There’s a 2012 JACS paper called “Silver-Catalyzed Decarboxylative Chlorination of Aliphatic Carboxylic Acids” where some Chinese organic chemists carried out the Hunsdiecker reaction using a silver catalyst instead of a silver reagent and tBuOCl instead of chlorine. I’d like to know if Jim thinks the science in the paper is accurate.

Why does Jim refuse to say Dave Farina’s name?
