- In this video we will compare all 4WD modes that the duster have, include rear diff lock.
With the rear diff lock the duster have more off road capabilities as it have more traction then the standard 4WD with TC mode.

The 4x4 version is a great affordable car, you won’t regret it.

@@traveloffroad thank you , that video would be great to see! Great video by the way straight to the point. I have a question. Why the rear block does not engage on auto mode when power is sent to the rear wheels and its been engaged only in lock mode?
The power engages to the rear wheels in auto mode only when needed, as for the diff lock, it is locked only when 4x4 is engaged, auto mode or lock.
In the video there is a part with open diff, without diff lock. Just for the comparison.

Diff lock is an aftermarket part.
I don’t know if the 2024 Duster is equipped with the same rear diff as the previous model, but if it is, then the rear diff lock can be assembled.

So is it an auto locker like the "Torq Locker" for Subarus?
Pretty much the same as Subaru diff lock, but the main difference is that the duster is not all times 4x4, when I am selecting 2wd mode for regular road drive, the rear diff is as regular open diff and cannot notice any difference than the original diff.

Why do you want to turn off the TC?
Under certain circumstances (uphill, all 4 wheels spinning), the car turn off

I did the video before the diff lock installation and after.
The diff lock is automatic so when I am selecting 4x4 it is diff locked - not ARB button operated.

Actually there is an issue with traction selector and I’m unable to use 4WD-Lock 😢 long times for repair 😂
Just make a temporary bypass, duster without 4x4 is missing all the fun…
how i avtive the 4wd + rear deffretial lock?
There are two options:
1. Install auto diff lock, as I installed in my duster. When you select 4wd, either one of the 4wd modes( auto or lock) the rear differential is locked.
2. Arb style rear diff lock with rear diff select button. Better option but 3 Times the price of an automatic diff lock.
Is there also a front difflock available?
I don’t think that there is front diff lock but there is front limited slip differential (LSD).
@@traveloffroad hey, thanks! I have a 1.0 lpg duster for travelling. I want to do long distance overlanding. Mostly on roads, but in some countries roads are very bad. And sometimes a bit off the trails to find a nice camp spot. I got stuck on a steep icy hill in Latvia recently, the wheels just kept spinning, and have been looking for ways to improve the off road capabilities of my car. Do you think a LSD is worth the upgrade?

Are there additional noises after the installation of the locker when driving on an asphalt roads?
It depends on the model, but in the current version there is no additional noticeable noise from the locker.
In gen 1 the sound isolation isn’t so good so the clicking noise from the locker can be heard.

I know someone that installed this locker, it is working very good.
For my opinion it is too expensive, around 4 times the price of automatic locker.
They have(or had) this auto locker but didn’t add price to it.
The torsen diff is something else, more expensive.
In comparison to the air lock, auto lock(like lock-right) is 15,000rub in Russia which is 4 Times less expensive than air locker.
I thought that Dacia didn't have any rear differential lock?!?
There is an aftermarket diff lock for the Duster.
As in the demonstration video, it is a game changer for the Duster.

If this duster was original you are right, but I assembled automatic rear diff lock.
2wd / auto / 4*4 lock..
And 4wd with rear diff lock.
if ESP on ! .... not a good driver :-)
