I just recently learned this amazing trick from someone. On any concrete forms especially a curb this works amazingly. You grab your saws-all, Remove the blade, and with some force press the saws-all table against the form and pull the trigger, it acts as an amazing vibrator to release any air pockets from the concrete.
This is an amazing trick, when you work, let's say with a counter top or something relatively small. But when we talking production, what you saw in the video not even a quarter of what we can place and finish in one day. Just don't have time for that, especially when you have to strip to finish. This technique also could be used on the set of risers which are not getting striped.
The safest bet for any concrete mix is four-two-one: four parts crushed rock; two parts sand; and one part cement. The four-two-one mix, obviously, has seven parts.
@@Take_And_Make Thank you for responding. We do the same. I just don't understand what you add to concrete, that it doesn't get dusty. I'll see how you make sidewalks and curbs. There is no dust. And our concrete is quite dusty when it dries. It's a big secret to me what you add to concrete. Thanks.
How long do you leave the forms in place before Stage 6? Everything I've read says leave them for several days, but this video shows removing them in order to finish the face.
It is different all the time, because concrete sets up whatever the hack it wants! So, I can't really tell the time, you have to watch it and check time to time with your fingers, checking on how easy/hard rocks are going down, if they aren't moving easy, strip one board and see, if it isn't falling you good to go. Takes a lot of practice to judge it good.
@@superrdddego Thanks, ive done msny walkways i just did first curb yestèrday and was skepical of other videos where forms were left on many days. You have to strip it while it's still somewhat fresh, so you can work with it, if your goal is to finish the face. Time depends on many factors, such as mix design, weather, curb dimensions. Anywhere between 25-60 mins after placed.

just use a portable concrete vibrator
A compacting drill is good to but the slump is important most
This video helped me a lot for planning my curb project this morning. I probably watched this 10 times. Thanks for posting!
Glad it was helpful!
We use expansion joint every 20 feet betwen the reebars, insted just a control joint. Nice video tnxs for share it.
Cool music, I play ambient some mornings on my AirPods if I’m working solo on a project. Wasn’t distracting for your video, cool perspective
Cool, thanks
Very good example
could you give a ballpark time of how long until you can take forms off the curbing to do the Finish trowel work (1 to 4 hours later?)
Who else its watching this to make their own curb to skate?
only I wanna build cement to ramp onto a roadblock and some wall in an alleyway so I can wall ride and skate the top of this huge road block
nice
nice job, you can really speed up the curb process though if you get good lifting and shaping a curb by hand. Will save you time and tons of money.
Sounds good! Would have to try it!
What did you use to fill the jagged asphalt gap from the concrete curb?
If you used cold patch will you seal it right away?
Здравствуйте. Вы можете рассказать состав бетона?

Hey guys next time cut your wooden clamps at 5degree for more stability but nice work.
Question: is that just bare wood forms or did you use a smooth-face form to take off more easily?
just bare wood, spray it with oil for better results

You can remove the forms and start facing it once the top of the concrete is as hard as the back of your hand.

I used to have to pour concrete for curbs and sidewalks with a manual transmission mixer. My knee took a beating!
Should of used form oil

What was the TIME before pulling forms? Some videos say wait 48 hours, it looks like you guys took them right off.

I thought you were supposed to hit it with a wood trowel the mag then steel?

Are those wooden yokes ? Lol
Yes they are

Terrible finish. No one brooms curb. An you still have holes in it .
buy a concrete saw and you wont have to do that every 10 feet
You would still need to cut it every 10 feet. With tool cut you don't need to come back. Design is up to customer of course.
