Brilliant to get a wider scope on conditions around. Those queues make it look like you've nipped over to the US rather than Grand Massif for the day

except in the US there would be better snow! and they would be organised lines not mosh pits...

Having stayed in Les Carroz exactly this weekend 2023, I feel we got away with it. Queues in Flaine were big as snow wasn’t great in Morrilon and Les Carroz, but nothing like you have shown. Didn’t go out this year - I feel we haven’t missed loads…

Unbelievable cues, I've been in St Anton this week. Same conditions as shown. Deep slushy snow cut up to high hell. Horrendous conditions with only one sunny day ( yesterday) we had the same problem with massive cues 😢 they have even stopped the Galzig live web cam scanning left to right as the hillside is now mostly mud! Worrying for the future.

Unfortunately the last two seasons have shown that the days of reliable snow in the alps below 2000m are numbered. If people want to go to a snow sure resort over the next decade or so they are you going to have to go to somewhere like tignes or Val thorens...

I have been watching your videos in preparation for a coming trip. I will be in Chamonix March 13th with my buddy to start the Haute Route starting on the 16th. We are getting there a few days early to acclimate and get in some runs before we head out. Any recommendations on what to do for 2 days to get some good skiing in? Thanks for your videos!

Well the vallee blanche is the obvious answer to get some acclimatisation in, assuming the weather is good. Or skining up from the top of the herse chairlift at grands montets to the top

What’s going on in Carroz ? Have been there several times it’s never been that busy. Have been keeping an eye on the conditions via the webcams, it looks pretty terrible. Think we have now decided to skip coming out this year due to the continued poor snow conditions. I guess it’s because the whole of the Grand Massif have decided to head over to Flaine via Les Carroz then drive back to their village in the evening maybe.

yeh, a combination of poor snow low down across the region, predominantly good weather, half term holidays and the post covid bounce still going on meaning that everywhere is just busier than it was in the past.

if you just want to take a lift up, ski some groomers, then take a lift down again at the end of the day then conditions are fine. but thats not what most people come to chamonix to do... its been another poor season by any meaningful metric, unless you consider warm weather to be a positive measure! besides, did you not see my last chamonix snow report? that was pretty much wall to wall positive! you got lucky if you have been here this week but that doesnt mean its what it has been like all year

Don't be a knob John, the guy does great videos, seems to be pretty honest to me.
