Thanks for the vid mate but bloody hell I have never heard a man digress as much.
Flick through it in large jumps like it's a Michael Bay movie - & hopefully you'll land on actual material content each time! As Toyota owners - we don't have too many options!
Most informative bloke on the internet! We are very greatful to have you Anthony
For those that are in a hurry. The 7mm is the best option. EGR related part starts around 9min mark.
The entire video is pretty informative though ❤️
Thank you very much for that clarification.
I have a J120 1kzte, here in Brazil, and I always have this doubt.
You're playlist are all organised thank you very much. Each video a wealth of information on 1kd's. I take notes sir. Thank you very much
At last someone who actually knows what's real . I've been looking for what size hole to drill thanks you've saved me some time :)
I did this to my then new 2010 BT50. Just by starting with a 3.5 hole and working my way up to a size that didn’t cause the fault light to come on. I arrived at 7.5 for my particular engine (3L 4cyl) I did the same on my later 3.2 Ranger and also my Amarok. I’m now about to fit one into a Ranger with the 2.2 motor. I also plumbed my pcv back into the air cleaner with a piece of foam inside to catch the oil, which I clean at service time, I always thought the catch can was an oversell !
Had a 7mm plate in for about 15 months, all good so far 👍
I put a 7mm one in my 1kd-ftv hilux at 195000 km's, I also put a catch can at the same time , I got a fault code P0400 at 320,000km's, the egr was as clean as, but I found the egr cooler was partially blocked, so I pulled it off and cleaned it out. all good now
Pros and Cons ,,,,, true pro, if you listen you get the right information proved and tested..........Cons are if you dont listen your loss, you can always tell an idiot but you cant tell an idiot anything. Great information for those willing to listen and learn.
I the best you help prado owner around the world 🌎 cheers for Israel
hillarious & informative thank you love the aussie directness. 7mm hole in the blanking plate.inmy Saab 9-5 if it all works excellent.Cost £5.00 so far if it works again I willbe happy thanks again.
Cold air is denser than hot air and as such you are getting more mass of air without a egr, hot gas is thinner and has less oxygen, i am currently rebuilding a ford 2.4 diesel with egr and the inlet side of the cylinder hear is choked with thick oily sludge reducing the size of the inlet ports and strangling the engines performance not to mention the premature engine wear due to particulates getting into the combustion chambers. I fail to see how destroying or damaging an engine in the name of reducing pollution and creating a need to manufacture a new engine or parts helps the enviroment as it takes energy to manufacture the replacements and of course MONEY
awesome true and correct info
2018 Rav4 2.2 c-cat 10 mm hole works great cheers
Thank you for this information. Really appreciate it! Enjoying your videos. Keep it up. Greetings from South Africa.
Good stuff.thanks
Thanks for the info
Hi there, I have a 2012 3lit Fiat Ducato with only 90,000 Ks on the clock.. Had head off recently to machine-out the injectors (corroded into head) and found inlet manifold badly choked with sticky soot. Having watched your video I will place similar restrictor into my system. Which end of EGR cooler dose it go, the INLET or OUTLET ends. Is the hole size related to the engine capacity or the diameter of the tubes..
Love your vidio
Does the ECU compensate in a good way for the reduction?
Using a fine gauze not a filter reduces and does not eliminate c/can oil.
I have had a full blank plate together with a ozbush mapper that I keep on the neutral setting (not + or - ) , a Aus$40 ali billet oil catch can that is bolted to the inner wing opposite the brake oil res so not in the way of anything , vented to air that is piped to the underbelly of the 120 with a small k&n type filter on the pipe end , had this set up since late November 2015 on a 2009 120 with no engine light and no codes pending engine runs smoother and quieter but that could also be due to the egr and inlet to the manifold clean , about a month ago I removed to throttle body butterfly and found the engine gives even better throttle response , only thing I found with the butterfly removal is sudden shutdown of the engine when switching engine off something that does not bother me , and also using a K&N engine air filter , whether it is illegal or not I will carry on running this system as it works very very well , I dont think my 120 auto grand spec ran as good when new compared to how it runs now .
Also using Ozbush, no catch can for me - unnecessary IMO
No dramas with the OB mapper, running on -7 normal, +10 in ATT
Hi mate I just realised no one's done a globe change on the 150s can you pls do one and maybe explain why the ballasts fail. Cheers
Added one to my 2019 Prado at 20,000, now 35,000k,s. I Can see on scan tool that the egr valve sits in a more open position now the reduction plate is in. This has not caused any engine lights or noticeable changes to engine operation or performance.
What kind of problems will an engine have if it is not using an egr-restriction plate? All I want is an engine that will run longer before a rebuild or an engine-swap
And also was told by a mechanic my injection was rattling of its head then he said put Mineral two stroke oil in the mix of a tank of fuel it's much quiter. I do think they need changing at some point
Ecu egr delete. Tune the fuel tables correctly. Job done.
Good advice re uber eats et al!!
Would you suggest a reduction on a D4D that's up to 470.000 KLM Hiace
watched all your other video's. This is not a waste of time at all
Thanks. Got 2oo8 D40 was thinking catch can but will leave it. Put hard turbo pipes n blank EGR to start she 13o ooo K blow by t smoke. Have clean throttle body air cleaner throttle body had light oil E coating not tar should I get new turbo vacuum Solinod good on you thanks
I used a penny in my 08 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Talk about a cheap trick but think I'm going to do some drilling on it now to get the light off. Great video thank you.
Hi, Frank from Germany with a question: What kind of Plate I have to use for my Toyota J15 Prado (2022) with the 1GD-FTV engine and is there a chance to get (buy!) a plate from you? It would be great! Kind regards, Frank
Hey mate, buying a 2007 Mazda bt 50 he says he’s got a egr cooper delete the engine light is on, he thinks I could buy a ‘munji’ thing I plug in and it will turn the engine light off? Can you educate me on what I should do? Cheers.
So am I right in saying this video only really relates to the specific engine your talking about
Hi, what's your recommendation for a 2kd (hilux 2003)? Also a 7mm hole?
Hey .. I have a 2012 hilux kun26r euro 5 with dpf... I did the 7mm egr plate and the egr fault came on ever 50 km ... Then i drill to 9mm and still comes on every 200 km.. should I drill bigger or just remove it ?
Can I do this on my Volvo V70 p3 D5 turbo and not have to do the dpf ,I was going to have it mapped out but it sounds a bit like snake oil and I'm afraid it might fuck up the car some how and it's not cheap as I was told I have to have the dpf done as well .this sounds like a better option now .
Any experience on a Nissan Navara D40 YD25? What size hole in blank plate would you suggest?
Hello from Oamaru Sth island New Zealand.
On the 2012 Nissan Navara D40 St-X Diesel Spanish built.
May I ask what the Intake manifold casting torque is for the bolts?. I just decarbonized it and also gonna replace EGR cooler heat exchange unit.
The main problem was when started it just had all of a sudden this White Hazy pungent smoke then it just keeps cutting out. There's no oil mixed in sump or radiator.
Can you confirm cause please?. I think it's cooler
Vehicle is 160.000 k.m
Hey love the adult kindergarten class lectures.
If you were in a country with no legal issues would you block off the egr totaly? I get it there will be an engine light and from what I understand that can be cleared with a " egr delete"
Bonjour, est merci pour les informations.
Hi Anthony, been watching your videos on the EGR block with the 7mm hole, but have recently been informed about the electronic version of deleting the EGR?? I hadn’t heard of this. Is this something that you know of/ Recomended or not ?
Thanks in advance
Dan
Had that done to my ranger without me knowing in a tune... it killed the egr. I made the dicks replace it at their cost or be reported.
They actually sent sms telling me the tune caused it to fail and was common 😅😆
Hey where I am from, having a egr is not required by law, I have a 1kd hilux. Can I totally delete the egr ? How so? Is it a blank plate ? Then clear the egr code or something?
i have installed 1.5mm thick aluminium plate, Is it ok to use aluminium plate ?
Hi mate do you think mb ml 350 diesel is 3.0 engine do you think 7mm plate is good enough?
What do you think about having the plate when the ecu has been Mapped and EGR is blocked by software.
My thought is around blanking of with plate to get faster spool up as less exhaust escapes the engineblock
I use exhaust manifold blanking plates to make sure no exhaust escapes the engine block. Works great. Engine pretty much uses no fuel and no chance of intake gunk 👌
@@DaveXL495 what year model mate? pre egr cooler?
Hi everyone
Been searching for info on the eve plate, I have a 2022 sr5 hilux, is the kaon 7mm hole the one I should use?
6.35mm should be good to try?
Or start with 8mm then change to 7, then 6.35mm 😮
Another very informative video! I have a question, how do you wind km’s back on odometer on kzn185
don’t do it….i had a mate that did it on a 2003 Hilux 1KZte….used an electric drill in reverse with the bit blunted and slotted…didn’t synchronize with rego history…got fined…A BIG ONE…don’t know how much exactly….but was very very sorry….!!
LOL you really think an honest, legitimate guy like Anthony would risk his business and livelihood to do something so dodgy such as that, let alone tell someone how to do it? And you sir are of a low form to try and scam someone like that wishing to buy your car. It's deplorable! 😤😤
I have a blanking plate with no hole in my Avensis for the past year with no problems. Would you recommend a 7mm hole be drilled in the plate to allow atleast some flow through?
No. They only use the holes to get around the legal aspects. Delete all egr system when possible
is there a way to add filter that exhaust line?
Even as a " Non Mechanic " I thought the the solution should be to pipe the EGR gas from BEHIND The DPF! ( But then again, Auto Manufacturers want to $ell More Vehicles in the future)
Hey mate how do I get in contact with you ? I would like to book my Hilux in with you guys
Prado god
Just installed a 7mm plate on otherwise stock d4d. Was fine but next day got a CEL. Any thoughts?
Yep same thing happened to me yesterday. I have the 2007 1kdftv Hilux and just manually cleaned out my EGR System including EGR cooler, Intercooler, Manifold, Added longer SCV and new MAP Gas filter etc and added 7mm. First test drive of 20 minutes was fine then went for drive after coolant flush, about 20 minutes, and got a CEL. And my car is in top condition and never had any issues and never had any codes. So I have no idea.
Does 7mm work for VDJ76 76 v8??
Can this be used with dpf. ?
better for the intake understood....but....does it affect lifetime DPF? greets from France 🖐️
I can tell you that I have a 2009 GMC LM duramax 3/4 ton with 225000 miles and and no DPF trouble at all. It Burns down to 0 g when it does a regeneration and I know this from watching a scanner but it's the only way I could know. I have no block off plate i've been using full flow e g rand it's not caused any problems with my d p f I do not have NSCR that uses diesel exhaust fluid.
Blocking some v g r flow would just help even more
Drive the vehicle very easy after you've done it for quite a bit to let the computer return everything .
What hole won’t work for a 1vd
Does 7mm hole blanking plate work in 4n15 engines? TIA
Up
You probably should have said that a Catch can is best option if you want to keep it legal. But yeah, I agree, no point using one if you block egr. Pros and cons with all these sorts of things. If I was buying a new modern diesel today, I would do nothing.👍
A catalytic convertor definitely can block up....
Not on these
Skip to 7.50 to the point
7mm roughly 17/64
Heya, any proven hole size for 1kzte equipped 120 prado?
No hole
@@Fourby4Diesel thank you kindly. Got mine all apart, just waiting for my genuine toyota injectors to turn up from toyota nz.
6.35mm is 1/4 inch
Now Im not gonna 👇👇 tell ya what works... 👇👇👇👇🤫🤣🤣
What’s your work no please.
Keep watching videos. It’s easy to find everybody else gets it. It doesn’t ring lots of fools keep trying to ring it’s just a red number that gets deleted at the end of the day. It’s a text message service Monday morning 7:30 AM if people can’t figure that out, then they’re the wrong people for me see how desperate I am to sell things only to the wise astute learner
Your intro is soooooooooooo long
This video is BS. I've had a blank plate in for years. No problems and zero forks given.
is it effective to prevent soot build up in the intake? without occ
For gods sake man you’re a cure for insomnia. Your info is real and thanks for it but for Christ’s sake get to the point
