James Buchanan Barnes was always a good man.
Hydra just warped his mind and made him serve them as a monster but he himself was never actually evil...just brainwashed into being what he was not.
He's the one person in the MCU I feel most heartbroken for.
He and Isaiah Bradley both deserve better than what happened to them.

Isaiah Bradley though wallowed in bitterness and self-pity whereas Bucky was overcome with guilt even though he suffered more overall. Bucky's guilt even for things he had no choice over proves he's a good person and the fact he didn't lash out and become angry with the world like Isaiah and instead just isolated himself for fear of hurting more people kind of shows it too.
Everything that happened to Bucky and how the powers he never asked for were used and exploited by evil people when he was just a normal lad who wanted to protect his friends is so heartbreaking. I really hope he gets a chance to do great things in the MCU going forward, and prove he's the hero we all kind of know he already was in his war days. I want him to have happiness and friends and family all around him too.
the way he says me at 2:05 is just so heartbreaking, he feels like doesnt deserve redemption after everything he did like with yoris son and its just so sad

Just seeing him like that makes me so upset. He is a good man and didn’t want all of this to happen, he got meddled with his mind, lost his arm *twice* , lost Steve and still carries on with life.
I think he might be as strong or even *stronger* than cap, especially with his metal arm.
He deserves to be happy.
Btw this is my opinion and I am asking you to respect it. Some people may agree on this, and some may not.
Bucky deserves better and that is what I want to say. Please don’t attack me for this.

I have loved Seb for years and his role in the MCU is so powerful. He is such a tragic character. When he said, I’m not a killer anymore and Isaiah essentially says, you don’t get to choose who you are, it broke my heart, especially because of the scene in Civil War when Bucky tells Steve the same thing, I don’t do that anymore, then later in the movie he is triggered by Zemo into doing just what he didn’t want. He just wants to be free, but he’s not. He isn’t free from his fear or his past.
This is tragically beautiful.
This makes me want to start a warm shower just so I can sit in it and cry. My heart feels like it's been ripped from my chest, chewed up, spit out, stomped on and ripped up. Bucky has been through so much and I just want to give him a hug and tell him itll be okay

whenever I watch the Winter Soldier again (yk coz its my main comfort movie) my mu always complains about how he's a killing machine and i makes me so sad because she just doesn't understand. and to think that people actually think he's the villain in the story. to think that they don't believe that it was HYDRA that did that. the wasn't his choice. he was brainwashed. and he is so strong for that, and that's why I love him.

He kills yes and a couple of times its horrifically brutal but each and every time its because he's being used and exploited by evil people for thier own ends because the real Bucky would never have done that.
I think one thing that really shows Bucky is not an evil person is that even after all the torture and the brainwashing Pierce *STILL* has to tell him he's doing good and is helping to make the world a better place. Even in his broken and confused state with no memory and almost no capacity to act on his own he *still* doesn't want to do bad things.
Its so tragic to see how a good guy who just wanted to protect his friends was tortured, abused, broken and exploited in such a horrific way, but in a way it is also a great story arc because he survived because his friend believed in him, he came through it and at the end he still wants to help others. He would have made a great Avenger and I hope he gets the chance to do great things in the future.
His confession to Yori is gonna be gut wrenching, poor Bucky, what an awful life.

Bucky deserves the world, he is the most traumatized character in the MCU, if not the most innocent
He was a young 27 year old man, shipped out to the war without a choice, he was a playboy who loved having fun with girls but was always there for his best friend. He loved his country and he just wanted to do what was right by his best friend.
He fell off an enemy train while fighting alongside his best friend, brainwashed and tortured by Hydra. Forcefully injected with the SS serum, turned into the Winter Soldier, Hydra's assassin and right hand. His memories forcefully erased and made to commit acts of murder all while Bucky within was repressed and forced to commit these acts while the memory remained in his mind. Never able to forget or erase them, forced to remember.
When the words were erased and he was able to get his mind back, his life back. He was dragged into war against Thanos again, then snapped from reality when the Infinity stones were used. Then after he comes back and protects earth, his best friend abandons him with his mental health and trauma for a girl he knew for 4 years, compared the best friend he'd known all his life.
He's then left after having his name cleared, forced to live alone with nobody to help him through his baggage. Then forced by Zemo while working alongside Sam to fight the flagsmashers to become the winter soldier again.
Bucky deserves peace, he deserves love and he deserves an abundance of plum trees and plum flavoured sweets. He's been through so much

Isaiah's story is beyond tragic, but I hated him when he told bucky "you don't get to choose who you are", basically telling him he is a killer and an assassin and he can't do anything to change that.
Poor guy he’s been through a lot
Imagine when it's all said and done I'm talking about years later down the line if they kill off Bucky and he goes off sacrificing himself for the greater good but never got to live a happy life it'd be sad but also poetic cuz the brainwashed version with always kill people but his true self would always save people.

2:13 Wait did Bucky bang his head against the glass when he was in that holding cell? Poor thing was just desperate to escape. Not to kill but maybe just to stop Zemo using him.
Also he sounds so sad when he says "I'm not a killer anymore" because both people he says that to don't believe him and don't think he's anything else. He never chose to be a killer, he never wanted to be and he's not in that show. Just glad some people realized he was not and he got a chance to be happy.

it took so long just for Bucky to finally.... snap...... forgetting everything and everyone he knew and loved... I can't imagine... LOSING your best friend.... and barley awake with his arm gone.... probably screaming for Steve...
but Steve was already out of reach... Bucky being dragged to an unknown area... just to have your arm fully removed and replaced with a cold.....
