  • This is the new addition to my stoves. It's thin, light, compact and well made. I went to the beach to test out my new stove "Firebox nano". I had so much fun with this tiny stove. It was easy to light a fire and it only took a secound to unfold. I bought just by it self not x-case kit because only the stove that's sold by it self is made in USA and I tought that I won't need those extra accessories. My pancake came out flat and dense but tasted fine.lol Now I have a mission to make better pancackes.haha
Hope you enjoy the video :)

Nice review, I see so many people who don’t know how to cook on a fire trying to demonstrate a stove. Thank you

You need "Supreme products pocket chain saw " the one and only. The BEST.

First time viewer here and I must say I loved your video. Straight forward without a lot of fluff. I own one of the original Firebox Nanos and still use it. I believe they came out in 2011 and I hiked the Appalachian Trail with it in 2012. Coincidentally I also own one of the original titanium Bushbuddys. While the BB does not fold flat it will nestle nicely in properly sized pot, therefore not really taking up any additional space in your pack. They are my two favorite wood burning stoves by far. I'll be checking out your other videos.

Shinya Takagawa Thank you! I was lucky to find dry prices of wood and that helped as well.

Kudos! Your expertise is excellent. So far, I have viewed and liked three of your videos: "How to Make Rice," "AMSR Sharpening a Knife," and this one. Your skills are excellent. Viewing your videos was a pleasure. Thank you for your efforts and postings. I think you might like the following bushcraft trick that I learned decades ago, in Scouting (just in case you may never have come across the trick). Before placing your pots or pans over any open flames (or coals), soap the outsides of your pots or pans. Bar soap works best, but it can be tedious to cover every spot on the outsides of the pots/pans. Liquid dish soap will also work and will be easier to apply, but, unlike bar soap, liquid soap will never really quite dry--it will remain somewhat sticky. Why the soap? Simple--the soot and sap and resins from the flames will affix itself to the outside surface of the soap; the soap will protect the outside surface of the pots/pans from the soot. Cleanup is super-simple/super-easy: just rinse the outsides with any water source. The water will instantly rinse-off the soap from the outsides of the pots/pans, and the soot will go with the soap. No more sticky outsides of pots/pans, and no more scrubbing the outsides of one's pots/pans! Makes for a lot cleaner insides of your pack and other kit when you pack-up. Again, your videos, so far, I find to be a real pleasure. Your frugal and efficient use of fire fuel and your control of the fire's temperatures for your purposes are worth viewing from which all of us can learn. Your sharpening skills are also very, very good. I immediately recognized the two stones you used, and the proper use of water instead of oil. Most people in the U.S.A. use oil, unfortunately, but teachers, such as Len McDougal, yourself, and a few others produce videos that help mitigate that mistake of using oil on one's whetstones. Best wishes, and please keep posting videos! KMM.

You're really coming up in the world! I hear that titanium is difficult to cook with, but you didn't seem to have any problems. Great video!

I see your arm is ok. It must be such a relief to be able to use it again. And those pancakes looked delicious. You're a "rewarded former world champion master chef of spring roll" and you can do anything ;) - I heard that cases of coronavirus have spread again in recent days in Japan (Tokyo) and also at U.S. military bases in Okinawa. Remember to be careful Mai.

Yes! My arm is back :) It’ll take time to heal completely but it’s so much better without a plaster. The pancake was ok. I’ll definitely need some work to make better one for sure as a master chef.Haha! The situation of Corona virus is getting worse in Japan. Okinawa has been finding more cases everyday. Thank you! I’ll be careful.

@@uemaisadventure I like to use the nano sticks to hold the flap piece open on mine when doing a Swedish rocket stove. Looks like you had no problem keeping a fire lit in this stove. Your first flip of your pancake was quite impressive. When I tried making pancakes using a small fry pan on my nano I ended up with a pancrumble instead of a pancake. hahaha
