Can you possibly do a video showing us how to do it.. with the trail stop I get lost. For "example" let's say I buy ko at 54.44 and I want to use a trailing stop order... the amount shows me 0.11 what does that mean? Also let's say I want to use the $5 dollar example, how would I put that in the amount.. im sure the way I'm thinking is right but I just want to make sure..thanks 😊
@@tonyaguilar2151 That price you see of $0.11 should be the trailing offset. I made a video on how to placing trailing stops in ThinkorSwim if you want to check it out ua-cam.com/video/pMmk25QmAC8/v-deo.html
Well, I learned my lesson the hard way yesterday 6-23-22. $1.07 option 3 contacts, set stop loss at -$16, *** within 45 seconds option dropped to $.81 flying past my stop and resulting in -$97 loss... I know to most folks this may sound like small loss, however to new trader and only my 3 attempt at trading options it hit hard... Not sure what I could have done different? Total open to suggestions and/or critiquing. TY Dan
Anyone could teach me what is a LIMIT PRICE and STOP PRICE when I place an order? I know LIMIT is the price must be higher than LIMIT if I am correct, but what is a STOP?
does anybody have etrade vids on EXACTALLY how to execute stops on etrade? 2024? with pics that actually represent what the platform looks like? ANYBODY??
Personally, I would never use a stop or trailing stop on an option. They just tend to have too little liquidity and you can get stopped out from wide bid/ask spreads. If you're being careful and using them only on really liquid stocks you can avoid a lot of this, but I still tend to avoid using stops on options.
@@shortthestrike Have same question on how do you control your loss risk? I experienced issue yesterday where option pullback flew past my stop resulting in substantial loss... TY Dan

Trailing stop is best to execute if you want to get liquidity
Excellent explanation with e.g.!
Thank you so much! Excellent explanation
Great video! What about the advantages of a stop versus a trailing stop---and vice versa. Signed, a new subscriber.
Sublime as allways.
Have a nice day!
Love your videos. I plan on bingeing. I appreciate you.
Thank you!
Don't use stops often myself, but I hope this helps!
Curious why you don't use stops often ?
Nearly all my trades are short options so there’s generally no need. I also wouldn’t recommend using stops on options due to the wide bid/asks

so stop market orders or trailing stops shouldn’t be used with options?

@@shortthestrike Then how do you protect your trades in options? What do you do for risk management?
