Happy holidays, everyone. Here's something to throw on in the background while you're wrapping those gifts ;) ...bonus points if you make it to the old school vid at the end :D
Good to see you again , awesome of your wife to make you up those grill cheese they are always tasty. Looks like a nice park, I love how you folks in the USA have shelters in a great deal of your parks , wish we did in ontario. Love that stone shelter with dual fireplace's Cant blame you for staying epic views epic shelter. WOW, that was some nasty blowing winter weather you awoke to Burrr, , pretty lake area would be nice in the warmer months , Really enjoyed this Shawn . thank's for bring us.
Seeing the pipes, it reminded me of our old Boy Scout camp in Northern New Jersey (KEP) as all of the water pipes ran across the ground just like what you saw.
This area was my playground growing up in the lower Hudson Valley. It was about a 2 hour bicycle ride by from home to your starting point. Hiked all those trails, swam in those creeks and stealth-bike camped there every chance I could. Lots of Revolutionary War-era iron mines to explore if you are interested in that topic. Explored the old "ghost" town the park bought up and cleared out in the north-east part of the park and watched trains from the hills overlooking the Hudson. It was also a great place to bring a date, and later, my wife Spent even more time there when we moved to our first apartment, only about a15 minute bike ride to the park.
This was a good mashup of winter videos. I'll always remember the crazy high winds winter video with Mike in the Whites. I thought it may be in this list. All of your episodes are great!
You should try making homemade bone broth to take with you on one of your winter trips a nice warm cup of bone broth warm you up before you hit the sack
I KNOW THAT STONE SHELTER!!! I’ve spent many a night there, and used to go every Easter weekend back in my 20’s. Two fire pits with chimneys, and a nice wooden deck to sleep on. What a GREAT shelter, and a decent view from the top there. Man Sean, it’s great to see this shelter again! I should head down to NY for a quick couple of nights at the old stone shelter. I live in Vermont now where there are many shelters to use, but I used to live in Central NJ, so Harriman State Park wasn’t very far to drive to. Be well Sean, and thanks for hiking videos!! - Jason/Freedom Fighter Until Death/Vermont, FRA (‘FRA’, meaning “The Failed Republic Of America”)
About the thumbnail picture, though I am not sure, did you have a same photo taken and at the same angle from a previous vid you have? Seems like I saw the same photo from before. 😅 Very excited for this six hour adventure video.
Love this, I just camped at Harriman/ Stockbridge shelter 2 weeks ago inspired by your trip! Hung up the hammock just as it was getting dark which in Sintax timing is early😂
@ I did, lots to love about Harriman. Glad though I was in the hammock just west of the shelter. Eating dinner in the shelter you could hear all the mice scurrying about
A seven hour video?! This is going to be great! It will get me across Arizona today. Thanks for sharing with us Shawn. I'm sure it will be a great one as always.🙂
@sintax77 It's actually really nice here in the mid 40s as I'm trucking east through Flagstaff. Perfect hiking weather but I don't have time I need to keep on truckin. This is my favorite time of year for outdoor activities back home in Minnesota.😊 Glad to hear you're back home.
Oh I love these videos the good Outdoors. But I noticed a lot of your videos you're always by yourself it seems like now don't you get bored being always by yourself out there or do you actually go out with other friends and your wife more but you just don't video tape it? Whatever I still love the videos
And if you're ever up our direction the coffee is always on and a campfire usually going at our house. The hiking trails are amazing in Minnesota, especially on the North Shore!

Getting back to your roots, miss those epic NH snow trips

Fond memories of hiking Bear Mountain too. Thank you for this.

Ah, yes. Good memory- that's a super old school cut right there!
Hiking in my stomping grounds! Love Harriman and Bear Mountain!
Very nice Christmas gift.Thanks!
Wow, cool almost 7 hours. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. 😀
Who needs a Yule log stream when this exists?
I remember the second shelter with the dual fireplaces. Dang was it that long ago?

Good decision on the overnight at the dual fireplace shelter. Would it have been a decent idea to capture some of the ice from your tarp to melt?
any plans to do a little overlanding in the Jeep ? Guess and hopefully this also means the warranty repairs on the RV have been completed .

Thanks, Jason! That shelter really is quite amazing - probably one of my favorite ones out there. Can't beat those dual chimney's for a winter trip!
This might be the longest video I've seen in a while...

Been adding hot mustard to my grilled cheese since originally watching that one!
Right on! :)
Good grief- a long one. Will be skipping a lot but here I go.

Nice! I bet it's a bit warmer down there in Arizona right now. I'm back on the east coast, but definitely daydreaming about some Arizona sunshine.
