If Baird and Cole aren't in campaign. that's fine, as long as they are in multiplayer
At most, they’ll get a cameo or have a short act for themselves.
I think they are somwhere else to be honest, but we might see tai, kim, hoffman and other people!
Cole was still playing thrashball at the time so he probably won’t be in the campaign unless maybe they show his speech before he left the field to join the cog

GOW Judgement
1. Nicole Fawcette, TC's Brand Director went on record to say GoW:E-Day is "A story of many origins." And explicitly stated “[The Chainsaw Lancer] doesn’t currently exist in that period… but it’s not a Gears game if you’re not chainsawing Locust!” This would imply Tai will make an appearance in one way, shape or form. Whether it's a cameo or main character. Also, Tai and Marcus already know each other by this point.
2. Kalona, Tyrus might be counted as a standalone city, but I have a feeling it's close enough to Ephyra to not matter. Dom moved from Jacinto to Ephyra prior to emergence day. And there's no way that Dom could respond to the call to action in Ephyra and make it to Kalona that soon. Unless it was practically the same city. We don't have much info on Kalona, it may be a Ephyran district or it may be it's own city. Or maybe both, time will tell.
3. If we end up leaving Kalona/Ephyra, the next best place would be Jannermont. If we do end up there, finding Sraak's corpse would be cool. And maybe, just maybe, encounter Krav. Jermad. His story is completely blank following the events of Raam's coup. Perhaps, he'd make a fine boss battle!
4. This may be the first ever game appearance of Chairman Tomas Dalyell. The unlucky lad was in power during this disaster! Not that he'll last long anyway.
5. Kim might show up, but there might not be an interaction between him and Marcus. Gears 1 heavily implies the two haven't formally met. Although Kim, by the events of Gears 1, certainly knows about Marcus, due to his trial and conviction.
6. We could definitely see Maria again. She will be different for sure, a little depressed, a little distant. But watching your kids fall into an e-hole kinda does that to people.
7. The description states that Marcus and Dom will bond closer together following the death of Carlos, but it's worth noting they've been sitting on that tension for 2 years. 2 B.E was Operation Leveller and the Pendulum Wars didn't end until two years following. Additionally, assuming they didn't retcon the deep lore; Dom still doesn't know how Carlos died. Just that he was a hero and saved his team. And he wont learn the truth until Bernie lets it slip 14 A.E. Just worth noting during the story.

I would love it if there was a segment in the game, perhaps near the end, where Marcus and Dom are pinned down by an overwhelming force of Drones--
And then there's a chain of explosions in the distance followed by a voice yelling on the comms _"WELCOME TO THE SURFACE, BABY! WHOOOOOOOO~!"_ as the attackers divert away from Marcus and Dom.
For the last one, I can already imagine dialogue.
“You knew my brother. Do you know how he died?”
“He went out like a hero.”
“Yeah, no kidding. Anything else?”
“…Not really.”
Well they could hear the dialogue from judgment if they push it back that far after e day when they lunch the light mass bomb. Cole doesn't join till a while after e day so if a one day thing it prob won't happen
Honestly I would also like to see Sofia Hendrik in this one. It would be cool to see her back. I remember that she was news reporter and decided to join the COG when E-day happened.
I hope we see Karn. He attacked the UIR and Paduk on E-Day.

Karn would be in Gorasnaya on E-Day which is UIR territory, so it's not likely

I do hope that they feature Gears Tactics characters in E-Day, especially Gabe Diaz since he holds importance in the Gears 5 story

Cole joined within a week of EDAY after his parents were killed, he played a Thrashball game on EDAY after the chairman ordered it to continue.
Well judgment takes place only 6 weeks after E day so it’s highly possible
Hopefully we get to see a carmine like there dad or someone related to them
I think they will be a cameo of the fourth carmine brother, hopefully not dying since the fourth carmine is the father of Elizabeth "lizzie" carmine from gears 5

William Carmine in the book died on E-day. He just retired and raam emerges from a hole on jannermont and kills him.

I think the one that make the most sense for the squad is Tai for sure. They could have Pad make his ingame appearance for E-Day. Who is a recurring character from the books.
They could do easter eggs/cameo's for Baird and Cole but it wouldn't make much sense lorewise for them to meet since they dont canonically meet until Gears 1. They should definitely be part of the multiplayer though.
If the campaign follows E-Day and the opening moments and months then we can get a Baird and Cole cameo as members of Kilo squad. Marcus was at Halvo Bay when Kilo dropped the missile and if they didn’t want to include that part then they could at least mention them in a collectible you find or you overhear their trial from brief dialogue between gears or over the radio.
Definitely wanna see Barrick and the rest of Zeta-Six. They were just so good in RAAM's Shadow. We gotta see them again.
The game will not take place only on Eday but several days after too

Who I'd like to see, even if it's for a brief moment: Clayton (recruit), Sam, Tai, Barrick and Alicia.
Barrick joined because of operation lifeboat, I know Sam was in hollow storm
Baird wanted to become an engineer but was forced to joined the military because his parents wouldn’t give him his inheritance otherwise (high society family basically)
They died on E-Day and Baird enlisted afterwards.
Cole was with a few other people on his way to discuss a contract renewal with his agent when the raidos and the emergency news broadcasted the events E-Day, specifically his hometown of jannermont where his mother and father died.
After playing a Thrashball game that was ordered to continue by the COG Chairman at the time, Cole publicly made his decision to enlist in the Army, which upped recruitment rate by alot.

We're mostly going to get younger versions of the older characters but most definitely and hopefully some gears comic characters

I hope we get to see Raam, Skorge, Karn, Praax, Jermad, Ukkon and Sraak in this one. It'd be cool if they elaborated on the Beef between Sraak and Raam, Ukkon and his contributions to the Locust Horde, and the Bloodied Vanguard in GENERAL.

I was devastated when it was revealed that Anya had died in 4. I really hope she's in E-Day.

Young tai. I NEED to know more about Tai and his development. I WANT to know his father or his guardian his role model
He was raised by his grandfather and he joined the cog during the pendulum wars after his island was invaded by the UIR
I think Tai is by far the most likely to make an appearance. I wouldn’t be surprised if they retcon the timeline a little so that Tai saves Marcus with the chainsaw (thus inspiring the chainsaw lancer) during the events of this game. GOW usually has squads of 4, even if most of the campaigns are only two player Co-Op. Maybe this games main 4 consists of Marcus, Dom, Tai and Rojas? If you’ll recall Rojas was the dead COG Soldier that Dom seems to have some history with given his dialogue when they found his corpse in GOW1. I also think it would be really neat for the prologue of this game to show Dom with Maria and their kids, kind of akin to the prologue of Fallout 4 where you get to spend like 10 minutes experiencing what the world was like pre-war.
You do realise the timeline wouldn't face any retcon if Tai saved Marcus to help influence the creation of the MK2, right?
In the novels, Tai saves Marcus using a power saw to kill a locust and that's where Marcus and his dad get the idea from.
Don’t know who the forth will be but the main 3 will definitely be Marcus, Dom, and Tai.
@@markjones5672 yeah I know the events happened, I just mean, I have no clue the time frame in which E-Day will take place. Like if the whole story happens over the course of -+24 hours or if it’ll cover months. Because obviously it would take some time for Chainsaw Lancers to go into mass production it doesn’t make sense for them to exist in 24 hours
Definitely hope to see Kim and his backstory, as well as Hoffman.
I was hoping you'd mention Michael Barrick!! I'd love to see more of him during the start of E-Day.
Absolutely loved his character in Raam's Shadow DLC. Such a bad ass! Not to mention, He sacrificed his life to save Marcus and the rest of Delta Squad against Blood Mounts.
Its likely we will see Hoffman, Tai, Dizzy and maybe a different carmine brother.
Baird is unlikely as he was in a different platoon, and Cole was still a thrashball player. Could see some easter eggs from his playing days like in GOW3.
Would be cool to see a younger badass Kim. Maybe he can have a fight with raam but survives, which is why Raam wanted him for himself in GOW1?!?!?

It would be nice to see in a cutscene of the world reacting to e-day, and during the many reactions we see cole react looking at the TV, and baird reacting how the Coalition wants him to. They could also show child jace as reacting idk something like that
It would be really cool if the prologue for E-Day was kinda like the prologue for Fallout 4. Like imagine being Dom and you get to spend like 10 minutes with Mario and the kids experiencing what life was like before the war, or in this case before the emergence.

Im pretty excited to find out who the antagonists are gonna be. Raam? Some other Locust from the comics? Also i think your on the money with Tai is for Gears of War E-day it all lines up well with no clear story for him on eday and like you said he gives the idea for the chainsaw bayonet. But for the 4th character(since theres usually 4 members in delta) it could be a carmine who dies and gets replaced like Anthony or like you said Sam since she also has no clear eday story basically making it where they can do whatever they want with her and she has a connection with Dom in Gears of War 3
I think the villians are gonna be Skorge, RAAM, & Jermad (Mainly) because they were the ones who basically started the E-Day attack in Jannermont (the first city to be attacked by the locust horde.)
I mean it could be a Carmine if they want to keep the tradition going. I think Tai makes the most sense for sure. They could also bring a recurring character from the books. His names Pad for short. Hes a sniper.
In terms of Sam, I don't know about any comics that mention her, but I don't think Sam meets Dom until the book "Anvil Gate". Which takes months after Gears 2.

Really torn between wanting a super tight knit story of just marcus and dom vs playing through all these other characters experiences of E-day as well. As long as they lean into the horror elements from GOW1 with the gameplay im happy!
If Gears of War: E-Day will get a campaign DLC like RAAM's Shadow or Hivebusters, I can totally imagine it being dedicated to Cole and maybe Baird too. Like, imagine seeing Cole react to his parents' death on E-Day or going to his last Thrashball game and telling the fans he's going to enlist, that would be such a throwback to Gears 3.
My wishlist for Gears of War E-Day. I have a strong feeling this 1st one will be included, dont start off immediately on Emergence Day, like show us the final days of the pendulum wars, then have a segment of Sera enjoying peace during those 6 weeks after the U.I.R. surrender.
And yes Marcus and dom don't meet cole and Baird till gears of war 1 but try shifting between the perspectives of other characters during E-day. Like id love to see Garron Paduk during the fall of Gorasnia by General Karn. Have the carmine family trying to escape the chaos. Young Clay, anthony, Ben, and unnamed 4th carmine brother. Include Cole's speech at hanover stadium as he enlisted in the army to fight the locust.
adam, marcus, dom , a carmine with name beginning with the letter Z (lol), Might have missions before Eday for story and Carlos (doms brother) would appear, Helena Stroud, raam,skorge , Sraak FOR SURE, Karn, ketor, ukkon, etc etc etc etc lol
I think its going to be a long prequel and the story takes place on eday and per act the time jumps some. I feel Sraak will be the villian along with his actual size because he dwarfs raam. Lore wise we would only defeat him because raam has to kill him. Id like to see Tai maybe even a reference to how marcus met him in the jungle during pendulum wars.
I dont care if they break canon in some places. I need the Kantus as an enemy!

I'd love to see Bernie and Tai. Baird was at odds with his parents. They wanted him to join the infantry part of the military. Or they wouldn't leave Damon Baird any money.
Damon eventually did. But as an engineer. This was just before E-day. So, possibly, he could be referenced.

If they do a story swap where we see multiple different points of view of people on E-Day I’d kill to see a young Clayton Carmine forced to fight against the grubs. In the Raam dlc for gears 3 we got to see a young jace fight along side other gears so I just think it would be neat concept to see again.
Would love a chapter where you play as a civilian Augustus cole saving other civilian and seeing his fans die infront of him fuelling his hate for the locust.
I've been wanting them to make an official map of Tyrus and Sera with all the nations and cities and the Jacinto Plateau and whatnot. But apparently the developers said that won't happen because they want flexibility for stories.
I do hope they give Kalona a lot of personality as a city, make us feel sad that it's being destroyed.
They could also role us into those first few scenerios from the first gears game and what if they decided to present the story in segments instead of as a whole one take. It's so much that happens alot of ground to cover. I think it would be a mistake to stick with just Marcus and Dom. And they have to introduce us to queen myrahh again. My theory for why we going back to E-Day us to potentially set up something much more sinister and foreboding for gears of war 6. We are getting introduced to the prodecessesors of the new generation and its possible we might get the Scorpion team since they we around during this time and didnt get locked up. I could see Lahni with Tai maybe Lahni would've been just getting home from the wars and went to celebrate with her cousin.
Cliff said he thinks the games first chapter will be during the end fighting of the UIR and then EDAY starts. I wonder if we will get to see helena stroud.
I was thinking about this and what if we get a flashback or maybe a few days before eday Marcus and dom are at a cougars game and Cole playing and they make they bet that they mention in 1
coles introduction will be him looking at the TV and locust how he was in the comics, we will probably see baird enlist, and general RAAMs introduction will be him first emerging and taking out William Carmine

I'm sure they will make a new antagonist. Raam. Skorge, Sraak and Karn would be brief cameos at best.
They hinted towards us seeing the lancer get invented in this game so I doubt it will only take place on E-Day
Not sure on Baird or Cole. I know Baird was with Kilo squad earlier in the War from Judgements game play. But Marcus made an appearance over the radio. So depending on the battle he could show. Tai should show up as he was around Marcus and Dom in the books during this time frame as the whole idea of the Lancer with the chainsaw came from Marcus watching Tai take a chainsaw and slice up a grub.
I see you didn’t mention chairman Prescott when he’s probably will appear in the game
I'm praying not only is Prescott in the game, but they get his original voice actor too.
I was thinking you'd might see sraak as he was the Commander of the E-Day invasion but on another hand he was killed by Raam on E day as well
I think they said that we’ll see the chainsaw lancers come to be. I think it may start a little before E-Day, E-Day and then the aftermath soon after E-Day. I’m excited to see some more of the game!

Marcus hadn’t heard of Baird - he’d only heard him talk over the radio network when he was contacting Cole. Because Baird was quite aggressively/sarcastic demanding help, it wasn’t hard for him to guess who he was when he heard him talk (they were in a group of other survivors).
We might be able to hear baird some time down the road or maybe before. Though I think in the story Marcus knows baird from judgement as he saved him with the missle

If they start the campaign in the middle of an intense thrash ball game when the holes open up and we get a small cameo of the Cole train, that would be hype

i don’t think kalona district is a city it’s a district within a city. it could really be anywhere, there could be a mission halvo bay where you call in the lightmass missile and _thats_ baird and cole’s cameo
I remember in gears 2 intro they had the chansaw gun but I could be wrong

The TV screen in the trailer says 'Kolona District', meaning the game COULD take place in Ephyra and Kolona is just a large area within Ephyra.
I think Tai has an extremely high probability of appearing as TC did say that will show the backstory of multiple things and said something along the lines of "Gears isn't Gears without you chainsawing a Locust" so I believe in the last act of the game we will get a scene of Tai using the buzzsaw on a Locust and the Lancer Mk. 2 being in the past missions
Well if we go by with gears of war judgment it takes place 6 weeks after E day and Baird had to save Marcus’s squad so it’s possible they’ll make an appearance
We will most likely have a mission with tai at the time he kills a drone with a chainsaw giving us the birth of the lancer rifle with the chainsaw bayonet

You know, they should do what they did in transformers fall of cybertron character mission where you play as both locust and human in the campaign
Tai, Hoffman, the father of the Carmine family, Barrick, Adam Fenix and Kim are my top guesses that will return
RAAM, Skorge, Karn, Vrol, Ukkon, Jermad, Ragers, Bloodmounts, i hope we get to see all the OG Locusts 😭 or at least most of them. Breechshot 🤞🏽
What about Dizzy? I'm surprised there's no mention and not a lot of people in the comments have brought him up

If the did include RAAM, it wouldn’t just be RAAM they’d encounter as Skorge was actually present with him in the Jannermount battle. They went to the surface together In the first attack.
Except in theory they can't encounter either villain (nor witness them) as Marcus and Dom's first time seeing each villain were in their respective entries of the series. Otherwise it causes some continuity issues of their knowledge of RAAM and Skorge during GoW1/2
@@markjones5672 Which is correct, for Skorge, which I feel if Skorge was to be included in this game it would be through multiplayer.
However RAAM could be used, as originally we all thought Gears 1 was when Minh & RAAM first met when he was later killed, but later we found out Kim & RAAM met in Gears 3’s RAAM’s shadow dlc. So Marcus’s reaction to Kim’s death in Gears 1 & seeing RAAM could be a “fearful reaction” & a remembrance reaction from when he saw him on E-Day? Just a thought..
If neither are used I feel they could use Jermad or Vrol as a sub boss for this game.
If we see Baird and Cole it’ll most likely be cameos like Cole I’m sure we’ll see a couple posters / bill boards as for Baird dunno we might not see him at all it’s the Locust I’m excited for like a young Raam would be cool too and his predecessor those are the only ppl I expect to see other then Hoffman and the chairman Anya that’s a big maybe lookin forward to the game

Doesn't make sense because he was a rookie in 1 so 14 years later. Just surviving 14 years makes you definitely an elite soldier in this world

Maybe a Carmine who is veteran from the the Pendulum Wars (yeah, ik a Carmine was one of the first Raam’s victims, but he wasn’t the only one)

I hoped Jermad would be a Locust General after V-Day. Since the Brash Brigade fought the remnants of the Locust after Gears 3.
I would also love Jermad being an Antagonist in the E-Day campaign.
