The magic of music is that it creates emotions and brings them up again and again. I was born in 1974 and my first contact with Iron Maiden and - in general - the conscious experience of music were especially "Somewhere In Time" and "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" - on music cassette. It was only after that that I explored the earlier Maiden albums. Therefore, these albums will always have a special place in my musical heart and evoke very wonderful youth memories. Love both albums, probably Voivod’s best imho. The Forrest albums are underrated af. Voivod are still my favorite “progressive” metal band

Long distance runner in my opinion is àn excellent song ,vocal waves unique in comparison to other incredible vocal displays .The stretch and range he carries is hard metal tranquility.
A personal favourite . meditation in rest this is one of the best ..easy to get lost in his voice along with the rythim In the beat of the drums and exceptional riffs.

Nothing wrong with the keyboards on Seventh Son. My favorite Maiden album. The keyboards remind me of Rush. It's not overused like the other 80s crap.

For sure. I love maiden but voivod around the hatross era was at their peak powers where maiden was starting to get weaker with 7th son.

Death Angel Rules. I’m going to just give my track by track review on Seventh Son: I like Moonchild once it gets that gay intro out of the way (seven deadly sins. Seven ways to win…WTF), infinite dreams (I really love that song and the tempo change), can I play with madness (maidens worst song to that point…it’s not horrible..but it is like what band is this..there is actually one song I hate more on this album, the evil that men do (what a piece is shit song. How many times can Bruce sing living on the razors edge, balancing on the edge….it showed us where maiden was regrettably going, SSOASS (total epic. Classic maiden.), I remember liking the project but can’t remember what it sounds like, love The Clairvoyant, only the good die young (album ends on a downer track. Very blah. And then brings back that gay intro). That’s just my review of Seventh Son as I’m not familiar with the Voivod album but now I want to check it out.
Now I love Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. Up there with Killers and Number of the Beast as my favorite Maiden albums. Love the atmosphere and progressive nature and think the songs are all great.
Can’t do a fair track by track because Voivod is that band I’ve always wished I liked but have never resonated with me. They’re very unique and I respect them, but chalk it up to just not for me, sadly.
I really like 7th Son, but I can do without Can I Play With Madness (never liked that one) and especially The Prophecy, problably the worst Maiden song in the 80's
