There was a couple times were I played against someone and exactly like you said I noticed they did not move much at all which made me think they were not that good in the beginning. Oh boy was I wrong it was like or nah it was them just placing a certain ball KNOWING where I am going to return it. Frustrating to play against but I hope I will reach some of that level haha
Great to see another coach teach the same preparation for both the bandeja and the vibora. I always had trouble with the “tray” preparation, holding the racket behind the head felt way more natural. You can do the same shot with different power and spin to go more towards either bandeja or vibora depending on the situation.
Good work, Ewan. This is exactly what the majority of us need! Great coaching by Alex; clear and simple. I am definitely guilty of the wrong shot selection!
I have been training with many Spanish couch and when I came to the club saw the coach way of teaching and how different it was I hesitated to take a class with him to train me ! For example, he prefers a top spin volley instead of flat..but after I saw this video I decided next time when I’m in london I’ll take some sessions with him. He’s different
Nice video! I totally recognize playing against a coach like he moved around like hell and it felt like my heart would stop or pop out. I think that just shows your skill level on shots is not very important but ball placement is key. Having decent shots with great ball placement will win you more than the opposite which many don't realize. I mean people are very focused on playing their best shot or constantly improving their shots instead of playing right shots.
I agree, a lot of people at our level don't give enough importance to the tactical side of the game, building a point, being patient. That is so key in the game and something i learnt the hard way :D
@@jjoao32 Yes very true. Building a point is really lacking and most people just react to present situation with little to no thought about the possible return. Also I think protecting your partner is something many don't think too much about. Anyway at lower level patience is the key and with that comes the build up somewhat automatically I think. But I find padel interesting in that compared to many other sports patience is a skill and something you have to learn and practice.
@@jjoao32 Just out of curiosity. How did you learn or became aware of the tactical side? Like did you play a game against better player and lost 6-0, 6-0. 🙂
@@sebulbathx this is actually one of the things I get most upset at myself for, when I set up a point to the opponents leaving my partner completely exposed. I try not to but it’s not always easy
You can see in the little segment where you play a few points, how much more varied Alex' game is, constantly changing angles, depth, speed and how hard that is to play against
Soft against the fence... I've seen this recommendation from some other coach too. I think the reasoning was that there's a bigger likelihood for an irregular/surprising bounce as opposed to when you hit harder.
Nice work boyo. Love it as always. As you said he didn’t move in front of the service line. I’ve seen you attack deep players before now using the grate. Did you avoid it in the cross court so as to enhance the message? Or do you think deeper returns are safer in general? Touched a nerve as this is what I’m currently working on 👌👌
Hi Ewan, just wonder, Alex said when you do Bandeja it make a circle swing, but when i see you hit bandeja it give high to low swing. Is it a must to do the circle swing, or just do it the way you feel more comfortable? Anyway, really learn a lot from all of your video. Thank you
It was my left arm not being active. It was down and it was causing my left shoulder to drop. By moving it to the side it kept it high. Helped with rotation
@@EverythingPadel yes, bandeja is a simple shot from up to front with a backspin(similar move to volley with very high preparation but you stand sideways) or flat(second type), wrist is not envolved at all like in vibora. Classic backspin bandeja is like Bella, Ruiz (captain America), Tello etc.
Love the videos boss! How much do you think a good racket makes a difference to being good at match in Playtomic? I’m wondering if the investment is worth it😊
honestly not much. it's all positioning and being able to put the different shots consistently where you want them to. but if you find a racket that plays like you want to it feels better and is more fun. i doubt you will win a lot of extra points though
It won’t effect you in terms of being “better/good” in a match, it’s more about style and what suits you. So for example right now I’m focusing more on attack, so i am using a very attacking racket to help with that
How do you like the hack 03? I’ve demoed it for 20 mins and loved the stiffness and hardness of the racket, but I wonder how do you manage in a longer match?
I really like it - because I am focusing on attacking game. I do find myself constantly pushing the net more now because I am using it. When the new ranges come out, I will probably go to the AT10 as that is best for me
@@EverythingPadel Tnx for your reaction! I’ve also played with the at10 and its great indeed, just a little bit too ‘soft’ for my personal preference, but an amazing racket in all other aspects. Great vis as always 💪🏻
You can see how good the coach is without him even needing to move much. Damn
Yeh exactly

Great session and so simply put, he is an amazing coach. It all makes sense. Such great tips and really easy to understand. Can't wait to test them.

Great video! Learnt alot from Alex. Simple tutorial is what we need, not too technical but easy to understand and effective. Thanks guys

And it developed me lot from just watching it .
Quality last point 💥 Next level tips from Alex as always
have you had a sesh with him?
@@EverythingPadel A while ago now when he first arrived. Still remember everything from it well!
This is an amazing video! so much technique invovled
Great video Ewan. Would be great to know if you still use the little topspin on your groundstrokes and the demonstrated shot selection tactics.
Yeh it’s reinforced it. I did this anyways but have done it even more now
Thanks for the lesson!
Vibora when further back and Bandeja on shorter ball is extremely interesting and in a way makes a lot of sense

Most important is the type of spin - vibora is the side spin, bandeja is backspin.
At 6:46 you should have hit the side glass like Damian did in club champions video :)
Haha
‘Finish on the traps’
Eye opening
Please get a tripod the camera shaking is making it hard to focus😭
coach is so goated!!!
He is👍
Nice video, next time use a tripod or something to make the camera stable... keep up the grind!
What was the reason behind not dropp your shoulder in forhand volley? Also did he mean your left shoulder?
It was my left arm not being active. It was down and it was causing my left shoulder to drop. By moving it to the side it kept it high. Helped with rotation
@EverythingPadel thank for your answer 👌
thanks for your great content. still the camera please.
Will do - Stan’s first time filming a video - still a lot better than when I first filmed haha
Angle of the racket? We saying about 1oclock?
Great content btw!!
Looks like he showed you two viboras instead of second bandeja) also more and more people use flat bandeja, especially in Spain
For me it seems also like two vibora variants
He did say it was bandeja and vibora but just prepare the same way
@@EverythingPadel I mean even the way he made them, I doubt that you find another coach saying it is bandeja)
@yura8196 yeh I agree. It wasn’t a maintaining the net shot. It was more about the spin. Slicing rather than sidespin
