part of that was a glitch called Zombie. it keeps you in the same state (swimming or not) despite being in water or not. it also stops you from getting Sparx no matter how many butterflies you get, until you die again or transfer to another world.
That was a pretty cool TAS. Having watched many Spyro speedruns over the years I was able to follow most of what was going on, the places that lost me were Icy Peak, and why the Sorceress was damaging herself at the end. Would love to know what happened there.
