I'm so grateful for you sharing this information taxes scared me, but I now know to find a CPA and tax preparer in the future. Could you cover step by step how to hire employees and payroll? I want to make sure people are getting paid the right way
Absolutely, it was one of those things that held me back at first but anything is possible with the right guidance. I also let Damian know that we have to account for state and federal income tax as well but that 9% is what goes on top of your price to the customer.
Definitely sit down with an accountant or CPA to walk you through that. Also, I’ve done all sub contracts in the past and even hired sole proprietors but I am learning about hiring W2 as we speak so I will absolutely share as I learn. We have to account for payroll taxes like social security tax (FICA), Medicare, Federal & State income taxes, unemployment and you have to have workers compensation. It’s a lot and that’s what I’m getting coaching on now.
Okay gotcha and yes because I hear contradicting things about subbing some people say its illegal to completly sub and others say you can't have a sub doing work for you regularly or they will be considered an employee which has made me afraid. I will definetly be following along thank you! @@CleanWithDarian

Thanks for the watching! Hope this was valuable for you but I’m in Florida and Damian is in Nebraska. Our markets are similar but yours may be a bit different. I’m not very familiar with NY prices but I would probably adjust 20-40% if you’re in the city.

Hello, I’m glad to hear that! You definitely can get started at your age. You may need a little help from your parents or guardian though. I have a video on my UA-cam channel called “How to start a cleaning business Right Now” in that video, I teach the “friends and family” strategy. You can clean for family members and then by the time you are 18, you would be a master at your craft then you could potentially start getting big contracts. I hope that helps! Go for it!!
What software do you recommend for scheduling, sending quotes, invoicing and receiving payments?
Great questions, I recommend quick books online for invoicing, receiving payments and book keeping. It’s an essential tool for sure.
I use Homebase for scheduling and team members. I use my own custom template for sending quotes and generating bids. I sell that information in my coaching program but I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

Do you have to do sales tax in every state?
Yes, sales tax & federal taxes are nation wide but state income taxes are only in certain states. Florida has no state income tax.

Great question, you can make a website with wix.com, godaddy.com, squarespace.com or you can go to Fiver.com and hire someone to build it for you. But atleast get a google page in the meantime.

What a laptop? A affordable one? Or just use my iPhone ?
I run my entire business from my iPhone and Mac computer. I also have a HP laptop, cost me about $800. You can use either one of those to run your business.
