  • I use this modified clinch knot a lot when I am Goliath grouper fishing. It is the perfect knot to make if you don't have any clamps which I don’t so this knot comes in handy. Thanks for watching and if you have any questions I will answer them. Please LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!

    Best tutorial out there. Many of the others are posers, using 100 lb mono or 130 lb braid. You do the real thing with 300-400 lb mono leader.

    I don't know if you know this but spit actually makes it harder for the line to slide on itself. Haven't you noticed that when you're fingers are wet, the mono line is easier to handle when making knots because it becomes less slippery? I actually use flour, it makes the line super slippery.

      Depends. Anywhere between 200lb leader all the way to 25 lb leader. Or if they are biting straight on 40-60 lb mono stick with that. It all depends on how picky the fish are being.

    • @PoweryFishing
      @PoweryFishing  5 років тому

      Trevor Parry giant grouper can easily break heavy mono if they wrap you around any structure or if the fish is just huge but the heavier the mono the better chance you have at landing one!🤙

    • @Randylayhe001
      @Randylayhe001 4 роки тому

      For shark I use 200 lb mono leader-to-hook provided you are using a circle hook. Unlike this video I use crimps covered with shrink tube to reduce electroconductivity.

    Why are using 500 lb mono on such small fish I use hundred lb that's for Giants 500 to a thousand pound tuna. Is that just your leader I assume?

    • @PoweryFishing
      @PoweryFishing  4 роки тому

      justjoeitable I use 500lb leader for when I go goliath grouper fishing because where I fish they hang around sharp pilings that will cut 100lb test in a second! If your out in the open water and don’t have to worry about structure 100lb is plenty!👍
