Then they say it has 850 HP but if you read their description it says 600HP.....and for reference, 100HP per litre is closer on a NA vehicle...SHelby GT350 has a 5.2L with 526HP. Everything is wrong about this.

In the summer of 1971 I drove into the campgrounds near Elkhart Lake Wisconsin when attending a Can Am race. I was driving my 1970 Cougar Eliminator Boss 302. As we entered the park several members of the Corvette Club came over to examine my car. I knew I had a spiffy car but I didn’t know how rare was the beast I was driving. The Members of the Corvette club were so impressed that they invited my wife and myself to their campfire that evening. Can you imagine? Canadians driving a 1970 Ford Mercury Cougar Eliminator Boss 302 invited to an American Corvette Club campfire? Earlier that afternoon, we arrived at the track and I pulled up to a stop sign and looked at the road ahead to my left and right. I realized with the markings that it was Road America track itself. There were no cars, so I turned left and entered the track. You have to imagine, a Grabber Blue Eliminator with a canoe strapped to the roof, with a wife as a co-driver and a hot dogger at the wheel. So I floored it, and took the T- handle shifter through the gears. I had entered at what I now know was gate C, and it had just started to lightly rain, and as I approached turn 5, I braked and geared down to second, and as I hit the apex, goosed it again. The result was instantaneous. I had a hundred pounds of camping gear in the trunk, and centrifugal force took over. As we started to spin off the track to the outside, my co-driver wife screamed in terror. I managed a 270 degree spin into the dirt. I’m fairly certain that I’m the only driver at Road America , to this day,to spin out with a canoe on top. We continued around to the garages, and there were a number of drivers,and cars who were already there, so we pulled in and joined the group. Not one person, mentioned us pulling in from the track sporting a canoe on the top of a 1970 Cougar Eliminator. And strangely enough, nor did the track owner, with whom we talked for several minutes. Yep! There was my Eliminator hob nobbing with assorted Can Am McLarens and other assorted CanAm monsters.
