If value will be repeat then you have to summarize your data first then apply because all the lookup function give first search result, it wouldn’t go down
I have one doubt. Column index number should be 2 because "Emp code" is in column 2 then how come you typed column index number as 1 and it gave accurate result?
Then result will not come before apply vlookup function make sure one common value must be availble in both sheets or Workbook I hope this will help If any query please let me know

If we have to match multiple workbook
Compile all workbook data at one place and apply vlookup otherwise one by one you can apply vlookup

Jaha se table arry start hota h waha se count Kiya jata h to column. table arry ek hi clum select kiye h to ek hi lege
Agar ek sheet mai kuch logo ke name hain and kisi dusre column same name hain but same sequence mai nahi hain.. To uske liye kya kiya ja sakta
Sorting alphabetical both name column data sir then u will find sequence will maintain
