I bought it on Amazon and it is called the snake Roofing snake I love it very very handy tool for not breaking the last single especially when it’s cold like you said
Thank you! I've just installed a tankless hotwater heater. Now have to replace the current vent & didn't know how to shingle the new 3/5 double wall vent. @73 I'm not looking forward to spending to much time on our roof. Thank you
These things are a pain in the butt like most chimneys. Good job though at making sure there are no entry points for water to come in. 👍🏻 👍🏻 Never seen one of those nailing bar tools before nice.
Thanks so much. I have to repair mine and that’s very helpful. Could you tell me what the name of that total is at the end that goes up under the shingles and you can ham of the tool instead of the nail?
Can you believe that why would anybody do that Porky shingle over the bottom of the flange is a guaranteed leak every time. Send me your address Porky I want to send you her sweat jacket. Find me on Facebook hit me up. Andrew Bussell or Drew’s Roofing And Home Repair
Do you guys ever throw in a "fake shingle" to cover the bottom sides of the flange? Like you would shingle a vent, chimney stack, goose neck, etc normally. But you would cut out a 4" piece of shingle and put it overtop and just put it where it covers the sides so you don't notice it.
No actually when I do my last run of flashing up against a brick wall or any wall I always leave my bottom flashing or my last run of flashing exposed I never covered up with that shingle like you’re talking about I have seen that done before it’s just not what I like to do
Nice permanent repair!! About what does a repair like that cost? It’s too bad the guy that originally installed that didn’t have the know how or ambition to do it right.
I am sure of that. Thanks for watching. Your the best. Sub for more like it. I am starting a rubber roof over mobile home tmmonday. Will make video or 2 of that. Again thanks for the comments
Perfect timing for this video. My chimney pipe and the bathroom vent have been leaking. Btw, your other videos gave me the knowledge and confidence to replace my subfloor. I bought the harbor freight wall saw and it's made all the difference. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Nifty green bar tool you got there for nailing the last shingle back. Eliminates tearing old shingles
Yes I noticed that tool too. Never saw that one before. Great for not having to bend up the much especially when cold

Well, I will say this be careful up there. It is dangerous.
DANG! You guys are the shit. Thanks for all the help, guys!
Thanks
What should something like that cost?
200
The base of that pipe looks completely rusted. why don't you replace it?
I agree and I asked the customer and gave her a price on it. She said she was going to wait on that.

Yes, it is called the snake. I bought mine on Amazon and it is amazing best tool ever.
There is no excuse for a shingle over the flange , that it is outright bullsh*t for the homeowner. Great video Drew.

A few guys I've worked with do this and it gives it a clean look, I don't think it affects the roof at all, just cosmetically pleasing

I charged her $250 labor plus a bundle of shingles

Remember to seal the shingles above the repair row or any loose shingles.
Exactly thank you from your comment Mike I agree 100% always cock down the shingles you loosen up

Drew is a pro when using that hook blade Paul. lol
i appreciate the repair video but the new shingle color is pretty off the original
We don’t really care
Doesn't seem like much sealed under cap
Just enough
Definitely not professionals
You must be the professional
You need bleeders on the sides
Yes sir
