What more can be said about this vid. One of the greatest leafs, talking about one of the greatest coaches of all time, with Ron. The best in the "biz." To the Burns family, Pat will be forever loved and missed. He was one of the greatest coaches of ALL time. We were all fortunate to have known him. Even if it was only through television coverage or the obvious. Everything he gave to the fans AND the game of hockey. A TRUE Champion!!!
Great player (Clark) and great coach (Burns). Always loved Burnsey's shoot-from-the-hip, no-nonsense style and you could tell the players always had his total respect. RIP and thanks for the memories,Pat.
Burns was the best. His Toronto Maple Leafs teams were great hockey teams and as they talked about... they had role players, a true team. Burns had 4 solid lines rolling every night. A highly respected coach that players didnt mess with. Burns loved his players and his players loved him back. He was the best.
I think some people would take exception to that when they had guys like Daryl Sitler and others before him. Hell, some might even hold Mats Sundin above Clarky. Me personally, I think whether hr was captain or not didn't matter much. He was a damn good player for the team. I didn't and still don't see him as a prototypical captain. He just went out there and played his heart but he wasn't like Doug Gilmour or some others that came after or before him.
Funny, Wendal saying that Burns told him not to fight Probert. It was actually the turning point towards the win of that series back in '93. Anyways, great coach, solid dude, ex cop, and great player, Clark. Under-rated.

Ah..memories of 93, Burns and Wendel. RIP Pat :(
#17 a great hockey player, period! This from a Blackhawk fan... Wendell was as tough as NAILS!!!
I miss that team. Best Leafs team since 1967.

Habs fan. I have always liked Wendel and would have loved to see him put the Habs jersey on. All heart.
I Loved a number of 70's leafs, but Wendel Clarke was the greatest Leaf of all time, imo.
Ace96 great comment! I couldn't agree more!
Darryl Sittler and Wendel Clark. Best 'Captains' the Leafs ever had. Great men to admire.
Wendel's a good speaker.
Simply the best. Thanks #17 for being all heart and all class.
RIP Pat. You were a beauty!

#17 will always be #1. ALWAYS. Pat Burns RIP
Pat was a great retired police officer, hockey coach and friend. RIP BROTHER SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.
A class act wendal 👍
This guy could put his skates on and still be the best leaf out there
Greatest all around player ever
Great Coach
My favorite team of all time. I'm in buffalo
He belongs in the HOF, he still has rookie and playoff records that stand today.
What records are those?
That was a great era for Leaf fans.
Pat Burns made Wendel Clark the best player he could be. It is unfortunate that Pat Burns was not around when Wendel was younger! The great Wendel!
I remember this game well. Pat Burns first game in Montreal.
Funny, Wendal saying that Burns told him not to fight Probert. It was actually the turning point towards the win of that series back in '93. Anyways, great coach, solid dude, ex cop, and great player, Clark. Under-rated.
God bless pat burns
Some dirty handle bars there bud! .....I love it lol!!
All heart
Amen brother.
The best captain the leads ever had
Pat is gone, Peter is gone, I miss 1992-1993 leafs, the guts, the glory... I didn't see it with Sundin or now with Matthews
Wristshot is king and so was Wendel
Wendel clark should be the next Leafs coach
No fighting Probie, no fighting Marty...:´(
@NameyMD He fought Marty during that series when Marty ran Gilmour or am I thinking of another season?
That was ‘93, in the conference final when they lost to the LA Kings. A classic series
First game and I bet Wendle would get a goal or two
Calling Todd Gill “an honest hockey player” is an insult to the 2nd best Leaf defenseman of all time.
Love Wendel (in a bro way 'course). Why did he dodge throwing a bone to Todd Gill?
