These grips fit my Colt 1911 gov perfectly! Nice feel too!I went with walnut for the wood, and it had a slights darker color variation than the grip on the display photo.
which is no problem, no 2 pieces of wood are exactly alike. The wood pattern was striking, and just needed a couple of drops of lemon oil to make the grain really pop.

This was my first dealing with this company, chosen because of the great pre-existing reviews. I ordered the Altamont 1911 Grips - Crocback - Full Size 1911 Rosewood Grips.
The items were received ahead of the original predicted delivery date (I used the standard free shipping) and in excellent order. The wood grain and color tones are beautiful and every bit what I was hoping for.
I have a full sized, 1911 stainless steel Colt 45 and these grips are really set off by the bright stainless finish of the gun. I was also pleased to see that the grips were made in the USA!
Everything about these Altamont 1911 grips impressed me from their quality construction, excellent finish, size and fit was perfect. Mounting holes centered exactly over the center of mounting screw bushings.
Grip profile proved smooth, with clean edges. Checkering is exact with no burrs or rough cuts. Best of all, they look great and feel great!
One grip has some finish that didn’t turn out well. The fit was great. The grain and cuts are great. Just the bottom of the left grip don’t look as good as the rest. Installed on a Walther Colt replica 22LR.
Ordered these in Walnut color. Goes nicely with my SR1911 with stainless slide and matte grey frame. Grip texture in similar to springfield XD or other polymer handguns.
Plenty of grip but not rough on the hands. Fitment to the bushings and screws is perfect. They dont cover as much of the frame as my original Hogue grips did.
Right side grip wasnt quite as long on the top. And both sides seem to cover less of the frame leading up to the front strap. Not a big deal. Im happy with them.
They really stand out.
I replaced my rubber grips on my Kimber custom II. These are terrific and makes the 1911 look refreshed. The craftsmanship is great, and they add a slight bit of bulk to help grip, which I really like. Highly recommend.
I was looking for something different that wasnt going to cost my first born child and ran across these beauties. Just what I was looking for. Not too aggressive but allow for good solid grip.
No fit issues, dropped right on. Now the crappy factory screws need to be replaced to go with these grips. They have a good finish on them and all the detail cuts are done well.
Very impressed. Will probably end up with more (much to the wifes chagrin)!
