Doug Lancio - acoustic guitar, electric guitar
Written by Bob Dylan
I crossed the Rubicon on the 14th day of the most dangerous month of the year
At the worst time at the worst place - that’s all I seem to hear
I got up early so I could greet the Goddess of the Dawn
I painted my wagon - I abandoned all hope and I crossed the Rubicon
The Rubicon is the Red River, going gently as she flows
Redder then your ruby lips and the blood that flows from the rose
Three miles north of purgatory - one step from the great beyond
I prayed to the cross and I kissed the girls and I crossed the Rubicon
What are these dark days I see in this world so badly bent
How can I redeem the time - the time so idly spent
How much longer can it last - how long can this go on
I embraced my love put down my head and I crossed the Rubicon
I feel the bones beneath my skin and they’re tremblin’ with rage
I’ll make your wife a widow - you’ll never see old age
Show me one good man in sight that the sun shines down upon
I pawned my watch and I paid my debts and I crossed the Rubicon
Put my heart upon the hill where some happiness I’ll find
If I survive then let me love - let the hour be mine
Take the high road - take the low, take the one you’re on
I poured the cup and I passed it along and I crossed the Rubicon
You defiled the most lovely flower in all of womanhood
Others can be tolerant - others can be good
I’ll cut you up with a crooked knife and I’ll miss you when you’re gone
I stood between heaven and earth and I crossed the Rubicon
You won’t find any happiness here - no happiness or joy
Go back to the gutter and try your luck - find you some nice young pretty boy
Tell me how many men I need and who I can count upon
I strapped my belt and buttoned my coat and I crossed the Rubicon
I feel the Holy Spirit inside and see the light that freedom gives
I believe it’s within the reach of every man who lives
Keep as far away as possible - it’s darkest ‘fore the dawn
I turned the key and I broke it off and I crossed the Rubicon
Mona Baby, are you still in my mind - I truly believe that you are
Couldn’t be anybody else but you who’s come with me this far
The killing frost is on the ground and the autumn leaves are gone
I lit the torch and I looked to the east and I crossed the Rubicon

Great to hear the old song and dance man singing and playing piano.
All the members of The Band are gone, but it's amazing that Bob Dylan is still alive.
You're an amazing man Bob! We are blessed to be alive at the same time as you!
I was there that night. Unfortunately from where we were seated we couldn’t see him - so I’m happy to see the recordings from that performance. Thank you!
@@TheKatzeye Thank you 🙏
He doesn't allow jumbo tron close ups. Totally Bob. It's a bucket list thing.
@@GregM-ws4hq well that explains it. We were wondering why other performers that night had close up shots of their performances and with Bob (the real reason I was there) the shots were distant and dark. Knowing it’s a “Bob thing” makes total sense now.
@ Yes. I saw him over the summer and there were no closeups. He does not allow it. Silly ... but pure Dylan. I guess he doesn't like the way he looks anymore but he is the ONLY singer. So what can ticket holders do.
Oh, Bob is so cool, with that peculiar hair and crossing rubicon day by day... Thanks, my friend Woolhall for this gifty.💖💖🌻🌻✨✨🎶🎶
Thank you 🤗
@@woolhall 🌻🌻😘😘
Crossing and recrossing and crossing again!
@@Anthony-hu3rj Oh, yes!!!🤩🤩
Once again... Game, set & match for Mr. Dylan and Mr. Woolhall.
Congratulations.
Thank you for watching
Love hearing Bob's Voice morning, noon, and night!!! Love ❤️ this song!!! He is fabulous on the keyboard 😍 ❤️ ♥️ 🎉❤
Professional Genius Top of the Tip 💯🌹
Terrific! Thank you so much!
Quality!❤ So engaging & amazing yo watch modern-Dylan so closely. INCREDIBLE job with the recording, so dark yet you have really brought the details out so clearly! 10/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@davidscott4565 Thank you 🙏
Bob , forever----
Absolutely❤
Extraordinarily Great. Thanks!
@@StephenVallely-o1b The Master is good isn’t he ? Pity we couldn’t get the funds for Tulsa in March 😭
I love this! So strong, a couple of those keyboard fills shook me!
😂
great sound so much better than most of Bob's live shows I'm been to too many sound baad.. but this here is fine. thank you, Woodhall for posting!

I love Bob so much cos he's just so original and authentic This is great Mr Woolhall the picture so clear so thank you once again for making my day ❤❤❤ xxx
It doesn't remind of anything in particular
It's just a good bluesy song

Oh My Dear Brother,
I was playing along with my 12String to "Visions of Johanna" as your latest offering showed up on my feed....
You've made an Old Cowboys Day.
Many Thanks Woolhall.
Greetings From The Great State of Texas.
On The Gulf~
If you enjoy it half as much as me , then I’ve enjoyed it twice as much as you , have a great weekend from Manchester UK
@@woolhall
Something has been bothering me. I'd appreciate your thoughts please.
The Blonde on Blonde album '66. As I listen to Visions of Johanna, I hear a very similar lead guitar, to Van Morrison's Bang Masters Album.
What say you?
I know you're the one to ask..😊
thank you for this! phenomenal quality
💎
Always worth the price of the ticket. Tulsa is going to be special.
Wow thanks again
You are kinda artist, too, Woolhall!
Thank you so much for this close up!!
This is better than being live at this place!!!
Yeah kinda , lucky I have such an artist like Bob to try and capture
Agree 100% . Mr Andrew is an Artist …. He don’t look back

Great to see Jim Keltner playin' with Bob. P.S. Bob's voice sounds good, especially touring as much as he does. Thanks Woolhall!
Thank you for the kind comments 👌
Epic performance.
Love Bob!!❤
This man is the reason I built an ark, he told the world "A Hard Rain's A- Gonna Fall..
Amazing!!!
Super 👍
Thank you 👍
Seit 1965,hören wir voneinander
He's back...though he was never gone...
Go Bob!
Great song, great voice, great style, forever! 💥💥💥
That voice. ❤️When did Bob switch from guitar to piano And why? I know it’s been awhile, but I miss the guitar. I saw him at Bethel Woods last July, or rather I heard him. I was on the lawn and the camera never did a close up. I didnt know one single song he did,LoL because at that time I only knew the popular tunes and being a rock fan, I was bored to tears,LoL. But also thrilled because it was BOB DYLAN! Now that I’ve done a deep dive into his music ,I’m looking foward to seeing him again. Thank God he loves touring!
Bobby must name workin tha road is home for him?! How many days in a year he is on the road/touring??? Unbelievieble! I think he don't do it for the bucks, but he could be the hardest workin man in the business! Amazing!
Bobby 💯💙🌍💯
He used to be so fantastic.
How does Bob remember all his lyrics, it is beyond me.
He's special
He's reading them.
He has them printed in a folder right in front of him on the piano. Plus he performs them every night. It's not rocket science.
Part of what makes him a genius, -huge powers of mind. Turning feelings and observations into structured, articulated wordage, -and remembering them in performance. Gotta love Dylan.
It';s way beyond that. He said he keeps in mind every performance of a particular song so on any given night the same song will not be 100% the same..some nights 99% b ut never 100%. He remembers....
Bob is THE guy. It scares me to imagine who might fill those shoes.
Crossin the Rubicon classic blues riff
Damn! So few have this view of him and he's so unselfconscious, here.
Sorry , bailing out at 2.41, I can't understand a feckin word !
He still got it
At 84 why does he do it?
Ask the Chief Commander.
Because it's Dylan, we accept the vocal. If this song was sung by Herman Baxter-Moorehead it would get 22 hits tops and zero shares.
Yeah people will praise and watch Bob no matter how he sounds . He certainly looks like his age has caught up with him and in my opinion that outfit kind of makes him look like a grandmother.Getting old is a rough trip even for Bob.
@@jaceconverse6337 Totally agree. He won't sing any of his hits. I know age is a factor ... but he never cares what people think. But no one can deny his incredible talent for song writing.
He opened this entire tour with Watchtower... every set had Desolation Row & closed with every grain of sand. Three of his biggest songs. @@GregM-ws4hq
@ He does sprinkle some hits. But he leaves a ton out. I realize he has a lot of great songs ... but he only adds a few. No guitar. No closeups allowed. No backups singers. Imagine if he would open up to input and put together a show that included more of the dozens of songs people love. Don't get me wrong ... I love Bob. Just wish he allowed input.
How does he do it? I'm almost 60, and I'm hard pressed to go out to the grocery store.
Time to folldem up. Bob.
Where was this?

Hahah he’s pissed they didn’t give him the right harp
🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷
I find him hilarious. Should do a comedy movie.
does anyone know when this was? TY. He sounds great!
I got white hair inma head blues.
translation?
He’s fumin’. What’s up?
Ikr? I wondered that too. Audio seemed good to me. Maybe balance issues/frustration?
Bob is lucky his hair never turned gray.
He dyes his hair lol
He looks like an old lady fresh out of the beauty parlor...the black is to harsh for an aged face. Salt and pepper would be better on him@@GreatWhiteWonder
@ Really? Who’d a thunk it?
Oh, no! He paint his beautiful hairs...😍😍
He dyes it. Watch his Whitehouse performance from when Obama was President. His hair was quite grey there.
More like Bob crosses the Styx
I'm curious, what is he drinking here? 🤔🧐
Absolutely dreadful - but its Bob so he gets a pass!
You may as well be mumbling small talk at the wall
I love and admire Bob’s songwriting talent in his earlier work, but I can’t commend this performance - sorry. Even if he personally invited me to join him on stage now, I’d have to politely decline. It felt unintelligible, monotonous, and difficult to sit through. After his show in Boston, I genuinely wished I could get my money back.
Satan is still signing
usual rigmarole...
Damn son!!!
Bobby is on fire
He got gods wind at his back
And god got bobby's wind at his
