Congrats on getting 1st in the world! so glad youre back!! One suggestion, showing youve just become first in the world at the start was somewhat of a spoiler that youre going to win the game. It takes away the excitement and anticipation of the game a little.
It’s not a scam if neither side specified prior to the NB execution. Hugh asked for “ore or brick”, and blue said “ok”, so the card payment is still either an ore or brick. If blue said “ok, brick” and Hugh asked for ore, that would constitute a scam. Of course blue was also in the right to only offer brick; he shouldn’t have caved.
@@hughcatan The scam was in gaslighting him to make him think he should give you an ore. These conversations in colonist use a short format, due to the timer, but the long form interpretation should be obvious. If you offer two options, the person being extorted gets to chose what he trades.

Hey Hugh, have you gotten into any of the Catan community tournaments or leagues? I think you might find those help keep the fun of the game alive vs the online grind. The community has a lot of decent folks, and I think you’d do well in that scene

Came back with a way better attitude and I'm having more fun and playing better than ever. I was right on your heels last season at #24 so I'll be looking to hunt you down this time around (although I haven't even finished my placements games, idk how there are people with 100+ games already what a bunch of fiends lol). 5:20 - that's a scam. You said ore or brick, he was giving you one of them. If you wanted only ore, you should have said only ore.
