That was the best Sambar Hunting episode iv seen on UA-cam, well done mate! You really make a person want to go out and have a go at hunting. This probably explains why there are so many wild dogs out in the National Parks now, after like you explained, Parks Victoria cull all these deer and leave them to rot, I bet the wild dog population has increased because of this. Waiting for your next Episode, keep it up. I'll be purchasing your video as well. Cheers!
That's great to hear mate, really appreciate it, and yes I heard at least 6 wild dogs on the way out. You will love the film. Will send it Monday. Thanks again.
Seriously I’ve hunted most of my adult life. I marvel at your ability to film and hunt so effectively! You are a real talent. I’m loving your work behind the camera. May your passion inspire others to appreciate the privilege that is free range fair chase hunting. These days too few people ever have the experience and they judge hunters out of ignorance not first hand experience

@@solosambarhunter your welcome mate. This vid is one of the best sambar videos on the tube, hard yards, great result, no gadgets, just the pure hunt. I don't have the time to be editing vids atm unfortunately. I do have two hunts that I need to throw together but need the time. Cheers and stay safe on the hill mate👍
Aweosme work mate!!! Just proves that sticking it out is always worth it. Keep the videos coming! On another note The thermal culling is killing a fair few areas that I hunt so I know your pain there. Curious to know if you were Licola way when you ran into them?
It's really overwhelming all the great comments I'm getting on this video, yours included. Really appreciate it. When I got home I called parks to give them a mouth full, and they told me all the areas they are doing the culling, basically any high altitude areas that belong to parks. Licola was high on their list from Kelly's all the way to howitt plains, Dargo high Plains, Davies Plains etc, basically anywhere where stags wallow which is any peatland waterways up there.
@@solosambarhunter yeah I know they have done heaps around Kelly’s and howitt and have shot a fair few deer out of that area. Very frustrating when we pay our game licences. Hopefully they stop it all soon and we can start to see some good numbers of deer around those peatland areas. Na your videos are awesome mate you get the whole adventure so it’s well worth watching!!
@@intothehighcountryI wish it were so but unfortunately I don't think they are ever going to stop the culling. Just wish they didn't do it up there in that magic country.
I gave up rifles on deer, antelope, and elk. 99% of the time it's too easy. This was like 15 years ago. Using a compound bow for years now. No trouble getting venison and wild hog meat at all. I still use my Ar15 platform for coyote control. Have to keep the numbers down so the calves have a chance. Looks like you had an awesome hunt here. Good video for sure. Wanton wasting of game is tragic even if it's Government sanctioned. As implied by comments.
Nice vid, thanks for sharing. Sad to hear of professional shooters wasting this resource and feeding the wild dogs... Maybe the deer will learn to outsmart the night stalkers!
Thanks mate, 2 holes, one in spine and out the other side, 2nd shot from 20 meters in centre chest above the leg. Droped instantly. Thanks for watching.
Hey Mate, I think it's a macpac epic? Normally retails for 599, but on sale you can get it for 350 like I did. The reason I chose this jacket over any others is because it has the treated down which repels water even when it is wet. Other jackets we'll just wet out and are useless. I think it is called hyperdry down 800 fill.
@@dpher1 I've been struggling to find a good jacket that has a robust waterproof shell that won't tear in the bushl. All the hunting jackets are just gimmicks.
@@dtomic17 yep, any down jacket usually isn't strong on the outside. The epic is about the best I found. Kuiu has awesome down jackets but big $. I usually only wear the down jacket when I'm sitting glassing. The other thing I do is wear the halo jacket under my hunters element bush coat, works a treat.
@@solosambarhunter I have used my old Kathmandu without any tears in the bush. After your last message I found what I wanted for. Suss out declathon trek 900 jacket, that should see me thru some cold VHC.
