@@ZPositive Lol - you give the 'vomit' emoji along with the comment 'China', yet you still buy their shoes, electrical products, mobile phones, computers, cosmetics, clothes, health-care products, agricultural fertilisers, children's toys and much more. Kevin...no knock on you at all, outstanding review...but...VG10, FRN, standard back lock, and typical Spyderco tax...it really doesn't make a lot of sense to me over the Recon 1...just my opinion...
If you want a finger choil, don't want thumb studs or a sharpening choil, don't want the tacky looking "recon 1" printed across your blade, prefer Japanese made over Taiwanese made, don't want a pants shredding pocket clip, and want to spend less money, then a stretch xl 2 makes more sense to me than a recon 1. And I prefer Spyderco's Japanese FRN over many G10 knives I've owned. It grips well and the texturing does not feel cheap to me. That being said I've had my eye on both these knives at one time but ended up buying neither.
As a design yes ....as a frn backlock for greedy guts spyderho pricing ..... Not so much . lock back and more so frn is a tough pill to swallow here for all of us living in future . Frn models especially big ones ones I find tend to get slopy with the walk and talk way faster then steel g10 .... I'm looking at a old all g10 terzoula with a inset liner and it's great .... There are limits to what miserlynes I should have to take from a manufacturer he'll even the clear would be better but they know ppl will reef on and crack that large/long of a handle .
Very comfortable and grippy. Slicey 4" blade at 2.7ozs, I think it's a great edc for light to medium tasks. Love mine. Thanks for your thoughts!
One of my favorites and underrated in my opinion. Great review as always Kevin 👍🏻
I have a sprint run of the original Stretch in Japan Superblue steel. Love that knife and the price was only about $78
Not my favorite from Spyderco but I appreciate the look around and thoughts.
Im excited to use mine for skinning!
I think this was made for those who wanted a Spyderco military but couldn't swallow the price or lock type so this was a reasonable alternative
Salt model of this please
If you're buying one for the forward finger choil, you could instead opt for the Byrd Cara Cara 2 at a fraction of the price. Just a thought....
Huh?
@@elde667 the cara cara 2 is a similar design and size by Byrd, Spyderco’s budget line.
China. 🤮

Yeah I would never take this over a recon 1 I would say its more for someone who wants a sort of light weight camp slicer than a hard use folder
