all day
One of Ian Curtis's favorite songs originally done by Keith Hudson. They put it on here as a tribute to Ian.

Thanks for sharing. I still have the original EP on vinyl. This Peel Session of the early New Order is dark and haunted
"Turn the heater on" was Ian´s favorite song written by Keith Hudson. R.I.P Ian Curtis
Yeah they did that Keith Hudson track at the height of their musical prowess.
RIP Keith too. He passed away way too early. Keith would have been serious competition for Bob Marley.😢
@@alanwaites8627yeah no he wouldn't. Bob Peter and bunny and even after gets no better.
Phenomenal version of 5-8-6.
Whenever i listen to this, i listen to its entirety 🙌🏽😏🎶

It wasnt their only cover - they recorded a Jimmy Cliff song called "Vietnam" as well, another reggae tinged beauty.

By far New Order's best album.
Una de las 5 mejores bandas de la.historia. con.cambios de estilos y pionera
Just as I remembered, and a perfect stop at the end so cool....
The best record of New Order👍👍
😅😅
This is the one that I had. Apparently there is a longer version with four additional songs. Who knew?
There is another session from 1981, they only put it together

An insight into what Joy Division might have been, going into 1981-2.
I think it's hard to say as Ian wasn't around. He was the straw that stirred the drink as writer and singer.

It's from 1982
what, no Homage?
Never heard about Too Late, it isn't some original jam is it?
It is an original by New Order but this is the only recording that exists of it. I don’t think they even played it live.
@@otisblankenshipiv7823 It is actually a cover of Ian's favorite reggae song. The original was by Keith Hudson.
