Enthralling and chilling! I had never heard of this author before hearing August Heat read by Simon Stanhope - which I enjoyed so much that I was delighted that you'd also selected it! - so thank you very much for your excellent performance of this story and hopefully you will narrate more works by him very soon.
Why you don't have as many subscribers as bite-sized audio classics/Simon Stanhope, and magpie/Sherlock Holmes/Greg wagland is beyond me. You are every bit as good, every bit.
@@maj0rsquish I wouldn't argue but they are all unique tho, and the gentleman from horror babble, Ian Gordon is also similar all four just real pros and so wonderful to listen to tell these wonderful tales
I would say you are much better than Bitesized Audio!! His narrations become grating to my ears after a while because of his pitch or the way he stresses his cadence somehow…I am not sure. But if I want to listen at night and to really become enthralled in the story and feel transported- you are for me!! I love how I can forget you are narrating and I feel I am being led by your hand thru the landscape of the story!! Thank you a million times, sir! Please keep the stories coming🙏😊. Much adoration from Minnesota, USA!
I really enjoy these Victorian short stories, mainly because of the elegant prose and vocabulary, and definitely read by a Brit with an equally fine voice. I recently began to listen to Blackwood's classic "The Willows" but somehow it didn't sound right read by a fellow American. 😄
How truly sad. What a lovely man to have such an unfair happenstance of... Fate, I suppose, I don't know. I still have some questions like how is it that "nobody knows" who the man was?? I have other questions but I don't want to give any spoilers Perhaps I'm just obtuse, LOL and should listen to it again. Maybe I'm simply too arrogant, want all my puzzle pieces to fit perfectly. I just don't know...

Simon and Richard are both excellent narrators of these type of stories both bring very individual yet equally enthralling skills
Thank you so much for reading this - and for reading it so beautifully! I do enjoy W F Harvey’s stories.
Thanks again for the introduction!
